Kupid Love

kupid love

. . .

Crown really flew out a private jet to pick up my bestie. I thought he was talking until Nisha asked for the address. They sent a car service to pick Asia up to bring her to the jet, and once she landed, Lee drove her to my house. Having my friend here with me was good as I made this fresh new start. Asia told me that Shamar almost didn’t let her come because they weren’t both coming. I still felt like Crown could have let him on the private jet, too, since Shamar was a fan.

Asia talked me into wearing this jumpsuit that didn’t leave much to the imagination. I would have never worn nipple pasties if it weren’t for Asia, but I couldn’t even lie to myself when I said I looked too damn good. My hair was freshly done with bundles and flowing down my back. Asia had put two ponytails in my head and left hair down in the back. She did me a light face beat, and I couldn’t stop looking at myself every time I passed a mirror.

“We need this night out, friend!” Asia squealed, clapping her hands. “I needed this time away from the hubby and kids, and you just need a night out. I can’t believe you haven’t been out yet. Heartville is life! I might talk to Shamar about moving here, but then again, it is expensive as fuck. I’m so proud of you, though.”

“Awww, Asia,” I cooed. “Thank you, girl, but don’t start that crying.” We laughed in unison.

She patted her eyes. “I’ll try not to. We’ll talk about it tomorrow morning then. Tonight, we are going to party with the hottest rapper out!” Asia squinted, throwing me off.

“What?” I queried.

“He flew me on a PJ for you. Why did he do that? Has he been flirting with you?”

I snickered. “No, Crown has been a gentleman.” That’s what I told her, but I think Crown has been flirting with me, but it was light. “He’s called me pretty or whatever, but I’m his employee. Crown could have any woman he wants. Anyone that’s in the industry. I read that he and a famous singer, Jania, had a thing. They would make a cute couple, in my opinion.”

Asia waved me away dismissively. “Girl, please. Do you think that nigga cares if you’re his employee? He’d still hit.” She rolled her eyes.

“Asia! I am not letting Crown fuck. He is fine, but I would love to keep this a business relationship and nothing else. I could not handle being in the blogs every day anyway. They would find anything for a story,” I told her with a shake of my head.

“Fuck them! I’m just saying first the basketball game, and now y’all outside partying… What celebrity brings their social media manager to games and invites them to a hosting? Wake up, Kupid!”

Alec texted me, alerting me that he had arrived. Asia and I gathered our things and left the house. My friend was cute in a black and white plaited skirt, black body suit, and black thigh-high boots. The skirt lifted when she walked. Shamar would have a fit.

“How did the outfit get past my brother?” I giggled as we scurried to the Hummer.

“Giiirl, I had to hide it. He was already mad because he wasn’t invited.” Asia sniggered and said, “Hey,” to Alec before jumping into the Hummer. He spoke back before turning to me.

“Good evening, Alec.”

He nodded his head. “Good evening, Miss Love. Any stops?”

I shook my head. “No stops.”

I slid in, and Asia was already pouring pregame shots. Alec shut the door. The light wind had my nipples hardening against the pasties. I hoped Alec didn’t think of me in any way being dressed like this, but then again, I was headed to a nightclub. How else did he think I was supposed to dress?

It took Alec no time to pull up to Houston, a popular nightclub in Heartville named after the club owner, Houston Reid. As soon as I made it home from Crown’s place, I did my research on it. I read that it was the most popular club and was packed every weekend. It was also said that they had the best hot wings, too. Asia and I used to bust down a plate of chicken wings every time we’d go out in Crestview.

Alec opened the door to the Hummer and helped both Asia and me out. A big, burly Black guy dressed down in Burberry was approaching, and I started to reach in my purse for my pepper spray.

“How are you security dressed in Burberry from head to toe?” Asia snorted through a laugh when the guy was in front of us. She pointed a thumb at him. “This is Crown’s security guard, AD.”

I would ask how Asia knew, but then again, Crown was her favorite rapper. I wouldn’t be surprised if she knew his social security number. The man’s expression was stoic. It was as if he was ready to go back inside and turn up rather than retrieve two females who could clearly walk inside themselves. Crown must have sent him.

“?” he asked, looking from me to Asia.

“I’m she,” I said, picking up a hand.

He nodded and licked his lips. “Crown sent me to make sho’ you and your friend get inside safely.” His eyes roamed over me and covered my chest with my arms. They then landed on Asia. “I see why.” He tried to mumble that last part, but I caught it. He chuckled. “Follow me.”

Asia nudged me and rolled her eyes behind AD’s back. I stifled a giggle with my hand. Once we made it past the bouncers, Asia began to clap her hands and twerk her ass.

“We ‘bout to act bad, friend!” she yelled.

That’s one thing I loved about Asia; the girl was outgoing and didn’t give a damn who was watching her. She was unapologetically her.

She reached a hand back, and I grabbed onto it as we walked through the throng of people dancing or just standing around. The club was dark, with colorful strobe lights dancing along the walls. The walls were matte black glass, which I found crazy because having faith in all these people not to break them was… a lot of faith. They made the club appear sexy, though.

AD led us up several stairs and into a section that appeared to be over capacity already.

“Shout out to all my people wit’ me tonight. This family!” Crown’s raspy voice boomed into the microphone, causing chills down my spine.

Asia entered the section first. She was so confident wherever she went, and I already wanted to go home because there were too many people. Maybe I just needed a few more shots, and then I’ll loosen up. Trae nodded at me, and I offered a little wave. Two women dressed in shit that looked like bikinis were on either side of him on the plush red chaise. Titties were spilling out of their tops.

“Glad you were able to make it, Miss…Love”

Turning to my left, I was face to chest with Crown. Lifting my head, his eyes were covered with dark shades, and a smirk was on his lips. His cologne tickled my nose. He smelled so good.

“Thanks for inviting me out.” I tried to sound as professional as possible, but it came out in a squeaky voice. Asia patted my back, bringing me to glare at her ass. She wore a goofy smile. “Asia, this is your favorite rapper ever, Crown. Crown, this is your biggest fan ever, Asia.”

“Nice to meet you,” Crown drawled, and Asia began fanning herself.

“I would ask for you to sign a titty, but I’m married, and my husband is already jealous that I’m here without him. Can you sign something for me?” Asia rushed out in what seemed to be one breath. I cackled.

“I gotcha before the night ova wit’,” Crown told her with his eyes on me. “What y’all drinking? We have plenty of options.” He motioned toward the liquor and alcohol in a large tub filled with ice. There were shot cups and glasses on a table.

“Whatever hasn’t been opened yet,” I replied. “I know how niggas like to drink out of bottles.”

“Mouth full of herpes,” Asia added. She shivered, and I turned my nose up at her because what was that to say? “What? I’m speaking facts, friend. Wake up, mouth be sore and full of bumps.” I nudged her while Crown guffawed.

“Y’all smoke?” he asked. Me and Asia both shook our heads. She waved her hand under her chin.

I snickered. The first time Asia attempted to smoke weed, the girl thought she was floating. She was flapping her arms and all. Shamar still has the video on his phone. When they argued, he always brought it up and said he was going to post it on social media. That shuts Asia right on up. I don’t know what kind of weed she had, but I didn’t want it.

“Aight,” he chuckled, scratching the side of his face. He pulled on the blunt he had, and I watched the smoke leave his mouth.

“Damn, you make that shit look sexy.”

I mushed Asia’s head lightly. “Girl, you are married.”

“Yeah, you’re right. You’re right, friend.” We giggled.

I pointed toward the alcohol while smiling. “We’re about to head over there.”

Crown nodded and licked his lips. I couldn’t see his eyes, but I could feel them burning a hole in me. My face heated. Turning, I pulled Asia with me.

“That man is so fine,” Asia squealed. “I still cannot believe…hold up.” Asia pulled out her phone. “Y’all won’t believe this shit,” she started, moving the phone around, “I am out here partying with Crown Heart. He flew me out here on a private jet thanks to my bestie, Kupid, who now works for him!” She put the phone on me, and I awkwardly held up the peace sign.

“Hey!”

I picked my head up from pouring pineapple juice into a cup to see Nisha.

“Hey, Nisha. This is my friend, Asia. Asia, this is Crown’s assistant, Nisha.” I introduced the two.

Nisha was dressed in black leather shorts, a black lace top, and a black bra underneath. Her hair was in a high ponytail, and she had her face beat real pretty. Nisha had a red lip outlined with a brown pencil, and her natural lashes were coated with mascara.

“You look so pretty,” Asia told her. “But you always look pretty when I see you in pictures with Crown. Y’all grew up real tight, right?”

Nisha nodded. “That’s the bro.”

“I love that for you. He put his people on,” Asia continued.

We drank and continued to converse. After a few drinks, I was on the dance floor with the ladies, shaking my ass. I really needed this night out. In two days, it was Valentine’s Day. That used to be my favorite day. Instead of celebrating it, I’d be at Crown’s, working for him. There wouldn’t be a dinner for two or chilling on the sofa watching movies with my favorite person. I was trying to be okay with it, but I wasn’t. I love…love. I love being in love.

“You okay?” Asia asked me.

“Looks like you zoned out for a bit,” Nisha added.

“Yeah, I’m okay. I need to use the bathroom,” I told them.

“We’ll go together,” Nisha said, leading the way.

Nisha was really cool. She seemed like a girl’s girl, and I liked her.

The club’s women’s bathroom was pretty. It had black marble tiles with black walls. Pink décor was on the walls and the counter. The plus was that the bathroom was clean. I was still squatting.

While I was washing my hands, Nisha was beside me, washing hers. When I peered in the mirror, she was gawking at me with a smile.

“What?” I asked with a chuckle.

“Nothiiing,” she stressed.

Asia exited a stall, and I gave her my sink and went to dry my hands.

“It’s something,” I replied.

“You’re really pretty, and it’s just weird seeing Crown do shit he ain’t never did.”

I cocked my head to the side. “Like what?”

She came over to dry her hands. “Liiike have you work from his home… let you come in his studio…” Nisha held both hands up. “Flying your homegirl out and letting you party with him. Crown has never done that.”

“He likes my girl. Is that what you’re saying?” Asia chimed in.

I rolled my eyes to the ceiling and groaned, “Asiiiia.”

“What, girl?” She laughed. “I think that’s what Nisha is saying.”

We both turned to Nisha.

Nisha lifted her shoulders. “I’m just saying I’ve never seen my boy do any of this before, and I’ve been with Crown since the beginning.”

“Oh wow, my friend is about to date a superstar,” Asia gushed, looking at the ceiling.

“Girl, what?” I shrieked. “No, I’m not. I think Crown is nice to me because I joined his team. Everyone knows not to mix business with pleasure.”

“Whatever,” Asia mumbled. “I still think it’s more, but whatever you say. And… and if it is more, you better not let that pass you by.”

“I just got out of a relationship, Asia. A five-year relationship.” I reminded my friend. “If a truck driver can cheat, you know damn well a rapper will.”

“Crown isn’t like that, though. When he’s single, he’s single, so yeah, he does single things, but when he’s in a relationship, he's in there,” Nisha stated, coming to Crown’s defense.

“Then why is he single now?” Asia questioned, folding her arms over her chest. “Or is he single because, you know, there are rumors about him and Jania?”

Nisha rolled her eyes this time. “I’m not about to talk Crown’s business, but I will clear those rumors. Not true.”

“They would make a cute couple, though,” I said, adding my two cents.

Asia swung her hair back off her shoulder. “Yeaaaah, but that’s yo’ man.”

I laughed. “Girl, that is not my man. Don’t say that again. Anyone can be in this damn bathroom and run to the blogs. I’m trying to stay off that shit, remember?”

Nisha cackled. “Good luck. When Crown first came out, they thought I was his woman. They tend to make up their own shit.”

We left the bathroom after ensuring we looked straight and back to the section. My feet were killing me, and I wanted to sit down for a minute. We lucked up when most of the females in the section were either on the dance floor or standing up.

“I just need a second because my feet are starting to bark,” I told Asia. Nisha had walked over to Crown.

“Mine too, friend.”

You think she over there telling him what we were talking about?”

I shook my head. “Nah, we weren’t talking about shit,” I replied.

“Oh shit, Crown is coming over here.”

I didn’t even look in his direction. Asia was being so extra, but I knew she was overly excited about being close to her favorite rapper.

“Y’all straight?” His raspy voice cut into my thoughts.

“We’re good,” Asia replied.

“Yeah, we’re good,” I agreed.

Crown eased down next to me, and Nisha on his other side. She was on her phone, texting. I could hear Asia squealing through clenched teeth. She pinched me, and I fought not to pinch her giddy ass back.

“What do you like to do for fun?”

I turned to Crown, leaning forward, elbows on his knees, and holding a red cup in one hand.

“In my free time, I binge-watch TV. I’m boring,” I snickered. “What do you do in your free time?” Since he asked me, I thought I would shoot the question back.

He shrugged. “Shit, sleep. I’m boring, too.” Asia was now on her phone, but I knew my girl. She was ear-hustling like a mothafucka.“I’ma have to show you ‘round this big city.”

“So, you want to be my tour guide?” I asked, cocking my head.

Crown grinned, exposing the diamonds in his grill. He took a sip of whatever was in his cup. He leaned over, and I could smell the Hennessey on his breath.

“I could be.”

His lips damn near touched my ear, causing shivers up my spine and butterflies in my stomach.
