Epilogue

The venue was adorned with elegant decorations. It was a huge hall and there were flowers in every shade imaginable lining the hall. My parents were seated in the front hall. Leo”s heart had broken because his father could not come to the wedding. But, he had no choice but to be happy that his father had at least given his blessings. He had forgiven his mother and invited me.

At the front of an aisle, there was an archway with flowers cascading down from the walls. The soft sound of the piano rent the air and everyone turned towards the entrance. Leo’s eyes had never left the entrance. He had been staring at it, his heart skipping a bear until I walked in, and it seemed as though time stilled.

His heart pounded against his chest as I walked down the aisle. I was beautiful! I had opted for a lovely lace gown that trailed behind me. I looked at him through my veil, my brown eyes glowing. His nerves were on overdrive, and he resisted the urge to scream.

Lisa and Lucy were standing at the altar waiting for me to arrive. They looked beautiful themselves in their navy blue bridesmaids gowns. Nehemy and Jeremy were his best friends for as long as he could remember. They also wore the same matching, charcoal gray tailored suits as he did and stood behind him.

As I reached the altar, Leo felt his breath catch in his throat. It almost felt like a dream. After all these years he had not only won me back, but he was also marrying me.

It was just a year since that night at the beach. Then, I agreed to be his girlfriend. It was six months after his grand proposal. He had planned out something personal and thoughtful. The kind of stuff he knew I would like.

He planned an elaborate treasure hunt. He hid little gifts at places that were important to their love. The route goes from their campus to the cafe where they used to hang out back in college. Then, to Sound ease, his office, my house, the beach, and finally to a hill overlooking the city. There, he waited on one knee with a box in his hand and asked me to marry him.

And Of course like he had prayed and hoped, I had said yes and now, here they were at the altar. As I arrived at the altar, he dug his hands into me and stared at me. My dress was beautiful, the delicate lace and beadwork shimmering in the light. My hair was held up in a ponytail with some parts left to drop down my face in loose curls. I had a tiara on my head, holding my veil.

If he didn’t know better, he would think he was dreaming. They turned to face the priest and heleanedto whisper.

“You’re beautiful”

I smiled. Color filled my cheeks as they exchanged their vows. They were then declared husband and wife.

Leo pulled me against himself, kissing me softly yet intensely in a way that was just the tip of all his emotions. I chuckled against his lips at the cheers and applause from the guests.

He couldn’t tell how long they danced while the reception went on, but he placed my head on his shoulder as they danced. Ed sheeran’s perfect playing in the background.

“I’ll love you forever Cassandra. Forever.” He muttered.

I smiled as they moved.

Eventually, it was time for I to toss my bouquet and the hall went wild with excitement. Leo leaned backwards. He watched as I stood at the center of the dance floor. The single women stood eagerly behind me. With a wide smile on my face, I flung the bouquet into the air, sending it backwards.

Leo couldn’t help chuckling as all the women dived, a small smile filling his lips when Lisa screamed loudly.

“I’ve caught it!” I yelled and the girls cheered me.

It was a brief moment, he could have missed it, but Leo saw my turn to Nehemiah and offer a sheepish grin.

His eyes widened when he saw Nehemy smile back. What on earth? He could have sworn he would know if…

“Hope you’re getting ready to marry me!” I teased waving the bouquet at his face.

Nehemy threw his head back in laughter, his green eyes filled with excitement. “Wouldn’t we at least be dating for that to happen?”

Leo swallowed. Well, at least they weren’t?—

“Leave them alone babe,” I whispered into his ear, chuckling.

Leo turned to me wide eyed, his heart thudding against his chest. He smiled at me and shrugged. His hands cupped my face and he leaned to kiss me.

“Hello there, Mrs Woodrow”

My eyes widened in shock and he couldn’t help laughing. He wanted to tease me with a second best joke but he thought less about it.

“Hello there Mr Woodrow,”

He chuckled and pulled me against himself, pressing his lips to mine. I was his now. His own. His girl. His wife.
