Chapter 8
True to his word, Melo had been spoiling Kwinn from the moment she landed in California.
With the trip being last minute, she and Saiko still enjoyed their dinner before heading back to Kwinn’s place to pack a carry-on.
A part of her thought she’d arrive and Melo wouldn’t have time for her, but that hadn’t been the case at all.
He’d been attentive, cracking jokes with her, recording her little videos, and connecting her with folks on set who he knew would bring The Taylor Collective a coin.
Melo had Kwinn feeling like the leading lady in his life and not just in the music video.
It feels like bring your girl to work day, she texted Saiko and they joked about him showing her off.
When she landed, he was waiting for her at the private terminal in a black truck, with roses, wine, and something for her to eat.
From there, Sarge drove them straight to the beachfront home on the Pacific coast where they were staying.
The property was so beautiful that it made Kwinn wonder whether she should work a bit while she was there.
There was far too much inspiration not to.
The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water and the home's open layout had her ready to create magic. But she didn’t. More like she couldn’t.
It’d been two days since they shot the video, and no one had prepared her for the workload.
The video had a chill, laid-back vibe, capturing them as a couple, along with Laurent and another woman, but Kwinn had the leading role.
Though it was simple, between settling in, introductions, wardrobe changes, hair and makeup, and the California sun, Kwinn was exhausted.
She’d made up her mind that it’d be a few hours, some cute scenes, a little flirting, and then back to the house.
She had been grossly mistaken and had developed a newfound respect for anyone who worked on music video sets for a living.
Despite that, she still enjoyed so much, especially getting to see Melo in another one of his elements.
Watching him had been one of her favorite parts.
There was something so insanely attractive about a grown-ass man who knew he was that nigga.
Not boastfully, but in the way he carried himself and the people around him.
Melo’s stage and studio presence weren’t that much different while he was on set. He was just as focused.
When it was time to work, the playful side of him disappeared, and Melo became serious about every little detail.
He listened to the director, gave his opinion when something didn’t feel right, and never seemed bothered by doing another take if he wasn’t satisfied with the first one.
Every little thing he did had Kwinn in heat while he looked like walking sex dripped in money.
She was glad they were done working, and Melo clearly was too.
They slept in for a bit, and when they woke up, they had no real agenda for the day but grabbing food was a must. They ate breakfast at a spot overlooking the water.
It wasn’t anything fancy, but Kwinn enjoyed sitting outside, with the waves crashing against the shore as they ate and talked about a little of everything.
She didn’t realize how much she needed that.
Now, they were headed back to the truck after hours of shopping.
Kwinn had lost count of how many stores they’d been to.
The number of bags Melo and Sarge were carrying made her shake her head.
The ten bands he sent over were nothing compared to the amount he’d cashed out today.
When Kwinn asked what she could get, Melo told her whatever she wanted, and he meant it.
Rightfully so, Melo knew how to have fun with those funds.
Seeing Kwinn happy was his main priority, and she could run up in his pockets for as long as she wanted. There wasn’t a budget. Whatever Kwinn saw and wanted was hers. If she stared at a bag or a pair of shoes for too long, Melo would wave over an associate to assist them.
“All these bags is crazy.” Kwinn chuckled as she walked ahead of him.
Melo’s eyes were glued to the way her ass bounced in the white linen shorts cuffing her cheeks. With his free hand, he reached out and smacked it, then palmed it, causing a squeal to fall from her lips.
“Baaabe.” She pouted, whipping her head around. She hoped his security hadn’t been watching.
He grinned, pulling her against him. “What? I couldn’t resist touching it. And what you fussing about having all these bags for?”
“Because you truly did the most.”
They walked awkwardly toward the SUV’s trunk, where Sarge had begun putting everything inside. Melo handed over his load and wrapped both arms around Kwinn’s chest. Kisses to her neck made her knees weak.
“You look so pretty today. I tell you that?” Melo asked, kissing down her glowing exposed shoulder in the silk top that resembled a scarf. She was obsessed with the Brunel body oil and the way it made her glimmer. Clearly, Melo was too.
Blushing, Kwinn nodded. “Yes, from the moment we woke up, but I don’t mind hearing it.”
“Good, ‘cause I mean it. Not just physically. I can tell your heart is pure, and that makes a nigga wanna do whatever for you. Telling me no or that you don’t need anything only makes me wanna get it for you more. So, let me do that, a’ight?”
Knowing there was no winning with him on this, Kwinn sighed and nodded. “Okay. Now you need to feed me again. All that shopping has me hungry. I picked the wrong week to fast from meat.”
“Lucky for you, the type of meat you need can be swallowed or taken, and it won’t disrupt your fast one bit.”
Her bewildered expression and grin were comical.
Melo’s words were spoken so seriously, Kwinn couldn’t help but laugh and agree.
She’d gladly swallow that dick whole and let him stretch her walls now that she’d gotten a feel for who he was.
It’d taken every ounce of her morals to not fuck him down in the studio, and Kwinn was proud of herself for that.
“The fact that I know you’re serious gets on my nerves,” Kwinn said, laughing.
Smirking, Melo shrugged and pulled open the passenger door of a cherry-red Ferrari 458 Speciale.
His car salesman had come through with the rare find, and Melo was test-driving it for the week to see if he wanted to add it to his personal collection of toys.
The verdict was still out, but if it were up to Kwinn, it’d be his. She loved everything about it.
“That’s a’ight. I’ma feed you whichever way you like. Climb in,” Melo said.
Kwinn turned to face Sarge. “Thank you for carrying my bags.”
“Of course. It’s no problem at all,” Sarge said, shutting the trunk and stepping around to the driver’s seat of the SUV he was driving.
Smiling, Kwinn lowered into the car and looked up at Melo.
He leaned down and kissed her lips, accepting her tongue as she slid it inside his mouth.
Feeling frisky, Kwinn ran her palm across the bulge in his pants and squeezed his girthy dick.
The big dick energy Melo exuded matched the piece between his legs.
Both were a dangerous combination, but Kwinn loved a thrill.
“Ummm,” Kwinn moaned as he rubbed her pussy through the thin material of her shorts.
“You ruined these mothafuckas, luv,” Melo observed, feeling her wetness.
Kwinn’s eyes fluttered. “N-No, you ruined them.”
“That’s me who got this pussy wet like this, huh?”
“Yes,” she moaned softly.
Knowing he couldn’t make a scene for real and pull an orgasm out of her the way he wanted to, Melo withdrew his hand. Kwinn’s chest heaved as she gawked at him with lust-filled eyes.
“Get in the car,” Kwinn urged, adjusting in her seat.
Melo chuckled. “Yes, ma’am.”
The low growl of the engine made Kwinn’s entire body vibrate as Melo started the whip.
Easing away from the curb, he kept one hand on the steering wheel and reached for hers to hold as he drove.
With the top down, Kwinn enjoyed the wind whipping through her hair as they cruised down PCH.
Her dramatic layers and curls, with a deep side part, would surely need a touch-up.
Kwinn let her head fall against the headrest as she took in the California scenery.
Though beautiful, she couldn’t suppress the yawn that snuck up on her.
She was tired. Not the kind that made her want to go straight to sleep, though.
It was the good kind that came after spending an entire day or days with someone special and doing everything they loved.
Melo was that special person. For once, Kwinn wasn’t thinking about her clients or the projects she needed to finish.
She had laughed and enjoyed herself with a man she hadn’t known long at all, more than she had with her ex.
That realization made her chuckle, but it stopped when her phone rang.
On instinct, Melo’s eyes dropped to her lap where her phone was. Kwinn declined the call.
“Yo ex?” Melo said coolly.
Kwinn’s head snapped up. “Huh?”
He nodded toward her phone that was ringing again. “That nigga keep blowing your line down. You single, right?”
“Yes. Did anything give you the impression that I wasn’t?” Kwinn wondered.
“Nah. I mean, it’s crazy that you are. That’s his fuck-up, though. I don’t appreciate him interrupting any of our time, so you need to gon’ head and end that shit for good. Block him and focus on what we over here building.”
“And what exactly is that, sir?”
“Some shit you can be proud of and brag about. Some real shit that’s gon’ keep a smile on your face. I knew you had a nigga after I slid into your DMs that night, but it was obvious you ain’t give a fuck about the relationship anymore. So I left the ball in your court.”
“And you see where I’m ballin’ at. So, what’s the issue?” Kwinn asked.
