Epilogue

Konstantine stood. “I will review our next set of patrols.”

Caiden nodded at him, looking relieved. “Thank you.”

Konstantine gave a slight bow, then made his way upstairs to his room. He shut the door and thought about everything that they discovered in the past twenty-four hours.

He feared the demon Meryn spoke of. He feared failing Magnus more, but he feared failing Sebastian the most. Both men tasked him with keeping Meryn safe. He pulled out his phone and called his Prince.

“Konstantine,” Magnus said, by way of greeting.

“Your Highness.”

“Is everything well?”

“The demon reached out to Meryn again.”

“Tell me everything,” he ordered.

Konstantine, recounted everything that had happened since Hunter found Kiera.

Magnus sighed. “I would never put you in a position that split your loyalties.”

Konstantine smiled. “Your Highness, she is beloved by Level One. She is my unit leader’s sister, my unit commander’s mate, and frankly I adore her. I will simply tell them Noctem Falls has placed me at her side. I doubt anyone will argue.”

“Good.”

“Konstantine?”

“Yes, Your Highness?”

“Anyone but her. Gods above help me, anyone but her.”

“Understood.” He hung up and exhaled. He thought of his nightly dreams showing his feisty and elegant mate. “Hurry to me, my love. We have a princess to protect.”
