Chapter 33
Gannix
My guys were on it in no time. I got Emerson calmed down and back to the house. She locked herself in the bathroom, and I left her there for now.
Ren had the guy brought back here, and now he’s tied up in the fucking shed, waiting to see what I want to do with him. It wasn’t Gary, but we all know who sent him.
I walk out to the shed after getting one of my other men to watch out for Em. I tug my t-shirt over my head and toss it to the ground as Ren opens the door for me, and I step inside. The man sits in the chair, arms tied behind his back, a gag in his mouth.
I walk over and rip the gag out as he looks at me with fear in his eyes.
“Was it Gary?” I ask him, cutting straight to the point.
“I don’t know.”
“What do you mean you don’t know? Who the fuck sent you?” I roar this time. When he doesn’t answer, I swing. My fist collides with his jaw, snapping his head to the side. Blood trickles down his lip as he looks back at me.
“I want answers, and I’ll keep this up until I get them,” I warn him. He doesn’t say anything, and I swing again with the other hand, snapping his face to the other side. Groans fall from his lips as I keep going until he’s a bloody mess. Then I walk over, grab the sheers off the shelf, and walk back in front of him.
“Where is he hiding? What’s his plan?” I ask the guy, but he refuses to talk. That’s fine with me. I nod toward Nick, one of my men, and he grabs his hand, holding it in place as I bring the sheers to his finger. Just as I’m about to cut one off, he yells.
“He’s hiding! I don’t know where! I got an order to kill the girl, and that’s it,” he screams.
“Where’d the order come from?”
“A friend of a friend. He fucks around on the dark web. We took the offer,” he explains.
“And Gary?”
“I don’t know where he is. I heard he was the one who was hiring but that’s it. They said he’s in hiding,” the asshole tells me. I look at Ren, and he nods his head. If it’s on the dark web, Ren will find it. I bring the sheers back to his hand when he yells once more.
“I told you what I know!”
“You also took a shot at my girl,” I remind him before cutting through his bone. He screams before he finally passes out, and I finish cutting his fingers off. When I’m satisfied, I toss the sheers and tell my guys to dump his ass somewhere and clean up.
I head out of the shed and straight for the house. I storm inside and stomp up the stairs into my room, where I find Emerson sitting in the chair. She looks up when I walk in, her mouth falling open.
She’s on her feet instantly, rushing toward me. When she’s right in front of me, she looks my body over, probably checking for wounds. When she doesn’t see any she looks up at my face.
My chest is heaving as I try to get air into my lungs. We stare at each other for a long second before I lean down and crash my mouth to hers. She doesn’t fight me. She doesn’t pull away, and that’s probably for the best right now.
Our kiss gets heated before I pull back and rip her clothes off, lowering my jeans and kicking them off with my shoes. I lift Em in my arms and thrust my cock into her. With my chest pressed against hers, she slides in the blood that covers me as I fuck her. I walk her toward the bathroom, and once inside, I sit her on the edge of the sink, plunging into her. Emerson calls out my name as I fuck her just like this. I don’t care that I’m covered in the asshole’s blood. I don’t care that she’s now covered in his blood.
I buck my hips, needing to find my release. I need to fucking fill her full of me. I keep going until I can’t stand it anymore and come inside her. My hips jerk as I fill her pussy full of me. She’s panting and out of breath when I pull out of her and stand back.
I reach for the drawer next to her and grab one of my knives out as she watches me, trying to catch her breath.
“Give me your arm,” I tell her.
“What are you doing, Gannix?”
“Give me your fucking arm, Emerson!”
“No. What the fuck are you doing?”
“Do you trust me?” Her eyes meet mine, and I can see the slight hesitation, but I know deep down she does. She doesn’t say a word; she just holds her arm out to me. I shake my head and nod for the other. She’s confused, but she lifts her arm and holds it out to me.
With my free hand, I slowly run my fingers along her arm until I find it. I keep my fingers over it, bringing the knife up.
“Gannix, no. I’m not ready for that.”
“I want it all, Emerson. Do you understand me? Everything! And I want it with you!”
“Do you think you’re ready for that? After what you lived through?” Her voice is shaky, and I understand her concern, but I’m not him. I won’t do that, not to my child.
“You think I’m like my father?” I growl at her. She shakes her head, but I can see the fear in her eyes. “I’ll prove it to you, Emerson. I will fucking prove it to you!”
“You don’t have to prove anything to me, but not now, Gannix. Let’s wait. Let’s just be together,” she begs, but I can’t do that. I need her. I need everything with her and she doesn’t seem to get that.
I press the tip of the knife into her arm and slowly drag it down, cutting through her skin.
“Fuck!” She screams as I cut. Then, with my other hand, I shove the birth control implant out of the incision I made. Blood trickles down her arm as I lift it in my hand and look at it. There’s no going back after this. No turning back. She’s going to be with me forever. She’s going to have my kids, and we’re going to be a normal fucking family!
At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.
I throw the small thing in the trash as fresh tears run down her cheeks. I help her off the counter and lead her to the shower, where I turn it on warm and lead her in.
“You shouldn’t have done that,” she whispers.
“You don’t want my baby inside of you?” I growl.
“You kidnapped me, Gannix!”
“And you’re here now, Emerson. And you’re not going anywhere.”
“That doesn’t mean we need kids. Don’t you see how fucked up the two of us are? What kind of parents do you think we’ll be?” I run my hand through my hair as I listen to her talk.
“We’re so fucked up, Gannix! Can you imagine us bringing a child into this world the way we are?” she cries harder.
“You don’t want kids,” I say softly.
“I’ve never wanted kids. For a man who claims he knows me so well, why didn’t you know that? Huh?”
“It’s because of her?”
“It’s because of me, Gannix! It’s because of you. Look at us. What kind of monsters would we be?”
“We wouldn’t be, Em. We’d be good parents.”
“Would we? Would we really? Because I am woman enough to say I know I wouldn’t be.” She’s right. What the hell am I going to teach a child? How to hunt? The way I was? I step back away from Emerson and scrub both my hands over my face. I fucked up. I shouldn’t have done that.
“You’re right.”
“Of course I’m right. You’re a murderer, and I’m just some whore who caught your eye.”
“No. No, you’re more than that!”
“Am I? Look at me, Gannix!” she screams. I stand back and look at her. I take her in, from the tears to the sad look in her eyes. She hates herself for what she’s become. And I hate myself for what they made me.
“I … I’ll get the doctor to put in a new one.” With that, I step out of the shower and leave her alone in there as heartbreaking sobs rip from her chest.
