Chapter 7 #2
“You’re taking your punishment so well,” Bressen rasped in my ear. “I think you enjoy it too much when I fuck you like this.”
Maybe I did, but I refused to feel guilty for that.
Bressen’s fingers moved up to thread through my hair, and I winced at his grip.
His other hand wrapped around my hip, and I knew I’d have bruises where his fingers dug in, but the pain tethered me somehow, and I pressed my forehead against the table.
Inside the bodice of my dress, I felt my nipples strain against the fabric, and they only grew tighter as my breasts rubbed against the table with each thrust.
Bressen’s driving grew faster, his grunting harder, and I knew he must be close. I likely wouldn’t climax myself, but he’d take care of me when he was done. I knew that much.
He roared his release only seconds later as he shoved into me with a few last deep thrusts, and I felt his cock pulse as he pushed in as far as he could go to spend himself inside me.
The tension in his body eased a moment later as he collapsed over me, and I let out a soft whimper as his body covered mine, his breathing heavy against my ear.
I took stock of my body. My hips would be bruised where they’d been driven into the edge of the table, and I felt a dull ache between my legs where he’d slammed into me.
My scalp twinged from his grip on my hair, but I was fine overall.
Moreover, the bruises and aches were like badges of triumph for me, proof of how wild I could drive Bressen.
I hadn’t climaxed. I’d been close, but Bressen had stopped before I could get all the way there. He’d finish me soon, though. He never left me wanting for more than a few minutes.
As the haze of pain and pleasure cleared, though, I felt something else.
My head snapped up toward the doorway as I sensed the other presence in the room, and my heart dropped into my stomach.
Axenus stood a few steps inside the room, his sword drawn as he looked in horror at us.
There was something frantic in Axenus’s gaze as his eyes locked with mine, and I had the terrible feeling he was seeing himself in me. I felt a jumble of emotions rolling off him, but concern was at the forefront, followed by confusion.
He looked like he’d come running into the room, undoubtedly drawn by my screams, only to be drawn up short.
Gods above. How much had he seen?
“Cyra, are you…,” Bressen started to say as he rose slowly off me.
Bressen, Axenus is here, I said into his mind, and his body went rigid as his head snapped up.
He immediately pulled out of me and straightened up when he saw the merman. He drew me off the table with him and yanked the skirt of my dress back down as he pushed me behind him to shield me from Axenus’s gaze.
“Axenus, this isn’t what it looks like,” Bressen said quickly.
Axenus’s eyes flicked from Bressen to me where I looked out from behind him, and I shook my head. “It’s not,” I assured him. “I’m fine.”
Axenus’s grip tightened on the handle of his sword before it eased again, but he didn’t resheathe it. He seemed ready to attack Bressen, the man who’d saved him from slavery, if I was actually being forced.
I wondered what he would’ve done if Bressen really had been attacking me. Would the urge to save me have overridden his loyalty to Bressen? I’m not sure I wanted to know.
Axenus’s throat bobbed as he swallowed heavily. “I heard Cyra scream,” he said. He turned an accusatory look on Bressen, and Bressen’s chin went up.
I put a hand on Bressen’s arm. I needed to get him out of here. “You said you had work to do. Why don’t you go up to your study, and I’ll explain things to Axenus.”
What exactly I’d say, I had no idea, but Axenus still looked ready to attack Bressen, and I knew he wouldn’t trust anything I had to say with Bressen around.
“Cyra, I don’t-” Bressen started to say, but I cut him off.
Go, I said into his mind. Axenus needs to hear it from me that I’m alright. Your presence won’t help anything.
Bressen sighed heavily, and I felt him warring with himself. He usually held me close after fucking me hard and made sure I found my own pleasure, but that would have to wait for later. He didn’t want to leave me alone right now, but he knew I was right.
With a resigned sigh, he nodded. I love you, he said into my mind.
I gave him a small smile. I love you too.
Bressen pressed a kiss to my forehead and strode to the door. He slowed as he reached Axenus, who hadn’t yielded the grip on his sword.
“I’m sorry you saw that, Axe,” he said. Then he was gone.
Axenus seemed to freeze at the words, and he waited several seconds – presumably for Bressen to make his way down the hall – before he resheathed his sword and turned to me.
“Come sit down,” I said as I headed for the armchairs by the fireplace.
Axenus followed silently and sat across from me in one of the chairs.
I opened my mouth to speak, but Axenus beat me to it.
“Did he hurt you?” he asked, and I realized he was angry. I’d only ever seen him angry one other time, and that was after I’d accidentally dream walked into his nightmare with Clarice and Magdalene.
