Chapter 53
REUNITED AT LAST
Rebel Pierce
Depression.
I think that was what I was experiencing. Never in my life have I felt this down before. I couldn’t eat or sleep. The only phone calls I’d been answering have been from Caesar. The only person I’d let come inside my apartment had been Caesar. Everyone else I’d been turning away including my parents. And of course, my sister because I was still pissed at her for sending the cops in J.D.’s direction. She won’t get a pass from me for doing that shit although every time I talked to Caesar he tried to apologize on her behalf. I didn’t want to hear it. When she worked through her shit, then maybe I’d let her back into my life. Until then I can’t deal with her.
Normally, I was the optimistic person, letting nothing get me down. However, it had been weeks since I last heard anything from J.D., and Caesar’s silence only heightened my anxiety. He wouldn’t tell me whether he was alive or dead. All he would say was it was club business. If I hear that fucking word one more time, I was going to explode. Fuck club business, I want to know what the hell was going on.
“Ugh!” I shouted at the sound of the doorbell. “Why the hell can’t y’all just leave me alone!” I stormed to the front door of my apartment, then yanking it open. “Leave me alone!”
“But I came all this way to see you, sweetheart,” he said with his hands shoved deep in the pockets of his blue jeans and a smirk on his face that made my heart melt.
“J.D.,” I whispered with my eyes wide.
“Well, are you going to let me in?”
The emotions overwhelmed me, and tears streamed down my face. He pulled me into his arms, and I could feel the strength of his embrace. “I’m alright, Rebel. I’m here.”
I pushed myself away from him, then punched him in his chest. “You could have called me.” I pulled him inside my apartment, then locked the door. “I was so fucking worried.”
He pulled me back into his arms as we walked to the living room and sat on the couch.
“It’s going to be like that sometimes, sweetheart. I know you were worried about me, and I was worried about you too. It was killing me not being able to come and sit by your bedside.”
“I know.”
“But this is a conversation we need to have right now. And I should have had it before we got in deep. I love you, Rebel.”
“Say it again,” I said, causing him to smile. “I didn’t know if I was ever going to hear you say that again.”
“I love you, Rebel Pierce.” He grabs my hand. “And I want everything with you, but we need to talk about what being in my life means for you.”
“I don’t like the sound of this.”
“You probably don’t because you’re a control freak.”
He chuckled, and I nudged him in the side.
“You are. But seriously, my life in the club is something you’ll never have control over, Rebel. You need to understand that now and it was my fault that I didn’t tell you that sooner. Because I came to you for help, there was certain stuff you could hear and be involved in. It’s not going to be like that Rebel. Ever.”
“I know. That’s the same thing Caesar said, but I just had all these thoughts in my head about you being hurt or dead.”
“I know sweetheart, but you have to understand sometimes I can’t just call you when I’m in the middle of shit. Caesar can’t tell you what’s going on with me whenever you want to know something. That’s just not how shit works in this world. The question is are you going to be able to handle that because if you can’t you need to tell me now.”
“And if I can’t handle it?” I asked interested to hear what he had to say.
I was determined to hold on to him, no matter what. There was shit I had to get used to because he would never be able to tell me everything. I had to extend him my trust even when I didn’t want too. I was nosey as hell, but I would try to keep that under control if it meant keeping him in my life. There were certain aspects of my life I couldn’t share with him either.
“Then this ends today,” he said. “I don’t want it to, but it would have to.”
“I figured that’s what you would say.”
“I love you with all my heart, but I can’t be with you if you can’t accept all of me, Rebel. This is who I am. The club is my family. It’s my life and there are things you’ll never know about.”
“I’ve already accepted that part of your life. I know who you are and what you’re involved in. It’s hard knowing shit is going down and I can’t do anything to protect you.”
“But can you handle that?” he asked. “You need to be honest with yourself because it won’t change. I won’t lie to you, Rebel just so you don’t worry about me. It’s a dangerous life and I do all I can to keep it separate from you, but you know firsthand that’s not always possible. And I do all I can not to die because of it.”
“Can you handle not being able to know everything about my life?” I asked. “I work a lot of cases, some dangerous. Legally, I can’t share things either.”
His brows furrowed, creating a deep crease on his forehead. “It’s not going to be easy not to question you, but I can’t ask that of you, if I can’t do the same.”
“I want you.” I straddled his hips and ran my hands through his hair. It was time to stop talking. “I can handle it.”
“I can handle it too.”
I pressed my body against his arousal, feeling the friction intensify as he tightly gripped my hips. With a teasing touch, I traced the outline of his bottom lip with my tongue before diving into his mouth. As we devoured each other, a contented sigh escaped from my lips. It had been so long since we’d be able to just be together. When our lips met, a whirlwind of emotions stirred in the pit of my stomach. I’d never wanted someone as much as I wanted him.
When he pulled away, a pout formed on my lips. “Are you medically cleared?” he asked, his voice tinged with concern, his brow arched.
“Define medically cleared?” I said, chuckling.
He nipped my bottom lip before licking the sting away, causing me to moan.
“I want you to fuck me, J.D.,” I said, then crashed my mouth into his.
As his lips brushed against my neck, a pleasurable shiver ran down my spine, causing me to let out a whimper. “I’m not fucking you, Rebel.” The heat from his breath brushed against my skin. “Not until the doctor clears you.”
“But I’m fine.”
He chuckled then pecked me on the lips. “I’m not willing to take that chance.”
“J.D. come on!”
I didn’t care if it wasn’t lady like. I wanted him and by the fire in his eyes he wanted me to.
“We can play but tell me if you’re hurting.”
I nodded vigorously, my head bobbing up and down like a loon.
“I’m fucking serious, Rebel.”
“I will. I promise.”
“Take your leggings off and lay back.”
Rising from his lap, I positioned myself directly in front of him. Before I did as he asked, he lifted my shirt, and sharply inhaled. His eyes held a mixture of anger and heartbreak, as he hesitated to touch my wound, his hand hovering in the air.
“I’m so sorry, babe. I should have protected you.”
“It wasn’t your fault, baby.”
I knew my words weren’t having any effect on him. He’d blame himself no matter what. To divert his attention, I quickly slid out of my leggings, taking care to conceal my wound as well. With my pain being minor these days, I was relieved I no longer had to worry about aggravating my injury. I was almost back to a hundred percent, and I just wanted to be with him.
His eyes, once filled with anger and heartbreak, transformed into a lustful gaze that ignited a deep desire within me. I laid down on the couch and opened my legs so he could see how much I needed him.
He got on the floor in front of me, then gently pulled me to the edge of the couch, placing my legs over his shoulders.
He nuzzled his nose against my damp folds. “You smell so fucking good.”
“J.D... please?”
“What do you want, baby?” he asked, kissing the inside of my right thigh, then the inside of the left.
“I want you to eat my pussy,” I said with no shame.
Without hesitation, he got to work. His tongue traced the entirety of my wetness, before teasing my sensitive clit. My hands tangled in his hair, and a surge of desire made my hips lift from the chair.
“Oh my... fuck.”
His mouth tightened its grip on my clit, intensifying the pleasure as he pulled me in closer. “I could eat your pussy until the day I died.”
I moaned, closing my eyes, as the intense sensations overwhelmed my senses. Alternating between gentle and intense stimulation, he tasted the sweet essence that flowed from me, eliciting a deep, primal moan.
“That feels so good.”
He skillfully explored my core with two fingers, simultaneously caressing my most sensitive spot. My hips rocked against his tongue, and I was in fucking heaven.
“You taste so fucking good, Rebel,” he said as he continued fucking me with his fingers.
The only thing more glorious than J.D.’s tongue was his dick. If I couldn’t have it, I would gladly take this tongue fucking he was giving me right now. He slammed another finger inside me, and I exploded. White spots dotted my vision.
“J.D.!” I shouted, finally falling over the edge.
“That’s right baby. Give it to me.”
With my eyes closed, I reveled in the comforting feeling of being with him, cherishing every second. With care, he lowered my legs from over his shoulders and gently set them down on the floor. Then he helped me sit up, causing me to grunt.
“Are you good?” he asked.
As I opened my eyes, I noticed the worry etched on his face. “I’m better than good,” I said, smiling.
My eyes shifted to his hard cock pressed against the fabric of his jeans. I licked my lips. I couldn’t wait to return the favor. He rubbed his dick through his jeans, groaning.
“Another time,” he said, and my eyes jumped to his, but before I could protest, there was banging on the door.
As he handed me my leggings, I stood and slid them on while he went to answer the door. I felt a sudden twinge of pain, but I kept it to myself. I knew he wouldn’t have sex with me until he was certain I had fully recovered.
I walked to the door when I heard voices I didn’t recognize. “What’s going on?” I asked when I saw the two men in black suits, standing at my door. “Who are you?”
“They’re looking for me.” J.D. said. “I’m not under arrest. They just want to ask me some questions.”
“About what?” I asked, with my hands on my hips.
“Call Caesar, so he can get in touch with Della,” J. D. said. “I’m going to the FBI Field Office.”
“J.D...”
“I’ll be fine, Rebel. Just do as I ask.”
He pecked me on the lips and walked out the door with the agents. Closing the door behind them, I made my way to the living room where my cellphone sat on the table. I grabbed it and dialed Caesar’s number.
“What’s wrong?” he asked as soon as he answered.
“The FBI just picked up J.D.”
“I’ll call Della.”
“Come pick me up. I want to be there.”
“See you in twenty,” he said, ending he call.
I let out a sigh of frustration and placed my phone back on the table. I was so tired of all this. I just wanted to move on and start our life together. The charges had been dropped in my case, so this had to do with Agent Revels. I hoped wherever Agent Revels was he’d never be found.
