Chapter 2 #2
I take a deep breath and let it out forcefully.
Determined not to let another man ruin my fun.
I sip my drink and watch Cassey dancing with Christian.
Her smile is bright and flirty and his gaze doesn't leave hers.
They look like such the perfect couple. Both Gorgeous and lost in the moment with each other.
The song changes again to 'Sweet but Psycho' by Ava Max and immediately Cassey tries to find me.
It's one of our favourite songs and I down my drink and push my way through all the bodies to get to her.
She's already singing the words as she grabs my hands.
Christian laughs as Cassey and I practically serenade each other as we dance.
I'm having the best time and the tunes the DJ plays are killing it!
We dance through the evening and we all cheer when the King and Queen of Valentines get crowned.
Their a popular couple whose parents are on the college comity.
It's no surprise that they got chosen. She gets given a bouquet of roses and he gets a plastic bow and arrow that he makes a show of pretending to shoot. We clap as they dance together.
I get lost to the music as the dance floor fills up more and more.
I occasionally get bumped or I accidentally bump other people.
I'm tipsy enough to barely notice, so when I feel a pair of hands on my waist I don't think anything of it. Guessing it’s probably Cassey having a laugh I reach behind me and grind my butt against her.
Instead of Cassey's slight frame I feel someone distinctly taller.
The smell of Lynx engulfs me, invading my drunken haze. It is definitely not my best friend.
I spin around and come face to face with Nick who wastes no time in putting both hands around me and squeezing my arse as he pulls me against him. I instinctively pull away putting both hands on his chest but he holds onto me tighter.
“Do you mind?!” I glare at him and twist out of his grip.
“No, I don't mind and you didn't either when you were rubbing that sexy arse on me.” he said with a massive grin.
“I thought you were Cassey. Where is she anyway?” I stretch up on my tip toes to try and see over the sea of bodies and spot her a few feet away dirty dancing with Christian. It was about time they had a chance to get to know one another but selfishly I think they had the worst timing.
As I'm looking across the crowd Nick wraps his arms around me again and pulls me against him pressing his crotch against me.
I cringe and push away from him but his grip doesn't loosen.
I feel his warm breath against my ear. It stinks of alcohol.
“Looks like your friend is busy. Come on relax, dance with me.”
Like I'm gonna relax when this guy is so determined to piss me off. I try my hardest to peel his hands off of me. “Look I don't want to dance so let go of me.”
“Course you do. I've been looking forward to this all day.” He leans right into me and buries his face in my hair inhaling deeply.
I've tried to be nice but he seriously isn't getting it. I stomp on his foot as hard as I can and he jumps away from me. “Ow! What was that for?!”
Like they guy doesn't know?! Aside from me thinking for a second that he was Cassey I've not given the impression that I'm even remotely attracted to him.
“Get this through your head! I'm not interested!” I storm off in the direction of Cassey.
Shimmying through all the people dancing.
My buzz from my two practically lethal cocktails is gone and instead I'm left feeling light headed and dizzy.
It's suddenly far too hot and my ears start ringing.
The flashing lights just serve to disorientate me more and I feel bile rise up in my throat.
I attempt to leg it to the exit but someone bumps into me and I lose my balance.
I put my hands out as I fall forward and feel something stick into my hand as I hit the floor.
Strangely it doesn't hurt even though I know it should.
Must be the alcohol. Note to self don't mix spirits and definitely don't drink from a cocktail fountain at a college dance.
I try to push myself up again but the world spins.
I feel two hands under my arms lift me up and I look around to see Cassey and Christian.
“Hey Chicca let’s get you outside for some fresh air.” I hear Cassey laugh. “There must be more in that fountain than I thought.”
I think about saying something back but it seems like too much effort.
After what seems like ages we go through a set of doors into a hallway.
The air is instantly cooler and I flop down on the floor against the wall.
I close my eyes willing the world to stop moving but it feels worse so I open them again.
I can only hear my breathing and I try to get it to slow down.
Cassey kneels in front of me holding a bottle of water. “Here drink this you'll feel better.”
My hand shakes as I take the bottle and drink a little bit.
After a couple of minutes Christian goes back to the party and Cassey sits down next to me.
I drink a bit more water and eventually the world stops spinning.
I look around and realise I'm sat next to the door that leads outside.
It's wedged open and by the sounds of things the storm has pretty much stopped.
The cold air from outside helps clear my head a bit more.
That's when the pain in my hand makes itself known and I realise my palm is bleeding.
I must have landed on my bracelet. Sods Law.
I look over at Cassey and give her a questioning look. “How come you're fine?”
“I drove remember? I only had lemonade.” She motions to the water and I do as I'm told and finish the bottle.
The situation is usually the complete opposite.
When I can get hold of mums' car, I'm usually the designated driver.
That's one of the main reasons my alcohol tolerance is practically non-existent.
Cassey drinks. I drive. Although I appreciate her driving this time, I think I'll drive in the future.
Cassey can drink loads and be almost sober whereas I have one drink and I turn into jelly in a dress.
I never wanna feel like this again! I've seen Cassey have enough hangovers in the past so I know I'm gonna feel worse in the morning.
I groan and lean my head against the wall and Cassey giggles beside me.
The cool air from outside brushes against my skin again and I get up and go out the doors. I hear Cassey follow and see her check her phone in the corner of my eye. “It's late we should probably head home and get you in bed. Your gonna feel wonderful in the morning.” She giggles and I laugh back.
I'm actually feeling a lot better. I could feel the wind wrapping around me in a refreshing blanket and I'm feeling more and more normal by the minuet. I close my eyes and let the feeling surround me pushing away the last of my drunken haze.
“Krista I'm gonna let Christian know we're making a move.”
“Okay Hun I'll wait for you out here. The cool air is working wonders for my head.”
“Yeah tell me about it. You're standing on your own and not even swaying! I'll be back in a sec.”
She disappears inside leaving me on my own. I take my phone out from my purse and text my mum saying we're heading home then start scrolling through Facebook out of habit.
I hear a rumble of thunder in the distance and the wind starts to pick up again.
Looks like the storm is coming back for another round.
The same buzz of energy is in the air and the tingle runs up my spine for what feels like the millionth time that day.
I look around for the hooded figure knowing he must be out there somewhere.
I don't know if I'm scared or intrigued by him.
Either way I want to know what his problem is.
Light comes from the doors to the college but instead of Cassey, Nick comes out and makes a bee line straight for me.
His walk is deliberate but his movements are sloppy as he stumbles towards me.
“Hey s-sexy.” His words are slurred and I take a step back and put my hands out to stop him. “We nev-v-ver finished our dance.”
“I don't -” My words are cut off as he grabs my hands and pushes me hard up against the wall with my hands above my head.
My breath is knocked out of me as his weight presses up against me.
I try to kick him but he holds my legs still with his own.
I try to wriggle out of his grip but he's everywhere.
I can't move. His breath stinks and I turn my head away gasping for air.
He buries his head in my hair and starts kissing up my neck whilst grinding himself against me. I can feel his erection poking against my stomach and I struggle even more to get away from him.
“Get the fuck off me!!”
He lets out a deep moan before his mouth crushes mine.
His tongue demanding entry into my mouth.
I clamp my mouth shut and frantically try to turn my head away from him.
He lets go of one of my hands and grabs my bottom jaw shoving my head against the hall.
I cry out in pain and he uses the opportunity to invade my mouth.
My screams are muffled and I desperately hit and scratch him with my one free hand but he doesn't notice it.
Tears start falling from my eyes as I reach a new level of panic. How has no-one heard me?! Where's Cassey?!
He continues to rub himself against me moaning into my mouth as he does.
I see something move in my peripheral vision and see a dark-haired guy that I don't recognise. He's just standing there watching as Nick forces himself on me. More tears fall as I stare at the stranger. Pleading with him to help me.
Nick lets go of my jaw and shoves his hand between my legs. I squeal in shock as he rubs at me through my dress.
