Jakes Epilogue

Twelve years have passed since that fateful day when Mia and I exchanged our vows, and our lives have transformed in ways we could never have imagined back then.

As I sit here on the porch of our sprawling farmhouse, sipping my morning coffee while watching the sunrise paint the sky with hues of orange and pink, I can't help but reflect on just how much things have changed.

The first few years were a whirlwind as we navigated the challenges of married life together.

Mia completed her MBA while working part-time at a local marketing firm, eventually landing her dream job as an advertising executive in the city.

Meanwhile, my security consulting business took off faster than I could've ever anticipated, requiring me to travel frequently for work.

Despite our busy schedules, we always made sure to prioritize each other and maintain an open line of communication. We knew that trust and honesty were the foundations of any lasting relationship, and we weren't about to let ours crumble under the weight of careers or distance.

One of the most significant changes in our lives was becoming parents.

Our daughter, Macy, arrived six years into our marriage, and she's been the light of our lives ever since.

From the moment I held her tiny body against my chest, I knew that nothing would ever be more important to me than being a good father to that precious little girl.

Macy has grown into a vibrant and intelligent girl, with a spirit that reminds me so much of her mother. Her curiosity and energy make us incredibly proud.

Our son, Max, came along five years after Macy, completing our little family unit. He's the spitting image of me, complete with my hazel eyes and dark hair, but he has his mother's warm heart and quick wit.

As I take another sip of my coffee, my thoughts drift back to Ryan.

It took some time for him to accept our relationship fully, but eventually, even his protective big brother instincts couldn't compete with the love and happiness Mia and I found together.

Nowadays, we're closer than ever before, with Ryan being a constant presence in both mine and Macy's lives.

He even helps me take care of Max, much to our little guy's delight. The three of us spend countless hours together, laughing and bonding as we help Max explore the world around him, teaching him about love, patience, and the joy of being together.

As for Mia and me, our love has only grown stronger with each passing year. We've faced numerous challenges along the way, but through it all, our bond has remained unbreakable. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't thank my lucky stars for having her in my life.

In just a few short hours, we'll be celebrating another milestone together: our twelfth wedding anniversary.

Mia has no idea what I have planned for her tonight—a surprise dinner at the very same restaurant where we had our first real date all those years ago—but I can already feel the anticipation bubbling inside me like champagne waiting to be uncorked.

I finish my coffee and stand up, setting the mug down on the table beside me as I prepare to head inside and get ready for work.

But before I do, I pause for a moment, taking in the sight of our property stretched out before me—the acres of rolling hills and fields that have become our sanctuary over these past twelve years.

As I walk into the kitchen later that day, still lost in thought about how our lives have unfolded over these past twelve years, I'm greeted by the tantalizing aroma of freshly brewed tea and something sweet baking in the oven. Mia must be making her famous blueberry muffins—my favorite.

I round the corner to find her standing at the counter, her back to me as she pours a cup of tea for herself. She's wearing an apron over her work clothes—a simple pencil skirt and blouse combo that always makes my blood run hotter than it should when she's just going about her day.

As if sensing my presence, Mia turns around, a soft smile playing on her lips as her gaze meets mine. "Hey there," she says warmly, handing me the mug of tea she prepared for me without even asking.

"Morning," I reply, taking the cup from her and leaning in to press a quick kiss to her cheek. "Something smells amazing."

Her smile widens as she turns back to the oven to retrieve the tray of muffins. "I thought I'd make some blueberry muffins for Max's lunchbox. You know how much he loves them."

"I do indeed," I say, watching as she places the hot pan down on a cooling rack before turning her attention back to me. "And I also know that they're not the only reason you are here now."

Mia raises an eyebrow at me, a hint of mischief dancing in her eyes. "Oh yeah? And what might that be?"

I step closer, wrapping my arms around her waist as I pull her against me. Her breath hitches slightly at our proximity, and it takes every ounce of self-control not to carry her upstairs right now and ravish her like the insatiable husband I still am after all these years.

"Today is a special day," I whisper low in her ear. "When we woke up today, we were both thinking about it."

Mia chuckles softly, her hands coming to rest on my chest as she leans back slightly to look into my eyes. "Well, maybe that's part of it," she admits playfully. "But mostly, I just wanted to surprise you."

My heart swells at her words, and I can't help but grin like a lovesick teenager. She knows me too well; after all these years together, Mia still goes out of her way to make me feel loved and cherished.

"Well, consider yourself out-surprised," I say, giving her a quick kiss before releasing my grip on her waist. "Because I have something planned for us tonight that I think you're going to love."

Mia's eyes light up with curiosity as she follows me over to the kitchen table where I've set out our laptops and some paperwork. "Oh yeah? And what might that be?"

"All will be revealed in due time," I tease, pulling out her chair for her before taking my seat across from her. "But first, let's get these reports taken care of so we can both have the rest of the day free."

We settle into a comfortable rhythm as we work side by side, each of us focused on our respective tasks but always stealing glances at one another when we think the other isn't looking.

It's moments like these that remind me just how lucky I am to have found someone who not only understands and accepts every part of me but also challenges me to grow into a better man.

As we finish up the last report, Mia closes her laptop with a satisfied sigh and looks at me. "Okay, Mr. Mysterious," she says, leaning back in her chair with her arms crossed over her chest. "You've piqued my interest. Spill the beans."

I laugh, pushing back from my own seat as I stand up and extend my hand to her. "Very well," I say as she places her hand in mine and allows me to pull her to her feet. "But you're going to have to come with me if you want answers."

Mia raises an eyebrow but doesn't resist as I lead her out of the kitchen and down the hallway towards our bedroom. Once inside, I guide her over to the walk-in closet, where a surprise waits for her.

"Ta-da!" I say, throwing open the door to reveal a stunning evening gown hanging from its hanger right in the middle of the space. "I thought it was time you had something new to wear on our special occasion."

Mia gasps, her eyes widening as she takes in the sight of the shimmering fabric and delicate beading that adorns the dress. "Jake," she breathes, reaching out tentatively to touch the material with her fingers. "It's... it's gorgeous."

I step back, allowing her room to admire the gown properly while I watch the emotions play across her face. "Do you like it?" I ask softly, even though I already know the answer.

Mia turns to face me, tears shimmering in her eyes as she nods. "I love it," she answers. "Thank you so much."

I close the distance between us, wrapping my arms around her waist once more as I lean down to press a soft kiss to her forehead. "You deserve only the best," I whisper against her skin. "And tonight, we're going to celebrate twelve years of loving each other like nobody's business."

Mia smiles up at me, her eyes shining. "I can't wait," she says, pressing a quick kiss to my lips before pulling away slightly. "But first, let's eat a little, okay?"

We make our way back out to the kitchen, where Mia prepares two plates of blueberry muffins and more tea, complete with whipped cream and fresh berries on top. Coming back, as we climb into our king-sized bed together, I can't help but marvel at how truly lucky I am to have this woman in my life.

As we finish eating, Mia sets her empty plate aside and turns to face me, her expression thoughtful. "Jake," she says softly, "do you ever think about how different our lives would be if you hadn't kept that promise to Ryan?"

I pause for a moment before answering, considering the question carefully. "You mean, if I'd pursued you when you were still off-limits?" She nods. "Sometimes," I admit. "But only because it helps me appreciate everything we have now even more."

Mia smiles, leaning in to press a soft kiss against my lips. "Me too," she whispers against them. "And who knows? Maybe waiting all those years made us stronger somehow."

"Maybe," I say, pulling her closer as our lips meet once more in a slow, deep kiss that promises so much more than just words can express.

As our kiss deepens and Mia's body presses against mine, I can feel the heat building between us, threatening to consume us entirely if we don't find a way to release some of this pent-up tension.

It's been too long since we've had time for each other like this, with no interruptions or responsibilities vying for our attention.

I pull back slightly, breaking the kiss as I look into Mia's eyes, now dark with desire. "What do you say we continue this celebration now?" I suggest.

Dinner at that restaurant will have to happen later…

Mia bites her lower lip, a telltale sign that she's just as eager to take things further. "I thought you'd never ask," she says playfully, pushing me onto the bed and climbing on top of me with a wicked grin.

I let out a low growl, my hands finding their way to her hips as I grind against her, letting her feel exactly how much I want her right now. Mia moans softly in response, her head tilting back slightly as she gives herself over to the sensations coursing through her body.

But I need more, to taste her, to feel every inch of her silken skin, and to hear those breathless sounds she makes when she's completely lost in pleasure. I flip us over so that Mia is now beneath me, her hair fanning out across the pillows like a halo.

"Too many clothes," I murmur against her neck, my hands already working to remove her blouse and unhook her bra. Mia arches her back, her nipples hardening as they're exposed to the cool air of our bedroom.

I take one pert bud into my mouth, swirling my tongue around it before gently biting down, eliciting a gasp from Mia's lips.

Her fingers tangle in my hair, holding me against her as I continue my assault on her breasts, switching between each one until she's squirming beneath me, desperate for more.

"Jake," she whimpers. "You know what I want right now."

I know what she needs, and I'm more than happy to oblige. Sliding down her body, I make quick work of removing the rest of her clothes—her skirt, panties, all of it—until she's laid bare before me like an offering.

Taking my time, I kiss my way up her inner thighs, feeling them quiver under me as anticipation builds within her. When I finally reach her center, I pause for a moment, breathing in her sweet scent and reveling in the power I hold over her body right now.

With a slow, deliberate lick, I taste her, drawing another moan from Mia's lips as she grips the sheets beneath her, fasting them tightly in her hands. I continue my torment, lavishing attention on every inch of her with my mouth and tongue until she's writhing with need.

"Jake," she begs again. "I... I want you inside me right now so much."

Not one to ignore a direct plea from my wife, I quickly strip off anything left that's still covering me before settling myself between her thighs once more. Mia reaches for me, guiding my cock towards her entrance as we both let out sighs of relief when I finally slide home.

We take our time, moving in perfect sync as our bodies find that familiar rhythm that only comes from years of being intimately connected to one another.

Mia's hands roam over my back and shoulders, her nails digging into my skin as she meets me with every movement, urging me deeper still. I can feel the tension coiling within her, and I know that she's close to the edge.

Reaching between us, I find her clit with my thumb, rubbing circles around it in time with our lovemaking until Mia cries out, her entire body convulsing with pleasure as she comes undone beneath me.

The sight of her lost in ecstasy sends me careening over the cliff after her, filling her up with my load.

As we come back down to earth together, I roll onto my side, pulling Mia against me so that our bodies remain connected even as our hearts beat in sync. She smiles at me, her eyes still glassy.

"I love you," she whispers, leaning in to press a soft kiss to my lips.

I smile back at her, brushing a stray lock of hair away from her face before tucking it behind her ear. "Love you too," I say. "More than words can express."

We lie there like that for some time, lost in each other's arms and the warmth that comes from knowing we have all the time in the world to explore every inch of each other's bodies.
