Chapter 19 #3

An unbidden smile covered my face when I found Robyn on my couch. She looked up from the book she was reading.

“You look comfortable.”

“Oh, I am. Your couch is so comfy. I was on the balcony, then it started to pour down,” she said with furrowed eyebrows.

“It caught me on my way from Peaches’s pop up event.”

“I forgot that it was tonight. I wanted to go.”

I walked over to her, lifted her legs, then placed them on my lap after sitting. “It’s all good, G. I got two pints on the way.”

She sat up. “Really. What flavors?”

“You’ll see when they get here.” I tapped her nose.

Silence fell over us as she went back to reading and I mindlessly massaged her foot. The quietness was calming and comforting in a way I didn’t appreciate before.

“The shower was cute.”

“It was. I had a good time. It got me to thinking, though.”

I knew nothing else needed to be said for her to understand.

She hummed. “Me too. One day.”

“One day,” I said with a nod.

Robyn pressed her heel into my crotch while peering at me over her book. My eyes trailed her frame. She wore one of those fuzzy, two-piece short sets. I ran my hand up her leg, stopping at her thigh.

“I need to shower first,” I said, then smirked.

Robyn rolled her eyes while pulling her foot out of my grasp. “Fine.”

As I got up from the couch, there was a knock at the door.

“That’s your ice cream.”

She hopped up from the couch, giddy with excitement as she went to answer the door. I pulled my shirt off on my way to the bathroom.

“Nadir,” Robyn called out with a coldness that made me freeze.

Quickly, I buttoned my pants and put my shirt back on. I damn near passed out when I saw Deira standing in my entryway with Robyn’s ice cream in her hand.

Robyn looked at me with lifted eyebrows and pursed lips. If looks could kill, I would’ve been dead on arrival.

“She asked for you.”

“Wassup?” I rushed out. My heart raced a mile a minute, and the longer Robyn stared at me, the faster it thumped.

“I...uh. Here’s your order. I told the delivery guy I’d bring it to you.”

Robyn took the bag. “Thank you. Anything else?”

“Um.” Deira looked at me. Her eyes were wide and her face flushed. “We didn’t finish our conversation earlier. But I see now isn’t a good time.”

Her hand was on the doorknob as she said the last part.

“You’re right. It’s not a good time,” Robyn chided.

Before I could say anything, Deira opened the door and left.

I closed my eyes and inhaled, wishing this was some twisted dream.

Robyn left me alone in the entryway of my apartment.

I was aghast at what transpired. The energy in my home had shifted.

The calmness and comfort from earlier ceased to exist. Robyn was uncomfortably quiet in the kitchen.

I rounded the corner to find her sitting on the island, eating from the container as if nothing had just occurred.

“Goldie, I don’t know what to say.”

She laughed. “I totally forgot that you were a hoe.”

“Come on.”

“Does she always pop up like that?”

My stomach turned from the sharpness of her tone. The pensive look in her eyes made me feel worse than I already did. I wouldn’t know what to do if I lost her trust.

“She has in the past.”

Robyn sighed. “I don’t have the right to be upset because you’re not my man, but it still bothers me.”

“You have the right to be upset,” I said. “We are building something and we agreed to do it exclusively. I should’ve talked to her sooner. This is my fault. I don’t want to lose your trust, G. So, tell me what I need to do to make this right.”

She twisted her lips. “Make sure nothing like that ever happens again.”

“You have my word.”

“Come here,” she said while crooking her index finger. Placing the pint of ice cream and spoon on the counter, she grabbed the collar of my shirt.

“You know how sensitive I am. I hate having my feelings hurt. So now you have to make it up to me.”

“Whatever you want, princesa.”

Her eyes lit up. “That’s a good start.”

I smiled against her mouth then kissed her. My hand moved between us and inside the front of her shorts. She hissed a breath when I rubbed my fingers down her slit.

“Look at me,” I husked while sliding my fingers into her pussy. I swallowed a moan and forced myself to focus on what I needed to say to her. “Nothing like that will ever happen again. I’d never do anything to jeopardize your trust or friendship.”

She sighed when I hooked my fingers, caressing her sweet spot. My thumb pressed her clit and her eyes rolled shut.

“I’m yours. My heart belongs to you, Robyn.”

I kissed her slowly. Robyn’s sweet moans caused heat to surge through my veins. She rocked against my hand while gripping the edge of the counter.

“Do you forgive me?” Running my nose along her neck, I inhaled her scent. I groaned then nibbled her neck.

Her answer was a mix of “yes” and “ahh” as she came. I moaned, pleased with the mess we created.

“That’s my girl. Let me hop in the shower so I can give you more.”

Robyn nipped my bottom lip then smiled. “I love how we make up.”

“Me too, but let’s not make it a habit.”

The last person I ever wanted to be at odds with was Robyn. If we weren’t good, my world would be thrown off its axis.

“Deal. I appreciate how much you value our friendship. It means the world to me.”

“You mean the world to me.”

“Keep talking and you won’t make it to the shower,” she warned before kissing me.

As badly as I wanted to take her up on that, I needed to wash the day off.

After a busy R&B Brunch at Ray’s, then going straight to the baby shower, a hot shower was mandatory.

As the water ran down my back, I let my mind wander.

The sound of the bathroom door closing stole my attention.

Robyn opened the shower door and stepped inside.

My eyes traveled down her body as I pulled her close.

“I couldn’t wait any longer,” Robyn explained, then pressed her mouth onto mine.

She stroked my dick while trailing kisses down my neck and across my chest. I looked her in the eyes, seeing all the love, lust, and adoration she had for me.

My groin tightened. It was then that I decided I didn’t want to wait any longer either.
