Epilogue

Gavin stood on his skates in front of the reporters, a wide smile on his face.
The Teen Renegades just won the Rookie League playoffs, something my pack helped start as Gavin aged out of the juniors at fifteen.
He was eighteen now and had grown into an incredible delta.
He was heading off to college at the end of the summer and I was hellbent on spending every second we could together.
“You’ve been called a natural by quite a few professionals. What do you attribute to keeping your game strong?”
“My parents,” Gavin said easily. My chest tightened and I fought hard against the tears.
Around fourteen he started introducing us as his parents to new friends and at school.
After that we rewrote our history. He had always been mine anyway.
“They taught me true strength and discipline. I couldn’t be more thankful for the inspiration they’ve always given me. ”
He raised a gloved hand and pointed right at us. I clutched my alpha and delta’s hand in mine, giving him a watery smile as the reporters turned to us and snapped a few shots. I knew exactly what those images would reflect. Proud faces and tears.
We had come a long way from the two broken kids who fought their way out from under our biological mother’s grasp.
She hadn’t bothered to reach out once to us. I counted that as a small blessing. That woman had no place here with us.
Conrad’s hand went right to my stomach. He cradled it in that possessive but sweet way he had. They hadn’t stopped touching me since we bonded and it only amped up when I was finally ready to have a baby.
Gavin was over the moon and so were we.
I never thought I’d want this. At first I wanted a selfish few years of being a pack and giving Gavin everything he missed. But as he got older and we settled into our everyday lives, I started to crave something else.
Another kid. One that would call me Mom from day one. A baby that would have the best big brother at her back and a pack full of sweet and possessive daddies.
That and a slew of cousins at their side. Roxie and Lana and their packs were truly our village. We spent long weekends together, taking turns between the three towns and making sure our connection stayed strong.
Found family was truly the best kind. I never questioned their loyalty or care. Every single one of them was important to me now.
Gavin had even spent last summer with Lana and her pack for a summer camp they were running for the local kids.
If anyone would have asked me years ago if I could see a future with anyone, I would have said no. Me and my body were locked into survival mode and couldn’t dare hope for anything more.
Now I had three amazing mates, all who retired recently, and a growing family. We intended to help Gavin settle into college and expand our current vacation home business, live our lives side by side and grow our family.
This baby would get as much love as Gavin received and I couldn’t wait to witness yet another new era with the pack that helped me piece myself back together.
