Chapter 14 Gift for her crush
Sunrays were sneaking into Eva's bedroom.
Eva initially consulted her phone to find out the time, prompting her recollection of the events from the previous night, during which she found herself in Stephen's embrace.
She then pondered how she had made her way back to her own bedroom. Was I placed in my room by him?
How foolish of me to sleep in such a manner. I ponder the thoughts he may have regarding me.
Suddenly, a message beeped on her phone. It was from her dad
“I hope you signed the documents till now; just courier it asap
I am giving you the address.
Eva’s eyes are wide now. How could she find the envelope? She must ask Stephen in order to find it, as she must have already irritated him by entering his study room without his permission.
A knock on the door disturbed her thought; she heard Kathey shouting from another side, “Mam, Rose, madam is waiting for you on the breakfast table."
“Let her know I am on my way.”.
Stating that Eva was rushing to her washroom, she rapidly completed her morning routine and soon entered the living room. It was the first time Eva’s eyes were searching for Stephen, as she has to first apologize to him and then request him for the envelope
But it was looking like a bad day for her, as she only found Rose, who was waiting for her
“Good morning, dear."
“Good morning, Rose."
“Now come on, let’s start with your breakfast; otherwise, you will be late, and then I don’t want you to leave empty stomach, ok?”
Eva gave a smile at her care and started with her breakfast, but she didn’t have any interest in the food that was served on her plate as her mind was searching for suitable words to ask Rose about Stephen and then the envelope.
To be honest, it scared her first to face Rose.
What if Stephen had complained about her to Rose?
, precisely that she was invading his privacy.
But looking at rose’s smiling face, she was sure that rose knew nothing about her activities last night
Eva finished her breakfast halfheartedly. She was still going through a dilemma about whether to ask Rose.
The moment she finished her breakfast, Rose kept an envelope in front of her
"Stephen came across this misplaced envelope in his study and requested that I deliver it to you. Richard highlighted its significance earlier today. So just signed and then I will courier it."
Tears of happiness brimmed in Eva’s eyes. She quickly signed the documents and passed them along with the address to Rose
“Thank you so much, Rose."
“Well, it’s Stephen who deserves this thanks, not me. “
“Yes... Yes, I will thank him too. “
Rose patted her cheek, and Eva left for her class with a joyful heart.
The moment she entered the class, she noticed she was late and missed half of her first lecture.
To her trouble, Jacey was also not present in the class.
Eva just sat in her chair and started with her work.
She was thinking about how she could get the missed notes.
Except for Jacey, she doesn’t talk to anyone else; she was just limiting them to hi and bye.
It was lunchtime when Eva asked someone for notes. Before she could reach her, a bunch of pages landed on her table. She looked up and found Harry, who was giving a charming smile to her.
“ I know you missed this; you can copy it from my notes. “
“It’s not needed. Thank you for your help, but I will manage."
“And exactly how will you do this? “
“Hmm, what do you mean?”
“No, I just mean that the others were not even paying attention to notes, so I think they didn’t note down the complete points. So I am the only one who has this complete. Well, still, it’s your wish. I am going to the cafe to grab some coffee. You can copy this till then, okay?”
Eva doesn’t know how to react, and Harry leaves the class. Eva called one of the girls
And asked her for notes; she passed it to her. Eva compared her notes with Harry's; she was shocked as he was stating the truth. She quietly returned the notes to the girl with a small thank you and quickly started writing the incomplete work of Harry‘s notes
The first thing Eva noticed was his excellent handwriting. It’s like someone splattered the pearls on the paper, so neatly written. She kept the compliments aside and completed the work at a fast speed.
. Harry returned to his chair with a cup of coffee. He smirked when he noticed Eva was using his work. He slowly reached near her and kept the coffee cup on her table. Eva looked at him, then at the coffee. Before she could deny it, Harry started
“Have it? You really need it."
Eva took a deep breath and took hold of the cup as he was right after going through so much in the morning she really needed it. Harry gave a warm smile at her and returned to his chair.
As the class got ended, Eva reached near Harry and returned him the notebook
“Thank you."
“My pleasure. If you need any other help, you can tell me anytime.”
Eva just gave a nod at him and started walking towards the exit where the bodyguard was waiting for her.
Soon she started her journey home. All the way she was thinking a lot today about how Harry helped her.
He was looking to be a decent guy, but she recalled William’s warning and stuck to William's advice.
Active 1: When she reached home, Rose hurriedly approached Eva, who got jolted by her behavior and once again became scared of the complaining thing. Rose held her hand and almost drag her to her bedroom
"Rose, what happened?”
“Eva, we have to attend an important party today. I mean, it’s not so important for me, but for you it is. See, I chose these dresses for you; now you choose what you will wear.
“Hmm, not important for you, but important for me. What are you talking about?
“Actually, oh my bad, I didn’t tell you and in excitement, I just jumped on the dressing part."
"Actually, Richard’s dad called me. He has arranged a surprise birthday party for Richard, and they invited us, so I want you to look the best today. Just steal the show."
Eva smiled at her excitement. "Rose, but why should I steal the show?
“You are crushing on him, right? so what if he also got a crush on you, Then you can date each other Don’t worry about Michael, as I will talk to him about you and Richard ,even if you both want to get married in the future? That’s a promise, dear."
Eva giggled at her thought process. “woah! stop it Rose, yes, I have a crush on him, but not only because of his looks or style; it’s more on his talent.
He is my mentor and my inspiration, too.
So getting married is not even on the list. It’s just a fortunate coincidence that I came here to live with your family and I found him to be your family friend.
Trust me, it’s more than enough that I met him, as it’s very rare to meet your crush, but I did.

Rose got upset listening to this. As for her, she already played a matchmaker between Richard and Eva in her thoughts, but after listening to this silly girl, she had no option left
"Ok, I got it, but still, you can choose to wear something from these dresses
Eva attempted to voice her objection, but Rose interrupted her by raising her hand.
“No arguments this time; just wear one of these, OK? And yes, we are starting at 8.”
After Rose left her room, Eva was busy with her thoughts.
It’s a birthday party because everyone will give him gifts, except me, what I should give him.
And since the things that they accustomed him to are over her budget, what options does she have?
A sudden idea came to her mind, and she reached the kitchen.
To her relief, she found only Kathey working in the kitchen, so she asked her.
“Can I use this kitchen? I mean, I want to cook something.”

“Thank you. Can you please tell me about these ingredients? I mean, if it is available,orelse I will grab it from a nearby store. “
Kathy read the list on her phone: “Eva mam, we have all this; let me help you with ingredients."
Soon Eva got busy making her favorite cupcakes. It was her special recipe. She was moving the ingredients when the Smith men reached the dining room. When Stephen saw Eva working in the kitchen, he knitted his brows in bitterness. Why did she have to work in the kitchen?
While Steve smirked, he quickly reached Eva's side, and Eva just ignored his presence. After all, she was too skilled in this now
“What are you doing, dear?”
“Making cupcakes. “
“Hmm, interesting, I love cupcakes and see how you know my choice, hmm. “
Eva paid no attention to his comment, while Stephen scrutinized everything with a stern look. He couldn't take his eyes off the kitchen counter, where his lifeline stood, while his brother shamelessly flirted with her.
Eva picked up a bowl and started mixing it in the batter, so Steve asked in curiosity, “What is this?”
“Sugar for sweetness."
Steve gave a serious look to Eva. “Why are you adding this? Trust me, you just put your one finger in it and it will be full of sweetness."
Stephen gritted his teeth. He hoped to place Steve's face in the batter, but he had to maintain control over his emotions.
Whereas Eva stopped her beater and dipped a finger in the batter,

Steve almost jumped in excitement. It was the first time he was getting successful in his effort, but little did he know Eva. Steve winked at her but before he could say something, Eva wiped her finger on his cheeks, making him look like a clown

Whereas Eva laughed hard, so did Rose, who just entered the dining room, and Stephen wanted to applaud for his girl‘s act
“Mom, why are you laughing, watching what your darling did to me?”
“I saw it already, and trust me, you deserve more than this. Anyway, now you both start getting ready for the party.” Stephen and Steve left for their rooms “
“What are you doing, dear?”
“I wanted to gift him something, so I thought I should gift him these cupcakes.'
Rose smiled and teased her, "Are you sure that he is just your crush, and what was that, yes, mentor and inspiration?"
“100% “
“Ok then but please finish this quick as possible as we have to leave on time,
“Yes “
After an hour, Eva finished her task, coating the cupcakes with beautiful icing. She packed some of them in a beautiful box while keeping some in the fridge for the Smith family. Then she left for her room to get ready.
After getting ready, she reached the living room, and she wore a beautiful dress and applied minimum make-up. When Stephen spotted her descending the stairs, he was.
Again lost in her beauty, she was the most beautiful girl he ever came around. Her simplicity is something that attracts him more towards her. Rose showered her with compliments, whereas Steve threw a flying kiss at her, which she royally ignored.
They all were leaving the home when Eva called out for Stephen
For a minute Stephen thought he was hallucinating, still being turned around to see Eva standing in front of him, fidgeting with her fingers. Rose understood that she was hesitating to thank Stephen. She told William
“I think we should leave William, as I have to get some gift gifts from the store too, and Eva, dear, why don’t you come along with Stephen and Steve?”
Despite Eva's lack of acknowledgement, she felt compelled to give her consent, as declining everything would not be perceived well.
Steve left to attend to some call, leaving Eva and Stephen in the living room
Stephen noticed her nervous expression, and it was not something new for him as she was like this with him from day one. Stephen kept waiting for her to start
“Is there something you want to say? Or should we leave?”
"Hmm, no, I want..." Eva took a deep breath and then started, "Mr. Stephen, I am sorry for last night; trust me, I never wanted to enter your study or disturb your privacy, but it was the demand of the situation.
.. and also thank you for helping me out with that work and not complaining about me to Rose'. "
Stephen was on cloud nine, listening to her. Her words boosted her ego and desire for her. But he was helpless before his nature, so he guided his emotions well and started in his bitter tone.
“It’s ok, but next time if you need something from my study, then ask me."

Soon, they started the journey. It was torturous as Steve was sitting beside her, talking nonstop about his series of affairs.
He was narrating all this as his achievements.
Whereas Eva was not even taking an interest in his talks, she was only worried about the box to be carried properly as she doesn’t want the cupcakes to be spoiled.
Stephen, who was sitting in the front seat noticing Eva from the rearview mirror, noticed the way Eva was getting bored with Steve and he was glad about it but he was eager to know why she was holding the box so carefully
Active 1: After half an hour, they reached Richard's house, and when Eva stepped out of the car, the decorations mesmerized her.
Until now, she had been expecting only a few of Richard's or his dad's family friends to be invited because it was a surprise party.
However, the scene in front of her was the opposite of what she had imagined, as they adorned the beautiful villa with lavish decorations.
Eva was filled with regret over her decision to attend this party, and upon noticing the small box containing her cupcake, she promptly returned it to its place on the seat. She cannot embarrass herself or the Smith family in front of many people who belong to the elite class.
