Chapter 27

Chapter Twenty-Seven

S kye

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to nominate my jerkface of a boss, Kingston Chase, for the worst boss of the year award. I don’t know if that’s a category at your esteemed paper as yet, but if not, it should be.

Yours Sincerely,

Skye Redding

Skye,

You do realize you sent this to me, your boss, right?

Not Amused,

Kingston Chase

Kingston,

Maybe if you cracked a smile some days, you wouldn’t be the monster that you are.

Skye

P.S. And of course I realized. I was just giving you a heads up before I actually submit something.

Skye,

Just so you know, you never have to let me know before you want to give me head ...a heads up.

Kingston

Kingston,

You will never get head from me again.

Skye

Skye,

You wanna bet? Also, what newspaper am I to expect my prize from? Wondering if it’s an esteemed paper that I should expect to add to my resume under the accomplishments section.

Kingston

Kingston,

If you want to lose ALL of your money, then sure, let’s make a bet.

Skye

Skye,

You really do seem to have your eyes on my money, don’t you? Is that your way of saying that you will accept a credit card from me?

Kingston

Kingston,

I don’t need or want your credit card.

Skye

Skye,

Only for dates. And sexy outfits. And toys. ??

Kingston

Kingston,

Get a life.

Skye

Skye,

A life or a hardon? Because I have both.

Kingston

Kingston,

I have work to do and my boss sucks, so I have to stop emailing you.

Skye

Skye,

Want to grab dinner tonight?

Kingston

Kingston,

Nope. We only see each other on fun nights. Those are the rules.

Skye

I exit out of my email account and lean back in my chair. Kingston is driving me crazy. I can’t quite figure him out, or exactly what our relationship is, or even what I want or how I feel. When we’re together, it’s fun and exciting and I feel a thrill of happiness that I haven’t felt in years.
