Chapter 13

In all of his thirty-plus years of birthdays, Melo couldn’t recall one where he felt so much at peace.

The others hadn’t been bad, but not many of them held a candle to today.

With no definite plans but to chill for the day until his dinner later tonight, Melo woke up not expecting much.

Not because he thought he wasn’t getting anything, but because he’d told everyone that he simply just wanted to relax.

He could do that, but unbeknownst to him, Kwinn had gone all out decorating the dining room with red, black, and silver decor.

She would’ve jazzed up the bedroom, but Melo was knocked out inside his king-sized bed, catching good Z’s.

Kwinn and his assistant, Nyla, tried to be as quiet as possible as they hung balloons, pinned streamers, and transformed the dining room and kitchen.

Some balloons floated, others were weighed down, and a red happy birthday balloon banner with the number thirty-eight, along with some shaped like hearts, made it feel like a true celebration.

Kwinn’s favorite part of the decor was the pictures she’d gathered of Melo throughout his thirty-eight years of life.

She printed them on Polaroids and stuck them around the room.

Of course, she included herself in a few.

Even though she was a new person in his life, she was just as important to Melo as people he’d known for years.

When he woke up, Kwinn had his breakfast hot and ready for him.

Being the person she is, she’d gone all out, draping the massive island with a black cloth and placing the food in circular warmers.

She’d had it set up as if it were catered, but it hadn’t been.

Kwinn got in that kitchen and whipped it up for her man.

Melo was all smiles when he finally made his way downstairs.

Kwinn had a mimosa waiting for him, knowing he’d appreciate the little buzz she claimed he’d have since she mixed hers with premium tequila.

While they ate and talked, Melo answered calls and responded to texts before she gave him his gifts.

Unsure of what to get a man who seemingly had everything, Kwinn bought him things she figured he needed or would like.

First on the list was a black Rimowa trunk with a custom luggage tag.

Then came multiple Louis Vuitton boxes containing beanies and clothes.

Another gift bag held bottles of cologne, more clothes she’d been collecting, two candles since he loved the ones at her place, pairs of shoes, a fitted KC hat, hand soap from FROHE, and she made him a personal-sized lemon cake with a card on the side.

Melo was damn near brought to tears. It felt good to be loved and celebrated to this magnitude from a woman who actually gave a fuck about him.

His family and friends, of course, showed their love, but having Kwinn there to bring in this new year of life was extra special.

Probably just as special, if not more, as it was watching her ride him.

They’d ventured to the living room after one too many drinks and were bringing in his birthday just how he liked it.

“Look at me while you ride this dick.” Melo’s raspy voice was almost missed over the music playing, but Kwinn heard him.

Her sexy moans meshed flawlessly with Pleasure P’s crooning as Walk Different by him and C-Ride floated through the surround sound system.

With a sickening arch in her back and pussy dripping down his pole, Kwinn rode his dick like it was going out of style.

Looking over her shoulder, she caught a chill at the sight of him…

of them and the love they were making. Her eyes clouded with pure bliss as they rolled.

Sexing her man had become a part of her routine—penciled in on her personal calendar.

Sometimes, she’d get one or two dick downs a day, and they surely kept her attitude away.

“Ooooh, fuck baby,” she whimpered as he smacked and gripped her ass.

Melo’s toes curled as he watched her with hooded eyes.

She was taking his dick like a pro, smoothly gliding up and down as if she owned it.

And she did. Kwinn got in a flow state, bouncing faster and harder.

Grabbing her hands, Melo held her wrists as his pelvis lifted from the ground.

He was delivering strokes so lethal, Kwinn could hardly breathe.

Sitting up, Melo repositioned them, pressing her back against his chest. Dick still buried deep in her wetness, he choked her while tonguing her down. Kwinn’s body vibrated as she creamed.

“Mmhmm,” he groaned, spanking her. “You feel so fucking good. This tight pussy will make me murk a nigga, baby. I swear.”

Turned on to the max, Kwinn moaned and lowered her body.

Lying flat on her chest, she threw her ass back, matching his strokes with a ferocity that Melo loved.

She could go round for round, wetting his dick up and not tap out.

He’d coached her from their first encounter, and baby girl had been a star player since.

Melo was honored, looking on with pride as her ass cheeks clapped against his muscular thighs.

“Uuugh, I love this dick so much,” Kwinn proclaimed, stating the obvious.

Melo licked his lips, rubbing the pad of his thumb against her asshole. “Yeah? What else you love, huh?”

Kwinn gasped. “I love yoooou.”

She sang her praises of the favorable pipe down he was giving her, ready to be on her Faith Evans tip.

Propping one leg up, Melo held her waist and dropped dick in her so superb, Kwinn’s head spun and pussy spasmed.

Knowing he was close, she flexed her walls around him, as he frowned in utter ecstasy.

“Shit,” he hissed, his grip tightening on her waist.

“That’s it, baby. I know you wanna cum deep in this pussy.”

Melo’s head fell back as he groaned from the depths of his soul.

Kwinn snatched that nut and every ounce of energy right up out of him, so she thought.

Finishing, Melo pulled out of her and dove headfirst between her slick thighs.

Suckling her clit into his mouth, he flicked his tongue at lightning speed, giving her anus the same treatment.

Kwinn shouted and cursed as another orgasm crashed down on her in waves.

Melo patted her ass three times, saluting her for a job well done.

“Is it my birthday or yours?” Kwinn asked, breathlessly, as she laid out on the floor, hugging a throw pillow.

“You just fucked me so good. Oh my gosh. I just need to lay here for a second.” Uncaringly, Kwinn voiced how he and that dick had her feeling.

Had she not already told him she loved him, she would’ve right then, with no questions asked.

Smirking, Melo kissed her cheek. “You can. We ain’t in no rush.”

They weren’t, but some people were trying to get ahold of him, as his phone rang. It’d been ringing, but they were so deep into one another that nothing else mattered. After a few minutes, Melo helped Kwinn to her feet so they could go upstairs.

“Damn, nigga. Happy Birthday. Got me calling yo’ shit back-to-back like you one of my hoes,” Roddy joked as soon as Melo answered his FaceTime call.

“Shut up whining, foo’. But ‘Preciate you,” Melo said.

“Happy B-day, bro. You old as hell, ain’t you?” East teased. He was on the call as well.

Melo smirked. “Thank you, thank you. And yeah, it’s feeling like it. You ain’t too far behind.”

East chuckled. “Far enough. What you got up for the day besides dinner later?”

“Shit, nothing right now. Might catch a quick nap. Kwinn went crazy in the kitchen this morning,” Melo said, smiling her way.

She blew him a kiss and laughed as Roddy started fussing. “Damn! We couldn’t get an invite? I had to see the lil’ set up on his story. Man, I tell you… niggas get a good woman in they life and switch up like a mothafucka.”

They all cracked up, unable to take him seriously.

“You’re invited next time, Roddy. Pinky promise,” Kwinn said.

Melo shook his head, watching him grin. “A’ight, sis, bet. I’ma hold you to that. What’s up, though, man? Can’t believe you thirty-eight out this bitch.”

Melo cracked a smile as the trio talked and cracked jokes like only brothers could.

Seeing their relationship made Kwinn wonder what it would’ve been like to have a brother.

While he answered more calls, Kwinn climbed into the shower.

She didn’t know what they’d get into for the day, but she wanted to at least be clean if something came up.

Unable to let her shower by herself, Melo stripped off his clothes and walked into the glass shower with multiple shower heads. His hands slipped around her waist, and Kwinn relaxed in his embrace.

“You done had a nigga smiling all morning, my baby. Thank you,” Melo said, kissing her neck as she washed up.

“You’re welcome. Did you finish the task I gave you?”

Melo chuckled. “Yeah, I did last night while you were sleeping. Wanna read them?”

“Only if you want me to. It’s personal, so it’s okay if I don’t.”

“Nah. I want you to. You the reason the list exists in the first place,” he stated.

Kwinn smiled. She loved hearing the underlying excitement in his voice. After showering, they brushed their teeth, moisturized, and slipped into lounge clothes. Melo was yawning like crazy, and she knew they weren’t getting out of the house anytime soon. Not until he at least got an hour of sleep.

While he replied to birthday shoutouts, Kwinn read over his list. An array of emotions flooded her as she read intricate details about his life.

A life before fame, during it, after, and parts that weren’t so glamorous.

Melo didn’t list just one or two things he was grateful for; he explained why.

Seeing how much thought he’d put into each bulleted point made Kwinn’s eyes misty.

“Baby,” Kwinn said, grabbing Melo’s attention.

He looked up from reading another text message. “Yeah?”

“One of the things you said you were grateful for was being able to give back, but you said you wanted to do more. I have an idea.”

All ears, Melo locked his phone and set it beside him. “A’ight. What you thinking?”

“So, with your shoe having just launched, I think it’d be nice to give back to the high school you went to. Or do a back-to-school drive. There are so many kids who may not have parents or anyone in their lives who have money for new shoes, clothes, and essentials.”

“You want kids?” Melo asked, catching her off guard.

Kwinn cackled. “Malone… what?”

“I’m saying, do you want any?”

“Yes, possibly. That’s not what you need to be focused on right now.”

“Shit, how can I not be? You really be making me want to put a baby in your gorgeous ass, talking the way you do. Raise a little girl or boy together after I ice that finger out. I’m telling you this now, so you won’t say I trapped you if shit goes left.”

Shaking her head, Kwinn didn’t fall for what he was saying.

She and her birth control shot had been locked in since she was in her twenties.

If Melo’s mighty sperm defeated it, she’d be very surprised and a first-time mommy for sure.

A wife as well because his word about putting a ring on it hadn’t been missed.

“I wouldn’t say that, but let’s focus on other people’s kids right now. Me and Saiko were talking about it and thought it’d be a good idea. Every year we donate to a high school, fund a few college girls’ dorm rooms, and I decorate them.”

“For real?” Melo asked, not one bit surprised but intrigued to get in on the mission.

“Mhm.” Kwinn nodded. “We know times can get rough, so we do as much as we can. Just something for you to think about.”

“Yeah, ain’t nothing to think about for real. I’ma hit up my contact at Adidas and see what they can come through with. See if we can pull some shit off within the next few weeks,” Melo expressed with his creative wheels turning.

Smiling, Kwinn crawled over to him near the edge of the bed. “I knew you’d agree. You never tell me no.” She kissed his lips.

“And I won’t unless it’s necessary. Ask me for whatever. Use me, baby. I’m your nigga. If you gotta idea in that pretty head of yours, talk to me about it. If you need anything and I got it, it’s yours. Even if I don’t got it, I’ma do whatever to get it for you, a’ight?”

Kwinn answered with a nod.

“Nah. Let me hear you,” Melo urged.

A wave of deja vu hit her. Like they were back in the studio, Kwinn asked, “What do you want me to say?”

“Say, I can come to my man for any and everything I want and need.”

Biting her lip, Kwinn grinned and repeated his words but with a twist. “I can and will come to my man for any and everything that I want and need because he gon’ give me that shit with no questions asked.”

“Yeah, there you go,” he praised, standing up from the chair, ready to slide inside her again. “Say that shit just like that and mean it.”

Seeing that look in his eyes, Kwinn shook her head. “No. Nope,” she said, giggling.

“What?” Melo asked, tugging at the little shorts she put on. “I just wanna eat it real quick.”

“I’ll let you if you let me take you out first. It’s your birthday, baby,” Kwinn reminded him.

Melo kissed her thigh and stood up straight with a grin. “You right. Let’s throw some clothes on and bend a few corners. It’s a real nigga’s birthday.”

His smile warmed Kwinn’s heart. Melo deserved the best on his day and every day after, and Kwinn was going to make sure he received just that.
