Chapter 28

Chapter

Twenty-Eight

Roxie

Despite the intensity the night before, I was feeling fairly sane when I woke up.

The guys were still passed out when I crawled out of bed. All the extra sleep during the drive last night and a full night of sleep was enough for me.

I snagged my phone and my laptop from my bag that was waiting by the door and headed down for the living room.

My notifications were going insane when I opened my phone. Not just my email and texts, but just about every social media platform I had.

Right there at the top was a missed call from Jeremiah Kingsford.

Holy shit.

I tapped the notification and quickly called him back, desperate to find out what he thought about the first article. I’d all but forgotten it thanks to my dad’s bullshit and the heat spike.

“There she is,” he boomed when he answered. His voice was practically giddy. Clearly, the article has gone over well.

“I take it you saw my email and the article,” I hedged.

“The ratings are already in. We’ve shot up in popularity and mentions. The Narwhals are getting major coverage now and the tides have turned. I knew I made the right choice hiring you.”

“Oh, wow, sir. I’m so glad that it went over well. The team has been so great and they’ve been forthcoming every time I’ve asked to chat.”

He hummed in approval. “As I knew they would be. We cleared house and now our team and coach are locked in and have the right mindset.”

“I’ve watched them in action. The coach truly cares about the team and all of your players want to be here,” I agreed easily.

“It makes a difference, doesn’t it?” He chuckled. “Just one more article and I think we’re golden. The fault of our old players will no longer be our burden.”

“Perfect. I was just about to start working on it. I’m thinking something that covers the rivalries a bit, what motivates the players, and more of the games’ statistics. Is there anything else in particular you want me to include?”

“Oh no, don’t take my input. You, clearly, know what you’re doing. I simply wanted to tell you what a good job you’ve done.”

“Well, thank you, sir,” I said, pride beaming through me.

We hung up quickly, and I pulled open my laptop. My fingers were itching to type as we talked. The ideas were forming in my mind.

I knew exactly the angle I wanted to go with.

“Team loyalty and talent has never been a problem with the Narwhals,” I muttered as I typed it out. The words practically spilled out of me. I always zoned out in moments like this.

This was the sort of high I always chased. The feeling of accomplishment was nice, but I thrived in the details. Searching out the facts, using them to spin the story into something truthful, but exciting and impactful to read.

I’d cut out so much from the first article that I had plenty of ammo to mix in.

It was funny how I’d spend weeks preparing to write an article, talking to each player, finding out who they were behind the scenes, what motivated them, what superstitious pregame rituals they had, just to be condensed into a single story.

The first draft floated out of me. There would be plenty of edits to focus on, along with rewrites and fact checking. But it was on page and I was damn proud of it.

As soon as I closed my laptop, the world rushed back in. I could hear my pack moving through the house. There was a cold plate of food on the table in front of me that I had, apparently, ignored.

“Oh, look she’s alive,” Kota teased as he flopped down on the couch next to me. There was a fresh plate of food in his hands. I thought he was going to eat but he handed it to me.

“We had a bet on whether you would even eat that, so I put an extra plate in the fridge as well. I just heated it back up, so it’s actually warm.”

My cheeks burned as I realized they had probably all tried and failed to have conversations with me.

I opened my mouth to argue but he gently pushed the plate closer.

“Eat,” he demanded. “Before Hayes comes in here and tries to feed you himself.”

That had me shoveling the food into my mouth. He chuckled and waited to chat until I was slowing down again. I wasn’t sure what it was with my pack watching me eat, but I swear this pack loved it.

“How are you feeling?” he asked. He took my empty plate and sat it on the table before giving me his full attention.

“My body hurts a bit but, clearly, the fog lifted. Now that I’ve stopped I’m feeling a bit achy and dizzy,” I said after assessing how I felt.

“We’ll just take it easy today. Coach already called a pack heat into the AHA, so we’re home free for at least a week, if not more depending on when it hits.”

He pulled my feet into his lap, his hands working out the sore spots with a soft smile on his face.

It was nice to be surrounded by people that genuinely wanted to be in my presence.

They liked having me around and couldn’t help but touch me or pull me closer.

These men reminded me daily that they were happy I was in their lives.

My omega seemed to latch onto that thought before letting all the rest fall away. The anxiety, fear… all of it seemed to simply vanish.

She’d fully accepted them as ours. Just like I had.

When I looked back up at Kota he was grinning. “Your omega finally accepted us, didn’t she?”

I think she finally realized you won’t go anywhere. That this was never temporary and no matter if my father didn’t care about me, that it didn’t matter. He was never important to us and never will be.

“She’s finally realizing we would never do that to you or any kids we might have.” He sounded so sure and confident, as if he could read her without a bond. I couldn’t imagine how much more intense that would be with our connection in place.

“I’ve always wanted a big family because mine was so small,” I admitted.

“Me, too,” he agreed. “I always wished I had siblings or cousins around to get through family dinners. Kids to play with when I was little. I want that kind of life for our family one day.”

“We’re creating that here,” I said firmly.

“That we are, little bat.” He leaned forward to steal a kiss.

One wasn’t enough for us. Just a single breath of his scent, a tease of a kiss, and I was grabbing his shirt and pulling him closer.

My omega surged forward, gripping Kota's shirt and pulling him towards us. She decided she wanted him and she wanted him now.

Kota made a sound of surprise, but it quickly morphed into a moan as my hips rocked up to meet his. I perfumed at the feel of my delta already hard for me.

My scent was a strong cloud in the air now. Kota skimmed his nose up my jaw, breathing in deep, a possessive and greedy groan echoing out in response.

Nothing made me and my omega happier than knowing they were drowning in us and loving every minute of it.

“You better bite me,” I demanded as I broke the kiss, my voice breathless and needy.

“I will.” He teased his tongue over my neck before sucking hard on the skin. Every mark was a tease of what was to come. His hips rocked up to meet mine, his kisses turning savage. My delta was in a rut now, just as desperate as I was.

We were clawing at each other’s clothes until we were naked right there on the living room couch. There was no time to run to our nest or care if the others joined. In fact, I hoped they would.

My brain was blissfully silent while every sense was drowning in my delta.

Kota took a deep, shaky breath to calm himself. He had one hand on my hip, the other trailing toward my dripping pussy. I loved that he was a gentleman but I couldn’t handle a drawn out moment now.

I needed a knot. My core was empty and achy, my stomach cramping lightly in a sure sign that this heat was beginning.

“No, fuck me now. I need a knot. Please,” I begged, voice holding a rasp that gave away how much I needed this. I was seconds from falling apart if he didn’t give me what I needed, and now.

Thankfully, Kota was just as eager as I was.

The moment I wrapped my legs around him. He was lining himself up and sliding into my greedy pussy. There was nothing soft or sweet about this encounter.

He flipped us around so I was below him, fucking me into the couch. The legs of the couch squeaked with every bruising thrust, letting the whole house know what we were up to.

If they couldn’t smell it already. Our pheromones were bursting out of us. The air was thick with them, which only added to the feral haze lingering around us.

Kota’s knot swelled, pushing against my sensitive walls as it pulsed violently. There was no holding back. The constant stimulation threw me into an orgasm before I could even process it. My body quaked as I screamed his name, fingers digging into his flesh as I tried to hold onto something.

The second was on the cusp of the first and almost painful in its intensity.

He never faltered, his thrusts just as punishing as he fucked me, his knot amping up as his knot swelled further, locking into place.

Right as my next orgasm slammed into me, I struck. My teeth sank into his neck. The bond snapped into place in an intense burst, his unhinged emotions twisting with mine as we both drowned in each other.

He wanted me as much as I wanted him. Every feeling I couldn’t put into words was sent right back with the same level of depth.

As I pulled my teeth out and flicked my tongue over the ridged marks, he returned the favor.

It wasn’t my inner thigh where he’d once promised, but he picked up my hand, biting my wrist in a place I could always feel it and see it.

His knot didn’t hold me for long and my body protested with another cramp. They were getting worse now and I needed far more than a single knot.

“Come on. They’re probably waiting in the nest. We set it up this morning while you were busy,” he urged. His voice was still deeper but his rut seemed to have been satisfied for now.

Kota scooped me up and stood, carrying me through the house.

The other three were waiting in the nest they’d created. It had everything we bought and little touches of all of us.

My three mates waiting for me was the best part. Hayes was in his boxers, the other two flanking him, eyes expectant and excited.

“There’s our little bat,” Greer said as he stood, taking me from Kota and carrying me to the bed. “Your scent has been driving us crazy up here.”

He laid me down but my omega wasn’t about to lay back and let them decide. She pulled Greer down in a deep kiss before throwing herself at Hayes. My hands ripped his boxers away, tearing the fabric. He didn’t even get to say a word before I was sinking down on his thick cock.

“Fuck,” I groaned in a broken whisper. My alpha felt incredible, his knot already starting to push against me and it was just the beginning.

Greer and Rylan each claimed a peaked nipple, sucking hard and teasing my sensitive body. Even after coming several times for Kota, another orgasm was already building as I bounced on my alpha’s cock.

“That’s right, little bat. Take what you need from your alpha,” he praised as his hands tightened on my hips, letting me take what I needed while holding me steady.

It wasn’t long before he couldn’t take it and picked up the pace, slamming me down each time, forcing his knot deeper and teasing my clit against his muscled body.

“I’m so close,” I whimpered. Rylan and Greer both bit down on my nipples. The sharp sting was soothed away but I was already freefalling, pleasure rocking through me.

My alpha groaned my name as my pussy clenched around him, milking his knot. He couldn’t resist, his growl low and deep as he came hard. His cum filled me, sending a primal wave of satisfaction through me.

Kota joined now, his fingers sliding between us to tease my clit, the other two devouring every inch of me they could reach, kisses and bites that amplified everything.

My eyes were closed, my head thrown back, as I sank deeper into the heat fog. I thought every experience with my pack was incredible, but having them all at once was life-changing. All of their scents wrapped around mine in the air, swirling together into a mix I wished I could savor.

Everything about this moment was perfect.

Kota’s fingers guided me into another orgasm. My alpha chose that moment to bite. His teeth sank into my collarbone, the sting sharp but carried away on the waves of euphoria the others had given me.

I didn’t bother to catch my breath before I claimed him in the exact same spot. A mirrored bonding mark.

Our pack was officially complete. I could feel every one of them inside my chest. Small tethers now tied me to each one of my mates and right now the bond was lit up with excitement, lust, and a sense of belonging I never knew was possible.

As the heat pulled me under, I had no fears. This pack would burn the world down for me, and I didn’t hesitate to throw myself headfirst into loving them.
