Chapter 35 Precious Possession
Eva didn’t waste more time and put all the dresses in the bag. In nervousness, she didn’t realize when her diamond bracelet also slipped inside the bag. She kept the bag in the same place where she found it moments before
She looks around to find a place to hide but she doesn’t locate one, so she entered the washroom as she could hear the footsteps approaching towards the closet
Soon after, Stephen arrived in the closet.
He removed his coat and started unbuttoning his shirt.
He was going to take a relaxing shower first. Stephen had a wonderful day today as first Michael himself put forward the marriage proposal of Eva.
Now he feels that his wish is going to come true soon.
He was searching for different ways to woo his girl.
, but he was confident about himself that he will do it
Eva started trembling in fear; her face paled. She wanted to get out of his room and how he would react if he found her in his room. Her nervousness increased tenfold when she heard footsteps nearing the washroom door. So in quick steps, she turns on the shower.
Whereas it shocked Stephen to hear the shower sound, he was eager to see who dared to enter his room in his absence.
Eva unclipped her hair in the bathroom and wet it with water until droplets dripped from her hair.
Before Stephen inquired and then attempted to forcefully open the door, it was conveniently unlocked, and Eva emerged from the washroom with wet hair, giving the impression that she had recently taken a shower.
Upon observing Stephen's appearance, Eva experienced a sensation of numbness as he appeared even more captivating with a few of his shirt buttons undone.
Eva understood well why her friends had dubbed him as a Greek god, so she averted her eyes from him.
Shocked and thrilled, Stephen had to blink his eyes to believe that he wasn't dreaming. He wiggled his eyebrows and looked at her
"What are you doing here in my room? That too this time? Don’t tell me you forgot the way to your room again.”
Eva was frightened, listening to his bitter tone, but she quickly made an excuse.
“ No, it’s not like that., I was taking a shower here, as in my washroom there was no water supply.
I don’t want to disturb Rose and William, and you were not present at home, so I thought I should use this washroom for a quick shower.
I am sorry. I know I must have taken permission from you.
Stephen tries to understand first
What she was actually saying as she said all this in one breath.
After getting her words, he noticed her appearance.
She was wearing a charming Mickey print nightdress.
The droplets of water were dampening her t-shirt, making it transparent.
He could see her milky skin and her figure in that wet shirt.
Stephen took a deep breath to restrain his desires, as he currently yearns to kiss her pink lips passionately until she is breathless. However, his actions will only intensify her dislike towards him; thus, he must refrain from engaging in a physical relationship with her for the time being.
Despite Stephen's awareness of her dishonesty, the rationale behind her falsehood and her actions in his room primarily captured him. As a result, Stephen pretended temporarily to believe her.

Eva tried to move ahead of him, but a firm grip on her hand stopped her. Her stomach dropped in anxiety, fearing that he would scold her or may punish her, and worse, he would complain about this to his parents.
Eva turns to look at him. It shocked her to see that Stephen was standing there holding her clip, which must have fallen down. He smiled at her and forwarded the clip
Eva grabbed the clip quickly and rushed out of his room. Stephen kept staring at her, and he chuckled at the way she made a run out of his room.
Stephen enters the washroom for a shower.
After completing his shower, he changes into his nightdress.
He held the white bag and started checking out the dresses one by one.
Stephen arranged the dresses properly on hangers, and then he opened the closet, which was locked.
He hung the dresses along with the other dresses that he bought in the same way.
He always appreciates Eva’s choice in clothing, as she always preferred decent dresses.
While in the process of retrieving the last dress, an item accidentally descended onto the floor.
His gaze fell upon the floor, and to his astonishment, he noticed the identical bracelet that Steve had presented to Eva, the very one she had adorned earlier in the day.
However, he suddenly realized that Eva must have been responsible for her bracelet in the bag.
The question was not how she came to know about this, but the fact remains that Eva is now aware of his interest in her.
Stephen grinned, looking at the bracelet and whispered, “now you know you are mine and I am going to get you soon.” “
Whereas the moment Eva reached in her room, she locked the door first and then slouched on the bed, sobbing badly She doesn’t know how to withstand with this news
She tried to recollect that when she actually tried to get Stephen’s attention, but she recalled nothing like that. Eva only tried to ignore Stephen, and the only emotion that she felt for him was fear. That’s all

She checked the time and realized that her friends and her dad must be on their respective flights. So calling them is no help to her
Her eyes closed on their own, and she soon fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Eva wakes up to the loud sound of her alarm. She quickly switches it off, her head throbbing with pain. To get rid of it, she had a shower first. While getting ready in front of the cabinet, all last night’s events were making her more anxious.

. The moment Sara picked up the call, Eva started sobbing badly
“What happened, Eva? Are you okay? You are scaring me, girl, Come on, tell me. “

“What are you talking about? Please tell me clearly."
“I found that bag in his room; what should I do now?’ And Dad also left me here for some more days. How will I manage now? Should I tell dad about this?"
“First try to relax yourself and take some deep breaths. Drink some water, Eva. Behaving like this will not help you anyway. And telling your dad about this will make him more worried for you; he is already stressed about his job, so I don’t think it’s a good idea for this moment."
Eva drank some water and tried to compose herself. Sara then started with her suggestions
“Okay, now answer my questions. In all these days, did Stephen ever misbehave with you or try to force you for something inappropriate?"
“No, he did nothing like that."
“Well, that’s positive news for us. See Eva, you know you have to stay there for some more days. So in these circumstances, it’s better that you should avoid him as much as you can."
“I am doing the same thing from the very first day."
“Then please follow it for some more days, and you have to make sure, Eva, that Stephen should not know that you have an idea about his feelings. I know it’s hard for a girl like you but still try.
“Eva just agreed with her. Sara talked to her for some more time, encouraging her to face the situation, then she disconnected the call.
A sudden knock disturbed her. She spotted the kathey on the door. She was there to inform Eva about breakfast.
Eva picked up her bag as she wanted to stay away from this house for some time, so it will be better if she attended the classes. Soon she arrived in the dining room; Steve, William, and Rose were already present there. She wished them and was glad that Stephen was not present there
She started with her breakfast, Looking at her so quiet and gloomy, the other people thought maybe she was still upset with her dad’s departure so they also didn’t initiate any talk as she needs some time to get over it
Soon, they heard some footsteps. Eva understood Stephen had arrived in the dining room. Stephen wished all of them, and to everyone’s surprise, he settled on the vacant chair beside Eva. The Smith family's faces were filled with teasing smiles due to his action, but Eve was frozen.
Stephen took out the bracelet from his pocket and placed it in front of Eva.
“You forgot it in my room last night."
It amazed Eva to notice the bracelet, as how come she didn’t notice this, even though she didn’t know when and where she dropped it?
“ Last night? “ Rose inquired in astonishment
“In your room. “ Steve was also curious
“What was she doing in your room? “ William finally inquired of the key question
"Nothing, dad, she was there to have a shower."
“Shower? With you?”’ Steve‘s eyes popped up and he screamed in surprise.
“Shut up, you fool. There was no water supply in her bathroom, so she used mine.”
“Water problem? In our house? No way. Not possible, as this never occurred before. “ Steve was doubtful
“Don’t worry, I already ordered the staff to look into this matter, “Stephen informed

“Eva dear, you know I have a bathroom in my room too, “Steve teased her, earning Stephen’s glare
“I know this is ok; I checked your room first, but the door was locked, so I decided to use Stephen’s washroom." Eva kept blabbering whatever excuse is coming to her mind
“You thought about me first. This thought is even giving peace to my heart: “ Steve teased again, keeping his hand on his chest
Stephen scowled at Steve, which made him stop as he didn’t want to leave for Australia
Eva just shook her head at his teasing; she quietly wore that bracelet and then informed rose
“I am going to my classes today. I already missed a lot of work.
“yeah for sure, “ Rose replied with a smile
Eva bid goodbye to them and left the mansion the moment she arrived near the car. It widened her eyes to see so many guards who were sitting in another car and were waiting for her to start.
She inquired the chauffeur, who opened the car door further
“Who are these people?”
"Mam, they are security guards appointed for your safety."
“But I don’t need this many safety measures .“
Tell your boss that I don’t need them."
“ You do," Stephen’s impersonal voice startled her
Eva turned around and encountered Stephen standing at a distance from her, dipped his hands in his pants pockets and he was glaring at Eva
“I have arranged more security for you, and you are not going out without them. And for the answer to your query, you need to, because I have just got an important deal from some strong competitors. They are quite influential people. I am scared that they will try to harm my family, so this arrangement is mandatory for you.”
“But I am not your family, so why will they harm me?”
“Did you forget about the gossip carried out in the media about us, So in their words, you are my most precious possession for the outer world so of course you are in much more danger than us .“

Eva was getting annoyed by the way he was ordering around her. Stephen could read her face, which is showing how frustrated she is with this information
“And one more important thing from now onwards, I am going to drop you off at your class and pick you up too, and if I don’t reach on time, Steve or dad will pick you up."
This news made Eva dumbstruck, as she was trying to avoid Stephen around her, too. Whereas he is not letting go of any chance to stay near her.
