Chapter 70 The Party
Stephen reached home on schedule and proceeded to his room to get ready. The moment he entered, his attention was captivated by Eva, who looked timeless in that dress.
Eva blushed when she noticed his gaze on her, but this happiness flew away when Stephen didn’t compliment her. Instead, he left for the closet.
Eva was getting confused and hurt by Stephen’s behavior.
Since they were married, he never missed a chance to compliment her and make her feel special.
But the next moment, Rose’s words rang in her mind.
Rose was indeed stating the facts, as she never even bothered to say some sweet utterances or compliment Stephen.
Shortly, they both left for the party. On the way to the club, it preoccupied Steven with his phone while Eva couldn’t help but sneak glances at him.
Stephen could feel her gaze a bit as he kept ignoring her attention, as suggested by Steve.
He was having a hard time while being treated like this with his love, his wife.
They reached the club and both of them entered the club. Mostly in these situations, Stephen used to hold her hand to comfort her as he understood her social anxiety, but today he didn’t do any sort of this.
Eva noticed the surroundings and appreciated the arrangements.
Steve, who was already present, reached out to them and detailed about the friends who already arrived at the party
“Where is Natalia? “Stephen inquired and Eva’s ear perked up
Steve, who was observing her, chuckled at her reaction but replied,
‘Come on, she is a celebrity model. She will take her time to show her status by getting late.
“No! I don’t agree that she has been a very punctual person. I think she must have stuck somewhere, or else she must be already here.”
Eva did not like the way Stephen was praising Natalia. Richard entered the club and joined them
“Sorry, I got a little late. Where is she? “
Steve informed him about the same
Richard gave a nod to them. Eva was getting annoyed because everyone was asking only about Natalia.
Steve chuckled, looking at Richard, as it was clear he had put a lot of effort on his looks

“In order to make a favorable impression on girls, it’s important to project confidence instead of behaving miserably in front of her.”

Steve shrugged his shoulders, and Richard tried his best to cover his nervousness
Soon Natalia arrived, surrounded by her security team. She noticed them and reached to their table
“Sorry, I got late; you know how these security people are. They didn’t let me start from the hotel until they made sure that noaround the hotel and following us. “
“Yes, we understand this, but I did not think you have to worry about this as nobody knew about your arrival in this city. “
“OK, now come on, let’s meet the friends. “
They set the party up on the first floor, and everyone made their way there.
Natalia got enthusiastic to greet her old friends.
Stephen also got busy mingling in the friend circle Eva tried to present beside him.
Stephen introduced Eva to the friends who were meeting her for the very first time.
Eva spotted a few familiar faces among them.
While at the bar during the party, Natalia was enjoying her drink when Richard approached her, attempting to start a conversation.
“Hi. I hope you haven’t erased me from your memory. We met during the morning hours.
Natalia gave a confused look at him
So Richard has to explain, “Remember at the studio today?”
“Ooh yes, you are Stephens’s friend, and a chef too."
““Yes. and I own many restaurants in this city. Whenever you visit next time, give a visit to my restaurant. I will arrange a special treat for you
Natalia smiled and replied, "Sorry, but I can't. I mean, I only follow diet food.

Yes, it is a habit. Unfortunately, I am not a foodie type of person so not very interested
Richard’s face fell, listening to her. The very next moment, Steve arrived there and passed a paper to Natalie and told her,

Natalia opened the chit and jumped in joy. She took Steve in a warm hug and told him
“Thank you so much, Steve. At last I got this.”
“My pleasure, “Steve replied while hugging her. He winked at Richard, who was glaring at them in shock
“What the hell! Richard spoke under his breath to himself.
At the same moment, someone called for Natalia, and she excused herself from there to meet them
Steve ordered his drink and told Richard, who was still giving a glare at him
“ She needed an appointment with a well-known surgeon for her sick mother; coincidentally, I know the surgeon, so I talked about this to the surgeon and just helped her in booking the appointment.”
“Which Surgeon? “
“Dr. Ryan Paul .“
Richard choked on his drink. “You mean my uncle Ryan?"

Stephen and Eva reached the bar and spotted Richard and Steve in a heated argument.
Stephen passed a soft drink to Eva and then reached for them
“ What’s happening here?” Stephen inquired in his bitter tone.
“Nothing, your dear friend, is getting jealous of my charming personality and about the fact that I earn a hug from Natalia."
Stephen shook his head at this nonsense conversation
“He is a declared jerk, but Richard, I didn’t hope this type of behavior is from you. “
Richard sighed in irritation but the next moment, his eyes landed on a person who had just entered the party and enveloped Natalia in a hug. A wide smile appeared on Richard’s lips. He chuckled and told Steve,
“Brace yourself, because all your good points are about to go down the drain.”
“I think he is still undergoing in shock or better lost his mind
“Well now, it’s your turn to get a shock. Just look at Natalia’s friend."
Steve spun around and found Samantha greeting Natalia. They are acting like friends
Richard laughed hard, looking at Steve’s pale face.
Whereas Eva got relieved looking at a familiar face, as from the moment she arrived at this party, she was feeling out of place, especially after the college mates of Stephen. They all belong to an elite class—the girls who know how to party.
Samantha and Natalie reached for them. Samantha greeted Richard and Stephen and gave a fake smile at Steve, who just gave a glare at her
Samantha took Eva in a warm hug and told Natalie, “You know, Natalia. Eva is such a gem of a person, a kind soul. Stephen is really lucky to have her. “
“Stephen truly deserves it, being the gentleman and loyal man that he is. I’m thrilled for him.” Natalia complimented Stephen
"Yeah, correct; sometimes I can’t believe that Steve is his actual brother."
Richard pressed his lips in a thin line, whereas Steve tried to excuse himself, but Samantha stopped him and asked Natalia
“Didn’t you meet him yet?”
“I do, and even he helped me with something. He is such a sweet person, not cold in behavior like his brother, “Natalia chuckled, looking at Stephen, who royally ignored her comment
“Really!! That is strange, as he is such a self-centered, selfish, and jerk type of man.
“Oh really, look who’s talking—the same woman who never gives a shit about others feelings."
“about others’ feelings or your feelings. What do you mean, you jerk?” Samantha was all ready to put on a fight
“enough guys, we are in a party for god’s sake, “Richard interfered
Stephen dragged Steve along withand Natalia excused herself from this uncomfortable situation and reached the dance floor. Samantha ordered a drink for herself.
Eva sighed, looking at Samantha, who was still glaring at Steve, who was now on the dance floor.
“Is that Stephen?”
Eva’s shock grew as she looked at the floor and saw Stephen dancing with Natalia. Steve was enjoying dancing with some other girl.
“What happened to him? Why is he acting like this? “
“What do you mean? “
“I have known him since college. He used to avoid girls like anything. It’s the very first time I am watching him dancing with some girl."
“I don’t understand either. From the day Natalia came up, he is behaving weird with me, “Eva briefed Samantha about the recent happenings

“I don’t believe this. There must be some potent reason for his behavior. You know you must confront him."
Eva sighed and noticed how Stephen was smiling at what Natalia told him. Something broke inside her. He went to dance and did not even ask her. She felt her throat parching, so she excused herself and reached the bar counter to ask for some cold drinks.
Some other girls present at the bar counter were busy praising Stephen without noticing Eva’s presence near
“God, he is looking hot, just like the college days."
“He always been the eye candy of our college, and after years too, nothing changed."
“Other than his status, he is now taken as a married man,” another girl commented with a sigh.
“Hmm, but I never expected him to marry a simple girl. Isn’t he looking promising with Natalia?
“Yes, they make a good pair
"What can I get for you, madam?”
The bartender‘s voice broke her focus on the other girls. She looked at the man and ordered for something strong
The bartender soon served her the drink
At first Eva found the taste much bitter, but after a few sips she started gulping the drink. Her eyes were stuck on Stephen, who was still on the dance floor with Natalia.
After finishing her drink, she quickly requested a refill and swiftly consumed the bitter liquid. Her eyes welled up with tears. It displeased her with how Stephen continually avoided her, especially when he danced with another woman who was both beautiful and capable of captivating any man.
“Can I get a drink for you?”
The resonance of a deep, manly voice disrupted her chain of thoughts. Glancing over her shoulder, she discovered a strikingly handsome man seated next to her.
A playful smirk peaked on Eva’s lips.
Someone is about to get a taste of their own medicine.
