Chapter 23
Chapter
Twenty-Three
Roxie
Something warm and content echoed so strong in my chest that it woke me up from a dead sleep. I blinked my eyes open and then shifted, groaning at the sharp ache in my entire body.
“Hey there, little bat,” Greer’s sleepy voice was hoarse and sexy. A soft smile spread across my face as I stared into his green eyes. This close they were a dark green that reminded me of a forest.
“How are you feeling today?” he asked carefully.
“If you’re waiting for me to freak out, it’s not going to happen, delta. I made my choice to join your rut and I don’t regret it.”
He closed his eyes as a wave of relief flooded through the bond.
Holy shit, I was a bonded omega.
“You deserved a better first time with me than that,” he started but I pressed my lips to his to silence him.
“Stop. We talked about this. No regrets and that was one hell of a first time. I’ll remember it forever,” I promised.
“I don’t think I’ve ever felt so whole. I will spend the rest of our lives together proving that I belong here. That I’m worthy of you.”
“I know you are and we will take care of each other,” I promised, kissing him again. “Although, hopefully, that rut put you in a better mood, delta. You have quite the reputation for being a grump.” I tapped my finger against his nose, earning a lopsided grin.
“Much better now,” he promised, before sobering. “Losing your omega will do that to you...”
“I’m shocked neither of you got sick,” I admitted. It was my first thought when I heard their story.
“That just shows how bad things had gotten. We were both so stubborn and neither wanted to budge, it drove a wedge big enough to tear us apart long before I left.”
“And now you both have a second chance, delta. This time, you get to take care of him properly and he gets to do the same. We’ll make this pack work.”
“I’m going to take care of both of you,” he corrected, leaning forward and teasing his lips over mine before taking it deeper. His kiss was consuming and dominating. The type of kiss that wiped every thought from your head.
My naked breasts rubbed against his chest, our hips shifting forward on instinct. He was so much more confident now that he could read my emotions and needs through the bond.
There was no hesitation as he hooked my leg over his hip and lined himself up, pressing into me in one lazy shift of his hips. This was so different from last night my head was spinning.
My orgasm built just as slowly, but the promise of it was sending shocks of pure electricity through me. As his knot swelled, pulsing against me, it hit. I tried to stay quiet since Rylan was sleeping, my mouth falling open in a silent scream as I fell apart, body squeezing Greer’s knot.
He didn’t falter once, his eyes and the bond showing the same level of devotion. I’d never been fucked like this like I was something precious and coveted and I knew if I wasn’t careful I could easily get addicted to this man’s attention.
“I’ll never get tired of the sight of the two of you together like this,” Rylan said. I glanced over to find him watching us, eyes half dazed still, hair a curly mess, but he never looked sexier.
Rylan shifted closer, giving me a chance to claim his plump lips in a kiss. It wasn’t as sweet as Greer’s but I loved it the same.
My omega’s hands ran up and down my spine before landing on my naked ass. He squeezed my cheeks and rocked against me.
Their scents were amazing together, the tart and sweet scent of my omega mixing with the slightly spice woodsy scent of our delta.
Rylan latched his mouth onto the bite mark on my neck, rubbing against my ass from behind, rutting against me as he chased his own release.
It was a raw and primal moment, dirtier than I’ve ever had. These two were introducing me to a far different world of sex than I’d ever experienced. The bond only enhanced the moment. I felt every heightened euphoric release three times over, so intense it had me coming with Rylan.
Greer held me close as I fell apart from them once again. Rylan’s cum painted my ass while our delta came deep inside my pussy.
With Greer's knot vibrating against me, my orgasm dragged on to excruciating lengths before I collapsed against him, unable to take more.
Thank god their knots don’t hold as long as an alpha’s. Omegas might never survive. Right when I wasn’t sure I could take another second he released me, giving me a sweet reprieve.
Our peace was short lived as someone knocked hard on the door before it was shoved open.
Kota, who apparently had zero boundaries, walked in, grinning at the sight of us.
“I’m so sad I missed out on the party.”
“Get the fuck out, Kota,” Greer said, though it lacked the bite it used to have. I guess a rut and several orgasms could change a man.
Kota simply adjusted himself in his pants and laughed.
“Daddy Hayes is downstairs making us all some breakfast. Are you feeling like getting out of bed yet?”
Greer thought it over. “I am actually doing better.”
I almost laughed at how reluctant the delta seemed to let us go.
“Good, because we have practice this afternoon and a game tomorrow.”
“I should probably finish my article anyway,” I said, not even bothering to hide the disappointment in my voice.
“We have a game tomorrow, so Coach won’t be riding us too hard. If you’d like to just ride over with us.”
“How quickly after breakfast do we have to go? I kind of want to explore this estate of yours,” I teased, watching him blush. It only made it that much more amusing.
“You know what? I would, too,” Greer said while giving my ass a smack, both of us groaning when I shifted away. “Well, that one backfired.”
“You’re hogging all the omegas, Greer. This doesn’t feel like sharing, and sharing is caring after all.”
“Thanks for covering for us,” Greer said, surprising us all. “You got me out of there before word could spread, which is obviously important in the hockey world. I appreciate you having my back.”
“No problem,” Kota said, looking pleased. “I’m glad to see they fucked some of the grumpiness out of you, old man. Now get your asses downstairs before we all get in trouble.”
It wasn’t the quickest shower of our lives, but the guys dragged me into it, washing me carefully before themselves. Every bit of our self-control was used before we ended up going for another round.
I was practically glowing when we made it to the kitchen. Something had shifted within the pack. We were still so new that it shouldn’t have been this comfortable yet, but some of the awkwardness had been chased away.
I’d already bonded with half the pack, and there was no denying that there was chemistry between all of them, too.
“Good morning,” I said, walking over to the counter and staring at the fancy coffee machine like it might somehow tell me how to use it.
“I’ve got you, little bat,” Kota said, placing a kiss against my temple. “How strong do you like it?”
“Ridiculously strong and ridiculously sweet.”
“Just like you, little bat,” he teased, grinning widely as he got to work on his fancy machine.
I turned to Hayes, who was pulling pancakes off the griddle.
“That smells incredible. Thank you for cooking for us.”
“I figured you all were going to need your energy after that,” he said simply, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
I hopped up on the counter, watching him work. He was so casual right now in just sweatpants and a loose T-shirt that I was absolutely going to steal later for a nest.
“Is it bad that I kind of like this little bubble we’ve created here? I don’t want it to end. I wish we could stay here longer,” I said as I glanced around at my pack. Everyone was content right now and I wanted to soak it in.
“We can, little bat,” Kota answered easily. “We can all move in here. It’s still in town, fairly close to the arena, and there’s plenty of space for everything we need. Greer and I can find dens. The omegas can find nests. Honestly, we can change anything we need to change.”
“That does sound nice,” I hedged, looking around to see the other’s reactions. Rylan looked eager, but the other two were cautious.
“As awful as this is going to sound, I have plenty of money to renovate as well. I don’t want to change the core of this place, but I want it to be ours.”
“Thank you, delta,” I said, smiling sweetly.
“Anything for you.” He blew me a kiss before dancing over to the refrigerator to grab creamer.
He didn’t add it for me, but he watched intently while I added my own, mixing it up, tasting it, and adding a little extra splash.
He leaned in, looking at the color before raising an eyebrow and shaking his head.
“You weren’t kidding.”
I just hummed happily as I drank the warm mug of coffee, hoping it would chase away some of the fatigue still clinging to my bones.
I’d never been through a rut before. They can last anywhere from a day to several and part of me was disappointed it was so quick.
I’d never been fucked so thoroughly. Last night was fucking incredible. However, I was grateful it was short as well since it’s right in the middle of the season and us becoming a pack.
Kota put the creamer away and started setting the table, leaving me and Hayes alone for a moment.
“How are you feeling about everything?” I asked, my voice quiet so the conversation stayed between us.
“I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about pack life, but I kind of like it. It’s nice having people in my life. Not just the team, but people to come home to.”
“Coach likes us,” Kota sang out. Hayes rolled his eyes and jabbed a spatula toward the delta.
“Well, except for that one,” he said. He pressed his lips together so he couldn’t laugh.
“How are you feeling after last night? Nothing went further than you wanted, right?” His eyes drifted down to the marks that were on display thanks to the oversized shirt I was wearing hanging off one shoulder.
“No. Everything went perfectly last night. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier,” I admitted.
“Good.” He turned off the stove and stepped closer so he was standing between my legs. His face was serious as he studied me. “I’m sorry about—”
I jolted forward and crashed my lips to his, refusing to let him apologize for anything.
He groaned and stepped forward, kissing me deeply before pulling away.
“Don’t even think about it, omega.”
“Don’t you even think about apologizing for anything. We’re past it. You were an asshole, we have acknowledged it, and now we’re moving on.”
“But—” I pointed a finger at him and he cut himself off, looking exasperated.
“I’m so tired of everyone beating themselves up. We’re going to have a nice breakfast. You are going to go back to being the big, bad coach when we get to the arena, and I will be the sassy, cute journalist who’s going to follow all your players around.”
“Oh, is that how you see it?” he asked, laughing and shaking his head before burying his nose in my neck and breathing deep. “I might never get over being able to breathe you in like this, omega.”
Then he was pulling me off the counter and over to the table, sitting me down in his lap.
It seemed my guys liked putting me in their laps.
He made one giant plate for both of us, spearing a bite and holding it up to my lips.
I raised an eyebrow.
“Little bat, open your mouth.”
“Yes, alpha,” I said sarcastically before letting my mouth drop open.
He popped the fork past my lips, and I wrapped my mouth around it before chewing.
He watched the movement, his chest rumbling in a soft purr. God, they were so easy to please and so cute. I adored this pack, even though I wouldn’t have said that even a week ago.
It was insane how fast finding your pack was.
In the blink of an eye, I went from a single journalist to an omega with a pack.
A bonded omega at that.
“So, we’re all in agreement that we need a few things to make this house work, right?” Kota said before shoving his mouth full of bacon and chewing happily.
After learning about the coldness of his family and losing his grandparents, I couldn’t blame him for diving headfirst into making this place a home.
“We can walk around after breakfast and figure out what rooms everybody will be staying in,” Greer said. He was already warming up to the idea.
“I’m going to say right now before we get too far here, that I’m never going to divide my time exactly equally between you.
I want this to feel natural and if I feel like I’m constantly on a schedule, it will drive me crazy.
If one of you needs me, I want to be there without having to give the others an IOU. ”
“I’d love for all of us to have our own spaces, too,” Rylan said. “I’m sure it’ll be fun dividing our time between our mates, but sometimes an omega needs space. Not just a nest, but space.”
“Don’t worry. There’s plenty of rooms for that,” Kota reassured him.
“There’s an outdoor shopping complex a few hours away that has stores for every designation. We can get things for our rooms and the dens and nests,” Hayes said. “I looked it up this morning and it looks pretty nice.”
“That sounds amazing,” Greer said. “We’ll make a day out of it.”
Just like that, my pack was a family. Planning to turn our pack house into a real home, working out dates, sharing rides to work.
The omega in me was loving every second of this.
