Dear Brooke,

I know I do things backward sometimes, but when you’ve lived as long as I have, you’ll find backward, forward, sideways—it doesn’t matter as long as you’re doing what you should.

I’ve had this ring since my own mother passed.

I saw her wear it every day, and even though things were not easy, this ring was a constant in our lives.

The story of how it came to her is a long one, but you need to know that it’s been passed down from generations.

Still, when Mom passed and the ring was my own, it never felt like mine.

So I prayed about it. And even though you were a little girl, I found that this was your ring, and I got to keep it safe for you.

Brooke, if God can make even the rocks this beautiful, then why are you worried? He’ll make your life far more beautiful than you can imagine.

Hard times, pain, and suffering are all true. But so is beauty, truth, and goodness. You’ll find that in your marriage.

I am so proud of you.

Love,

Meemaw
