9. You’re The Moonlight… #3
I stared at him in awe for a minute. Vayce’s tone was always like he hadn’t said anything or as if his words meant nothing when they meant everything to me.
I didn’t have the words to respond because my heart was fluttering out of my chest. I knew he meant it because he showed it past his actions and in how he prioritized everything regarding me.
“Here, mama. It’s smoked. I order this for lunch a lot,” he held the fork to my lips. “Open your mouth.”
I blinked myself out of the daze and accepted the food. As I chewed, I was shocked at the flavor. “Mm. That shit is good. How the hell did they learn they can smoke a salad?”
“Told you,” Vayce smiled. “And you know niggas will fry anything or throw whatever on the grill just ‘cause we can.”
We shared a laugh. Outside of the music playing on his record player, we ate in silence. I didn’t eat beef or pork, so while he dug into his steak, I fucked up the wings from The Chicken Hut with my Caesar salad and a yeast roll.
Once we finished eating, Vayce turned on Jason’s Lyric .
He sat with his legs in front of him and I stretched out on his lap.
He told me a few weeks back that this was his favorite movie and after finding out I hadn’t seen it, he judged me so hard.
So far, it was pretty decent, but we couldn’t stop running our mouths for me to truly watch it.
“I got Zion’s birthday gift and no I’m not telling you what it is,” he said, knowing damn well I was about to ask.
“Boooo. This nigga stinks.”
I told him about the conversation with Zy the other night and he thought it was the funniest shit.
Vayce laughed. “You cool with me inviting Valen?”
“I would love for my girl to come.”
He gave me a fake annoyed face. “Your girl?”
“You hard of hearing?”
Vayce’s hand went across my ass before continuing to rub it. I don’t know if it was the wine in me or what, but the slap went straight to my pussy, and I wanted him to do it again.
“I have something for you.”
I angled my head so I could see his full face. He was already looking down at me. “And what’s that?”
Vayce smiled. “First,” He leaned forward, grabbed something then leaned back, dangling a vine of grapes over my lips. “Taste this for me,” his deep voice dropped a few octaves.
Giving him my eyes, I extended my tongue, and he lowered it to my mouth. I slowly ran my tongue across the three I was planning to get off, watching the fire ignite in his eyes. Vayce lowered the vine, and I used my jaws to suck them into my mouth.
“Fuck,” he whispered.
“Mm,” I moaned as I bit into one. “Now you taste it.”
His thick lips covered mine, kissing me with passion that made my clit jitter.
I moaned against his lips, sitting up so I wouldn’t choke on the ones still in my mouth.
Sliding my tongue into his warmth, I pushed the grapes into his mouth, kissed him once more, then pulled away.
He looked down at me as he chewed and I bit into my bottom lip watching his fine ass.
If I got to make a home inside of him like the grape did, then I’d decided exactly what I wanted to be in the afterlife.
“Sweet. Juicy. A lil’ tangy on the backend,” he slapped my ass again then kissed my neck. “Still ain’t as sweet as you though.”
I moaned, pushing him away. “Show me the gift, before I fuck you.”
“I wouldn’t mind that either.” Vayce pulled my body up and patted his knee. “Give me your foot.”
I placed my right foot on his lap. He stroked up my leg, behind my calf, then down to my ankle before lifting it to kiss along it. I squirmed and giggled under his touch.
“I've never been into feet, but every time I’m around you, I gotta have my hands on them or your legs. The shit is weird, but they’re so beautiful to me.”
“It’s not weird, baby. You like what you like.”
He kissed the inside of my ankle again then grabbed a box from his pocket and when it opened, my mouth dropped.
“I could only think of one thing that would make it better. Diamonds.” He unhooked the anklet and laced it around my skin.
I twirled my foot, watching the diamonds dance against it.
He pulled my foot back, admiring it for a minute, then kissed the top of it. “Damn, J. That’s perfect.”
I squealed. “It’s so damn pretty and it matches my toes perfectly. I appreciate you so much! I promise it ain’t ever coming off. Can I shower with it?”
Vayce released a small chuckle as he glanced up at me.
He pressed another kiss on my ankle. “I wouldn’t waste time giving you some shit out the mall or from a jeweler everyone else has access to.
You can go live under water for the rest of your life and these mutha’fuckas would still shine the same.
These diamonds are custom cut. That’s all we wear, baby. ”
“Damn. I love that you have cartel money,” I shook my head. Vayce hollered. “No seriously, thank you for always thinking of me. That means everything, Vayce.”
He tapped my nose then kissed my lips. “And you’re becoming everything to me.”
“Ditto.” I kissed him again. We sat in silence for a few seconds before he spoke.
“Aight. I’an tryna kill the vibe, but how have you been mentally? I know you struggled a bit finding your new normal. Have you found what and who you are looking for within yourself yet?”
I sat up from his lap. It was a loaded question, but it was one I’d asked myself a few times a week.
He was right, it was a struggle, but it was a beautiful one.
Change was hard, but anything new typically was, you just had to want it bad enough.
I did and I’d been working hard as fuck to obtain the peace that was rightfully mine.
“Uh, I think it’s a daily thing. Since I’ve started this journey, I’m more attentive so I’m continuously finding something new out about myself, whether it is a big or small thing. Like today, I found out I am not as patient as I thought I was. I lack the spirit of waiting,” we shared a laugh.
“Your patience is thin as paper, mama.”
“Excuse you!” I laughed, reaching over to brush crumbs from his beard.
“Seriously though, I’m learning, Vayce. I’m not one hundred percent there yet, but I’m not who I was when this summer started.
I think we view progress as this big ass step, but it’s not.
Even if you take one step, it should be celebrated because the place you originally stood is still behind you and the destination is closer.
That shit counts. Maybe not to the world, but to me it does.
Motion is motion and, in this season, I’m giving myself flowers for things I brushed off.
I’m in my rediscovery, bad bitch era and it is about saying yes to myself.
Yes, to pleasure, yes to new experiences, mistakes, being desired, being seen, and as I start saying yes to my life…
” I trailed off getting lost in his eyes.
Vayce licked his lips. “I’ll start saying yes to you too. ”
His lips rested against my forehead as he took a deep breath, forcing me to do the same.
“That shit makes me so happy to hear ‘cause I can feel the confidence behind it. I can see the change, but it wouldn’t mean shit if you didn’t.
I’m proud of you, J and I want you to know that every yes you give me will be nurtured as if it were my own. ”
“I know,” I slid my hand under his shirt, wanting more skin to skin. “Thank you.”
Another hour passed and we were still outside.
Vayce and I counted the few stars in the sky and picked the brightest one to make a wish.
It was simple, corny even, but somehow it made us feel connected.
Thankfully, the temperature dropped, but we couldn’t feel the difference since we finished two full bottles of wine and were currently taking shots out of the bottle playing some game I came up with on a whim.
We wrote down some questions on some paper, balled it up and put it in a bowl.
If you pulled it, you had to answer or do what it said. If not, you have to take a shot.
We were crossfaded and feeling every effect. I grinded my hips to the beat in the background, snapping my fingers. It was my turn, so I pulled a piece of paper from the bowl.
“Whew. Okay. This shit says. Wait, what does it say?” I blinked a few times, bringing it closer to my face. “Damn. Why I keep pulling my own shit! What’s the first thing you noticed about me? And don’t say my beauty. That’s lame.”
Vayce laughed loud as hell. He was leaning back on his elbows watching my every move through his low eyes.
“Shit, uhh. Let me think.” His eyes skipped in a circle before returning to me.
He smirked. “That you were obedient. Stubborn as a bull, but you’ll listen for the right one.
I told you to sit your ass down and you did,” his head moved to the other side as he licked his lips.
“You were a good girl before I ever made you one.”
My essence slipped out my canal and seeped onto the seat of my panties. It was his tone, the truth of it, and how fucking sexy he looked saying it. “Vayce.”
“What’s up, mama?” He sat up, grabbing my arm to tug me closer. I gasped when he wrapped a hand around my neck, moving so close that our lips just barely touched. “I know my name. There are other words that you can use and four that I want to hear.” He bit my bottom lip causing me to moan.
In this position, I forgot how to think or speak. Shit the only thing I could think of was to burst into a nursery rhyme. The words I spoke were the truth, but not what he was looking for. “I want you.”
“Nah,” Vayce gripped my neck tighter. “That’s not it, Miss J.”
“My pussy is wet,” I breathed as his other hand stroked the inside of my thighs the same way he did in the mirror. “Baby..”
“You see what I mean?” He dropped a wet kiss on my lips. I was melting in his embrace, going blank in the brain and he hadn’t done much. “A good mutha’fuckin’ girl.” He kissed me again. “Stand up and take everything off.”
