Chapter 23 Confession
Eva lost her interest in swimming. She quit and returned to her. Room. She again cursed Stephen for spoiling her. peaceful time
Avoiding his presence, the first thing she did was strokes, and in long strokes she reached the side of the swimming pool.
She quickly reached towards the chair where her bathrobe was lying before she could pick it up.
Someone else did it for her. Eva closed her eyes in fear, as she could feel Stephen’s presence behind her.
In slow motion, Eva turned around to face her.
She found Stephen glaring at her with cold eyes.
Before she could ask for her bathrobe, Stephen helped her in wearing the bathrobe.
He was making her wear like she was a toddler. Eva was getting more nervous now.
When Stephen was tying the belt, Eva uttered,
“I am sorry, but trust me, it was just a stupid perception of my friends. I never meant it.”
Stephen directly looked into her eyes and then uttered in a loud voice, "I don’t care what people say or think for me, but I care what you believe. And I think I cleared your doubts, isn’tMiss Johnson?”
Eva blinked her eyes twice and then replied, She just want to get rid of this man
“Yes., of course. Ok goodnight."

The next morning, Rose announced her visit with Eva at Thompson Place for a high tea party. Eva was suffering from a cold, so she didn’t join them. Place
I surprised Stephen and William to hear the party plan
“Ok so they invited Eva too,William inquired
“Yes, Elena did."
Stephen gave her mother a disapproving look at her mother."Mom, I don’t think it’s a good idea. I don’t like that family, especially Elena
“Tell me something new, Stephen. It’s better if you accept that "Mom, the list of resentments is long. But yesterday I was glad that at least you didn’t add Eva to that
Stephen understood where this conversation was going so he quickly finished his breakfast and left for his office
William proceeded with the topic, "Rose, take proper security along with you, and please keep Eva near to you. Stephen is not wrong completely, as I also didn’t like that family much.”
“Don’t worry, I will take care."
William gave a nod to her and left for his office
It was evening time when Eva started for Thompson's place. Eva was already suffering from a cold. She was feeling feverish too, but she didn’t want to spoil Rose’s plan.
When they entered the lawn, Eva heard some barking noise, and she clutched Rose’s hand.
Rose didn’t understand at first, then realized that she has a fear of dogs, as Michael already mentioned to Rose
Mrs. Thompson, who reached to greet them, noticed their troubled expressions. She inquired, "Any problem?”
“Eva fears dogs. Can you please...”
"Ooh, ok, I got it, “Mrs Thompson orders one of his servant to fasten the dogs in their dog cabin
Eva gave a grateful smile to them and entered the party. As expected, the ladies attending the party belong to an elite club. All the ladies greeted Rose and gave a skeptical stare at Eva. which made Eva more uncomfortable. She was trying hard to cover up her nervous form
Elena was observing all this, and she smirked at Eva’s condition. Elena understood Eva is a very soft target, and this made her plan more lenient.
Elena reached out to Eva and greeted her with a fake smile. Eva returned the favor.
“What are you doing here with these ladies? Come with me as my friends are enjoying the first floor."
Eva wasn’t sure about this, so she looked at the rose
Rose understood, “Actually, Elena, Eva is a very shy type, so...”
“Don’t worry, I will take excellent care of her."
Rose gave a nod to her and then assured Eva
“If anytime you like to leave, tell me we will leave ok." rose tried to comfort her
Eva followed Elena to her lavish floor. Yes, Elena Thompson has a floor for herself, not a room in her house. Eva was glancing at the magnificent interiors of the floor. Soon they reached the living area of the floor. Eva noticed many youngsters who were enjoying drinks.
Elena made her settle on a couch and then ordered the waiter for a drink. When the waiter offered her the drink, Eva denied it politely.
“So Eva, tell me something about yourself. You don’t belong to LA, right?”
Eva gave a nod to her and truthfully described herself, her town, her dad, why she was staying at Smith's, and also about her classes.
Elena’s friends were already waiting for this moment. Soon they started mocking her about her dressing style, her way of talking, the way she carries herself, and whatnot.
Eva was feeling offended at their comments. She wanted to give a sweet comeback to them, but her headache and poor health were already making her condition worse. So she decided on to leave the party
She stood and said to Elena, "I don't think I belong here, so I'd like to leave.
Thanks for the hospitality; actually, thank you for one more thing.
I always use it to believe that an ample amount of money makes possible a good, attractive personality, but I was wrong.
Meeting your friends made me understand manners are not related to money, as they are influenced by one's upbringing.
“I hope you know whom you are talking to." Elena asked in rage
"Yes, I do, with a girl whose parents' money has spoiled her, and she still depends on them." And she likes to insult her guests. So thank you. “ Eva was ready with her answer soon; she left for the ground floor
It shocked Elena to hear her words; she never guessed that this ordinary-looking person could speak like this.
Her friends were shocked and even praised Eva in their minds, as they all know how ill-mannered Elena Thompson is.
Elena was burning in rage as her plan failed. When glancing at Eva’s red face, she panicked and rushed to her. Eva made an excuse for poor health, and Rose didn’t waste time, so she excused herself and started moving toward the lawn.
Rose recalled that she forgot her mobile in the living room, so she asked Eva to wait till she will get her phone from the living room
When Eva was waiting for Rose, she felt some barking sound. She panicked and looked. around soon, she spotted her fear coming to her
Without wasting a second, Eva made a run towards the exit gate, but her foot got tangled in the nearby chair, and her foot started bleeding too. In a panic she didn’t care about her injury and started running here and there to escape.
Steve was sitting in the restaurant, which belongs to Richard. He wanted to meet Richard, so he called Steve in his restaurant only.
Steve was sitting there with a disturbed look on his face. As grim as the moment he got this news from Richard about Eva and Stephen, he was very disturbed.
“So what are you here for?”
"You were lying about Eva and Stephen, right?"
“Wrong, I told you I know Stephen more than anybody else. , and I am sure that he is in love with Eva.“
“I don’t believe this."
“me. Ok, then come with you. I will make him confess in front of you. “
“No way he will never confess."
“He will, and I know how to make him spill the beans."
“Fine then, let’s check on your stupid ideology.” “
Soon they reached Stephen’s office. They were informed that Stephen is busy in a meeting in the conference hall so Steve and Richard waited for him in his cabin
After some moments, Stephen entered his cabin and was surprised to find Steve and Richard inside. He asked them about their sudden visit. Steve kept his silence, whereas Richard started with a smile
“I told Steve to reach here; know Stephen, you and Steve are my best friends, more like my brothers. So I want to share my happiness with you.
“What happiness are you talking about precisely?”
“I decided to get settled in life. I mean, I found someone special with whom I can spend my life happily."
“Hmm, and who is that unlucky girl?”
“You both know her very well, as she is none other than a beautiful angel, kind-hearted, and the owner of my heart. Eva Johnson.”
Steve got numb as he never expected this coming, whereas Stephen’s body got stiff, and he glared at Richard with red eyes. Steve was observing the change in Stephen’s body language.
“I know you must be thinking why I chose her. Well, first we both share the same interests and same profession too. I’ll already think that I will name my next restaurant in her name and you know she will manage that solely. “
Stephen’s grip on the paperweight was getting more firm listening to Richards’s words
Whereas Steve focused his eyes on Stephen, he could feel the rage in his eyes.
He realized Richard was playing with fire
Whereas Richard was narrating his fake love interest with a fake blush on his cheeks

Steve rushed to hold on to Stephen. He held Stephen firm by his waist and was trying to pull him away from Richard. Soon he got successful in pulling Stephen
Richard rubbed his throat and then started coughing
“. Why are you doing this? I mean, what is your problem if I like Eva?”
The moment Richard uttered her name, Stephen pushed Steve and again got hold of Richard’s collar
“Because she is mine. Eva Johnson is the only love. I will allow no one to even think about Eva and will make sure that she will have feelings for me and only me.”
Steve got numb, whereas Richard removed Stephen’s hold and settled on his seat
“Steve, I hope now you believe in my words and see how much he is in love with Eva. Bloody as****. He is ready to kill me for his love.“
It shocked Stephen to see his changed personality as he was now busy removing the creases
“What the hell is going on here?”
“Your love confession, sweetheart, “Richard replied with a smile
"Shut up, you fool. Steve, you tell me, ‘
“He is right; I was not believing in his gossip, so he..." Steve narrated it all
Stephen again reached to Richard and tried to punch him but Richard dodged his punch
“So Eva Johnson, hmm?" Richard teased Stephen
Stephen rubbed his temples in frustration, as he didn’t want to declare his love. For now, he needed to win Eva’s heart first
Steve was in shock, then he was excited and then his face got rigid
“This is not fair; you must have told us, “Steve complained
Stephen knew that there was no going back now, so he started, “I first wanted to win her over, then I am going to talk to mom and dad after getting her consent for this relationship."
“And how are you planning to do that?” Richard inquired
“That I don’t know,she asked, as she is too scared of me.”
Stephen narrated all the incidents when he tried to get close to her."
Steve smacked on his head, whereas Richard laughed. Stephen didn’t like their reaction so he asked
“What?”
“Stephen, are you sure you want to impress him? I mean, the way you approached her will make her feel only one emotion for you, and that is fear."
Stephen glared at Richard,“ whereas Steve commented.
“,” He is right; change your attitude.” “
Stephen gives a thought to their words and realizes that maybe they are right in their places.
"I don’t know these love strategies. I just did what I thought was right. however, I am already worried about Eva’s visit to Thompson’s place
I don’t trust Elena and her whole family. So, can you both please preach to me later?”
It shocked Steve to know this new information
“Eva went to her place, but why and how? I mean, she was in poor health when I met her in the morning. “
Stephen jerks his head toward Steve
"What did you say about poor health..? Well, I think I must check on her. Steve, will you attend my other scheduled meetings as I am going to Thompson's place?”
Steve gave a nod to Stephen, whereas Richard got along with Stephen
Soon they reached the Thompson villa. When they entered the gate, Eva came running to him and jumped in his arms. She was clinging to him.
It shocked Stephen to see Eva like this.
Her body was shivering and she was sobbing.

“Sh, what’s the matter?”
“Help me. They will kill me. “ The moment Eva finished her statement, Stephen’s demeanor changed and his eyes got red in rage
Still, he inquires in a soft tone

Eva pointed behind her without looking in that direction. She was sobbing, badly clutching Stephen
It shocked Stephen to discover two doggies who were still barking at Eva.
Stephen was quick to realize her fear; he held her close and whispered to her,
“Don’t worry, dear; I am here; no one will hurt you, ok. Just try to breathe, a deep breath, Eva."
Eva kept following his instructions as she was feeling safe with him.
Soon Stephen felt that she limped into his arms., which made Stephen terrified
