Chapter 5

brAX

Iwas so fucking turned on thinking about what she'd done that I could barely wait for Leo to fall asleep.

At the same time, I was furious.

Not at her.

At the years she'd lost because of Carlo.

The years she'd spent running.

The years she'd spent wondering where she'd sleep, how she'd feed her boy and whether the past was about to catch up with her again.

Most people would've folded.

Lexi hadn't.

She'd taken a pile of stolen money, a baby and a prayer and somehow crossed the country to build a life.

That took guts.

Carlo really wasn't going to be a problem for much longer.

I'd gather a few of my brothers and we'd have a conversation with him.

One way or another, he'd get the message.

He wouldn't be back.

That was as certain as my first coffee of the day.

I ordered pizza and spent the evening listening to Leo tell us about everything he'd done today.

By the time the movie ended, his eyes were barely open.

Lexi took him to bed and tucked him in.

When she came back into the living room, I stood and held out my hand.

She smiled.

"Are you going to lead me astray?"

"In every possible way."

There was no fucking way I was sleeping on the couch tonight, even if I had to climb out the bedroom window before daybreak.

Lexi

We had a shower first and could hardly keep our hands off one another. The little bathroom was attached to the bedroom and we'd locked the bedroom door so Leo wouldn't wander in. It was unlikely though. He’d always been a good sleeper no matter where our heads landed in our travels.

By the time we got to the bed, dried and naked, Brax had a raging hard-on that looked every bit as dangerous as the man himself.

If I hadn't been soaking wet in anticipation I'd have been wondering how I was going to fit it all into my low-mileage pussy.

He picked me up off my feet and as I wrapped my legs around his waist he lowered me onto his cock. I took him whole in one long slow movement that felt like a fist.

He was fucking huge and it hurt a little when he hit bottom. I let out a whimper and he stopped.

"You ok?"

"Yeah. Just not used to it."

"I'll take it easy."

"No. Don't. Please. I want you to fuck the life out of me."

He started rolling his hips and I bit my lip as my eyes rolled back. His grip on my ass tightened, pulling me onto him with every thrust, and the sound of our skin meeting filled the little room. I dug my nails into his shoulders and held on for dear life.

He fucked me hard and deep. Each stroke bottoming out with a jolt that made me gasp.

I could feel every inch of him stretching me, filling me, and when he buried his face in my neck and groaned against my skin I knew he was close.

His hips stuttered, his fingers dug into my thighs, and he came with a low growl that vibrated through my chest.

He didn't stop at the standing fuck.

He lowered me onto the bed and buried his face in my forest and proceeded to lick me clean.

If that wasn't the hottest thing a man could do…

I fully intended to return the favor. Once he was done I told him it was his turn. He lay back on the bed and I knelt between his massive thighs and brought his cock back to hard. I used my hands, mouth and tongue, until his second orgasm pulsed into my mouth in a hot, thick flood.

I swallowed it all and licked my lips when I surfaced. The look of satisfaction on his face was everything.

I was in love. I knew that. I just hoped he did too.

Brax

Carlo was tied to a chair in an old storage shed on the edge of club property.

He'd spent the first ten minutes threatening me.

The second ten begging.

Now he just sat there sweating.

Dax wandered in carrying a chainsaw.

Carlo's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

"You can't do this," he shouted through the gag.

“Which leg’s coming off?” Dax said. Then he pulled the starter cord and the engine roared to life.

Carlo started screaming. The sort of panic that comes when a man realizes he's no longer in control.

Dax walked around behind him and gave the saw a rev.

Carlo thrashed so hard the chair rattled across the concrete floor.

Then Dax lowered the blade.

BZZZZZZZZ.

Wood chips flew and one of the rear chair legs dropped away.

The chair tipped backwards and Carlo hit the floor with a crash.

Dax killed the engine and my bros started laughing.

Even I couldn't help myself.

Carlo looked like he'd seen the devil.

I crouched beside him.

“Next time it will be bone not wood.”

His eyes were bulging.

“You will NEVER go near Lexi or Leo again. Got it?”

Carlo nodded frantically.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

"Untie him,” I said.

Carlo looked confused.

"You get one chance."

I pointed toward the door.

"Take it."

A minute later he was halfway across the yard running for his bike.

"What did you tell him?" Lexi asked.

"Nothing much."

She snorted.

"Nothing much, yet you think I'll never have to worry about him again. How does that work?"

I shrugged.

"I told him you were my old lady."

She stopped walking.

"Really?"

"Really."

A smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"And am I?"

I looked at her.

The late afternoon sun caught her hair, outlining her in a halo of golden light.

There wasn't a single part of me that wanted to let this woman go.

"Do you want to be?"

She studied me for a second.

Then her eyes drifted toward the cottage.

Toward where Leo was sitting on the porch steps while he raced his remote-controlled monster truck around the yard.

I thought about the life we'd somehow started building together in such a short time.

"I think I already am."

I grinned.

"Good,” I said.

"Good?"

"Yeah."

"That's all I get?" she asked.

I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against me.

"Welcome to the family, Darling."

For a second she looked like she might cry.

Then she laughed instead.

And that was so much better.

We sat Leo down for a talk.

The look on his face told me he thought he was in trouble.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Nothing's wrong," Lexi said quickly.

"Then why are you both looking at me like that?"

I had to bite back a smile.

"We've got some news."

His eyes narrowed.

"Good news?"

"Good news," Lexi said.

He relaxed a little.

"Okay."

"You're staying here," she told him. "Permanently."

His eyes widened.

"Really?"

"Really."

"And..."

Lexi glanced at me.

"I won't be sleeping on the sofa anymore."

Leo looked from her to me.

Then back again.

"So does that mean you won't be climbing out Mom's window anymore?"

"What?" I said.

"What makes you think I was climbing out her window?"

He gave me a look.

"You're about as quiet as an elephant in the morning."

Lexi snorted.

I pointed at him.

"That's slander."

"What's slander?"

"It means you're making stuff up."

"I'm not making stuff up."

"Then how do you know I was there?"

He shrugged.

"I heard you."

I looked at Lexi.

Lexi looked at me.

We both wondered exactly how much he'd heard.

"I was just checking your mom was okay," I said.

Leo rolled his eyes.

"She sounded better than okay. There was a lot of giggling."

I coughed.

Lexi turned bright red.

Time to change the subject.

"Big guys like me don't giggle."

Leo pointed at me immediately.

"You so do."

I burst out laughing.

"See?" he said.

“That’s a laugh, not a giggle.”

“Yeah, you two were doing that too,” he said.

Lexi shook her head.

"So you're happy living here?"

"Oh yeah."

"And what if I told you Brax and I are a couple?"

"You are?"

"Yeah."

"I kinda figured that out already."

That wasn't the reaction either of us had expected.

"You did?" Lexi asked.

He nodded.

"Yep."

"How?"

"You look at each other funny."

Neither of us knew what to say to that.

"We're a family now," Lexi said softly.

Leo looked at me.

"So I'm your son?"

I swallowed.

That was unexpected.

"If your mom wants that and you want that."

He thought about it for all of two seconds.

"I haven't had a dad before."

My chest tightened.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. I'm happy with that."

Then he grinned.

"You're gonna buy me a Harley one day, right?"

I laughed.

"Right after you finish school."

His nose wrinkled immediately.

"Oh man."

"Speaking of school," I said.

"Uh oh."

"Yeah. Uh oh."

He groaned.

"My friend Jenny pulled some strings."

"Oh no."

"Oh yes."

I pointed at him.

"You're enrolled at the same school you've been going to."

His eyes widened.

"For real?"

"For real."

He thought about it.

"I'd rather stay here."

"Would you?"

He paused.

Then shook his head.

"No. I kinda liked that school."

"Good answer."

"And Davey goes there too," I said. "He'll look after you if you need him."

Leo grinned.

"Cool. I like Davey."

I wrapped an arm around Lexi and pulled her against my side.

Leo climbed onto the couch beside us and leaned against my shoulder.

How did I get so lucky?
