Bitten
Chapter twenty-two
Ihurt Olivia.
The words pounded in my brain. I could feel the bond, but it was overwhelmed with the guilt that filled me to the brim. My mate. My scentmatch. And I'd nearly torn her apart with my teeth.
Her tart, slightly minty taste still coated my teeth, despite Kienan wiping the blood off my face. Her blood. My mate's blood. Fuck!
"It would have happened sooner or later," Kienan told me. He set a mug of tea in front of me. As if that would help anything.
"You did this," I snarled. "You brought her into a house with two feral alphas and you didn't protect her."
"This was the plan all along. You went about it a little poorly, but she'll be alright. Vale is stitching her up right now," he assured me.
"It's not okay, you fucking asshole. Just because you wanted us to claim her doesn't mean it's okay to rip her apart while I'm out of my mind!"
Kienan blew out a breath and grabbed his own cup of tea. "I get it. I know you're upset and you didn't mean to hurt her, but let's stop and look at this logically, okay?"
I glared at him, but it didn't phase our leader.
"Our pack was about to fall apart. You, Vale, you're both at the end.
An omega was the only way to stop this and we got lucky with our scentmatch," he said.
"This was not how you wanted it to go down, but now you'll be better.
Hopefully, this bond will be just what you need to stay sane and I'm pretty sure even Olivia will forgive you for that. "
"It's not about her forgiving me. She's my mate. I never should have hurt her," I told him sadly. The man was oblivious and I didn't know how to get through to him.
There was a noise on the stairs and when I turned, Olivia was there, her shoulder heavly padded with bandages. The sight of the white gauze against her pale skin made me want to vomit and I turned my eyes away from her.
"Dean?" Her voice was small and light, just like her. It made my heart ache.
"Stay away from me," I rumbled. "I hurt you. It could happen again."
"I don't think so." She walked straight to me without fear and climbed into my lap, pressing my soaked pants into my skin. "I know you weren't yourself. I'm fine, so don't feel bad. You can feel me in the bond, right?"
I shook my head, pulling away from her gentle touch. "I don't want to. I don't deserve to feel you or touch you ever again."
"Stop it, Dean!"
Olivia reared back and slapped me hard across the face, sending my head to the side.
"What the fuck?" Vale came leaping across the room, looking close to feral himself.
"There, now we're even. Happy?" Olivia sat back and glared at me.
"We're not even. I tore your flesh open! With my teeth!" I glared at her. "We're not even until you do the same to me."
She tilted her head. "Fine. Take off your shirt."
"What?"
"Take. Off. Your. Shirt. You want a bite, I'll give it to you. I'll even make it hurt, though I'd rather not."
Something pulsed deep inside me. She wanted to bite me back?
Slowly, keeping my eyes on Olivia, I peeled my shirt off over my head. It was soaked in her blood and it had seeped through to my skin.
Olivia trailed her fingers over my chest, running them across the scars as she prepared herself. I could see in her eyes, she was deciding where to sink her little teeth in.
"Do it," I said roughly, tapping the top of my shoulder, right where I'd bitten her. "Rip me apart."
Instead of biting me, the little omega leaned forward me, pressing her lips to mine. "I haven't even kissed you yet."
The kiss would have been incredible if I didn't feel like dying because she didn't deserve to be here. She never should have been kidnapped. Or forced into a bond that she had never chosen.
"Hey." Olivia pulled back with a frown. "Stop overthinking. I can't tell exactly what you're thinking, but the emotions come through the bond. You did something awful, but you were feral. I forgive you, now forgive yourself."
Then she bit me. Those little teeth were sharper than I'd expected and just like I'd told her to, she tore into me, sinking her teeth deep and shaking like a ferocious little dog. By the time she let go, the pain was spreading rapidly through my shoulder.
Lifting a face dripping with my blood, Olivia studied me. "Better?"
The bond was fully complete, overtaking my guilt and pouring her calm through it. She really wasn't angry at me.
"Yes. Thank you." I leaned in and kissed her back this time, pushing aside all other thoughts. "You really are perfect for us."
"Told you," Kienan grumbled.
I snapped my teeth at him. "You don't get to say fuck all. You kidnapped our mate."
"How many times do I have to tell you it was the only way we could get hold of an omega?"
Feeling Olivia's frustration through the bond, I glared at the man and pulled her closer. "You fucked up, buddy. You know it. We know it."
"Dean, you need to dress that wound," Zephyr said. "Come upstairs."
"My mate can tend it," I said, not pulling my eyes from Kienan. "Right, Olivia?"
She didn't answer, but immediately bent to lick the wound until it stopped bleeding.
Every swipe of her warm tongue sent more blood rushing to my groin and it was all I could do not to start jerking my hips against her.
I'd embarrassed myself enough though. Cumming twice in my pants with our precious omega was not something I wanted to continue doing.
Scooping her up, I carried Olivia toward the stairs. She wrapped her legs around me and kept licking and cleaning my biteuntil I could barely walk.
"Where the hell are you going now?" Vale called out.
"To properly claim my mate instead of embarrassing myself for the third time," I shot back.
I carried her into my room and tossed her gently on the bed while I turned to lock the door. For good measure, I jammed a chair under the knob too, making Olivia giggle.
Then I turned, undoing my belt and pushing my pants down over my hips. "I'm going to devour you in the best ways, little one."
She suddenly looked nervous.
"You'll love it," I promised.
"It's not that. I'm broken, Dean. I don't slick, I don't have heats. I don't even know if I can cum anymore." She looked embarrassed, but I caught her chin and tilted it up.
"Baby, you're not broken, you're just right for us. Let me show you?"
She reluctantly nodded and I smiled. Let the games begin.
