Chapter 30 Ivy #2

“Thank you.” Ivy’s voice wavered. She was riding a wave of joy, but it was tinged with guilt. Acanthus merely nodded in response before disappearing through the curtain.

Leseldh returned to the front row and lowered himself into the seat beside Ivy. He cupped her jaw, forcing her gaze to his.

“Did you enjoy that, my love?” Leseldh’s voice was low and sensual, and it filled Ivy with an unexpected wave of arousal. A tremor racked her body.

Leseldh leaned in closer, his lips brushing hers as he rasped, “Fae blood is a rare treat in Noctis these nights.”

Leseldh’s tongue darted out and licked a trace of blood from her lips. The contact pushed Ivy over the edge, and she pressed her mouth to Leseldh’s forcefully.

They kissed passionately, and Ivy rapidly found herself needing more. She launched herself into Leseldh’s lap, straddling him and kissing him deeply. Leseldh’s tongue entered her mouth, and she felt him moan against her as he tasted the remnants of Acanthus’s blood on her tongue.

The lights lowered to signify the end of the intermission, but Ivy’s desire now outweighed her interest in the performance. Their lips parted for Leseldh to suggest they take their leave, and Ivy was quick to agree.

The drive to Veldmoor was excruciating for Ivy—her desire was roiling within her and Leseldh wasn’t driving fast enough. She felt like she would burst out of her skin by the time they pulled up Veldmoor’s private drive.

Ivy opened the door to the car before it’d even stopped rolling, and Leseldh was quickly on her tail as she dashed towards the house, lifting the skirt of her dress as she ran. They quickly found themselves in Leseldh’s bedroom, and Ivy’s mouth found Leseldh’s in the darkness.

Their arms encircled one another, and they staggered towards the bed, Leseldh pulling Ivy down on top of him. She broke the kiss to straddle him. She moved to unzip her dress, but Leseldh reached up, his hands grasping hers to still them.

“Leave it on.” His eyes were a golden glow in the low light, and his suggestion made Ivy realise that peeling away their clothing was only delaying the pleasure she sought.

She fumbled with the fastening of Leseldh’s pants, her impatience getting the better of her, before Leseldh’s hands swept in to take over.

She dragged his slacks and underwear down just enough and pulled her underwear to the side.

She pressed her hands to Leseldh’s chest for leverage as she lowered herself onto him, with her dress bunched up around her.

Leseldh’s hands rested on her hips to guide her movement.

Ivy closed her eyes and focused on the waves of pleasure that swept through her body.

“Yes, Malia,” Leseldh breathed, and Ivy’s eyes snapped open. Leseldh’s eyes were two shimmering pools of molten gold, his gaze distant. He turned his head to the side, baring his neck to her.

“Bite me, Malia. Seal our Resonance.” Leseldh’s words sent a wave of revulsion throughout her, and she slowed her movements.

The ecstasy that overcame her was swiftly abolished by his command.

Leseldh grasped Ivy’s hips harder and continued to thrust from beneath her.

He increased his pace until he found his release with a groan.

Racked by pleasure, Leseldh opened his eyes. He stared up at her, waves of gold rippling within his irises. He still had that faraway look in his eyes, but he seemed to sense something was wrong, probably because Ivy remained stock-still atop him.

“Are you okay, my love?” Leseldh’s voice was distant, and she wondered who it was he thought he was talking to.

“I’m fine, I’m just… spent.” She rolled off Leseldh and made to leave the bed, but his arm snaked around her waist, pulling her against him.

“Let’s rest, then.”

Ivy wanted to resist him, but feigning sleep seemed easier. She knew Leseldh wouldn’t linger. She laid with her back to his chest, squeezing her eyes shut to wait. Her thoughts clattered around in her head.

Acanthus’s blood affected her differently to any of the Humans she’d fed from. It made her feel the uncontrollable urge to touch and be touched, and Leseldh was more than happy to oblige. But in the wake of that emotional override, she felt violated and wrong.

She felt sick to the stomach from the moment she heard Malia’s name spill from Leseldh’s lips.

Equally, she was thankful that it pulled her from the throes of passion.

She could have commenced the blood exchange with Leseldh tonight, and she still wasn’t certain of what would happen once his blood touched her tongue.

The wrongness of the whole scenario made her think of Killian. She was caught off guard by the wave of guilt and shame she felt over what she’d just done. She needed to see him. But first, she needed to find him.

Ivy forced her breathing to slow down, imitating the cadence of sleep. He eventually slid out from beside her, and Ivy listened with closed eyes as Leseldh retreated from the bedroom.

Once back in her room, Ivy wriggled out of the pink dress and hastily tossed it across the room. She scanned her bedroom and saw no sign of Ozias. Typical. You’re nowhere to be found when I actually need you.

She removed her underwear and ran herself a bath to cleanse not only her body, but her mind. As she steeped in the warm water, she summoned her Erath, unsure if he’d hear her demand. Ozias, she called out in her mind. Ozias!

A few moments later, she heard the flapping of wings and Ozias flew into the bathroom through the open doorway. He landed on the edge of the bathtub and fixed his golden eyes upon her.

I need you to find Killian.

Who is Killian? Ozias tilted his head at Ivy. Her lips kicked up in a small smile at the Humanness of the movement.

He’s a Vampire. He’s important.

You will need to show me.

Show you what?

How he appears.

How?

Picture Killian in your mind and send that image to me.

Ivy blushed and looked away. Images that she didn’t think were appropriate to share with her Erath forced their way into her mind. She pushed them aside and conjured an image of Killian at Lunarian, and looked over at Ozias, hoping he would see it.

I will search for him, Ozias confirmed, before taking flight and leaving the room.

Thank you. Ivy didn’t know if the Erath had heard her.
