Iglare at the newcomer from my bed in the corner.
I’m not sure about this. Not at all.
Things are great here. It’s me and Nate, the old boys’ club. We live together, play together, work together. It’s everything.
He loves me. I love him.
I’m not sure why he thinks we need another human in the house, and damned if I know why he let this dog in here.
The stupid thing doesn’t even know how to sit or stay, and it almost took out the new human on the stairs.
I rest my chin on my paws as I watch Nate and his friend.
Ever since the new human arrived, Nate’s expression has been different somehow.
It’s like he’s seen the biggest bone in the world, covered in peanut butter.
Or whatever treat humans get excited about.
I don’t know. But the point is, he’s happy to see her.
I just hope he doesn’t like her more than he likes me.
