Chapter 7
Sean
“Jesus Christ…” I whisper under my breath as Callie comes into view. She saunters down the stairs of Mac’s house, the music blaring and making the walls jump to the beat. She’s wearing all black, her mini skirt looking like it’s sewn onto her skin, dipping just under the curve of her ass and making me itchy to reach out and grab a handful of it. Her top is tight too, fitting like a glove and showcasing her perfect chest. Her thick curls cascade down her back, swishing with her as she takes each step at a time, her heels clicking and making her legs look long and sultry. A slap on the back of my shoulder pulls my eyes away from Callie.
“Think you’re drooling there man, not a good look.” Kyle says, breathing a heavy laugh and bringing his frosty beer glass to his lips.
“I swear I’ve had a wet dream exactly like this.” I groan, shaking out the dark curls that sit on my head.
Kyle titters next to me and yanks my arm towards a group that has congregated around the kitchen island. Of course my eyes are on Callie immediately, who leans her hip into the counter and sips at some fruity concoction. She’s chatting with the group, they’re having a debate about some shit, I don’t know and I don’t care. I wrap my huge arm around her chest and rub my other fist on the crown on her head like she’s five years old. She scowls up at me and then shoves me with all her might, which is the might of a mouse.
“Get off me Sean! Why do you have to be so fucking annoying? Is it your new hobby now or something?” She runs her fingers through her hair, shaking out her chocolate curls.
I grin, booping her nose and earning another slap on the arm. “I think it is my new hobby, I’m enjoying it.”
“Yeah well I’m not, so can you piss off and annoy someone else please? There’s some girls over there that I”m sure would love to go upstairs with you, keep you busy and out of my way for a while.”
She spins around, facing away from me and continuing her conversation with Lewis and the others. Does she not understand what’s going on here? I don’t want any other girl, I want her. I’m so far from interested in other girls it’s actually worrying me, I’m losing my touch.
I lean down to her ear, her hair tickling my nose. “Never going to happen tiger, it’s you that I want.”
Her green eyes catch mine over her shoulder and I see her falter for just a second, before the familiar scowl returns and she spins back to Lewis. God, I love this game we’re playing.
After a few hours of watching my friends drink themselves stupid and pretty much just staring at every detail of Callie’s body, I decide I’m done being sober. I wasn’t planning on drinking tonight, we have a day off from training and games tomorrow so I thought I could get shit done, you know, be productive and all that. But I need some sort of anaesthesia for my dick, every time I look at Callie he jumps for joy like he’s getting some tonight, he’s not and we both know it. I don’t know if I’ve ever gone this long without sex and I”m not sure how much longer I can wait. But the kicker is, no other girls are doing it for me right now. Even the thought of taking some random girl upstairs and fucking her just isn’t exciting me like it usually would. One drink, that will be enough to blur my mind a little and make this evening pass by more easily.
As I make my way into the huge, open plan kitchen, making a beeline for the array of alcohol that’s scattered all over the countertops, I see Mac. He’s stuck to the spot, fixated on something and when I follow his line of vision I spot the girl who’s quickly taken over my mind. Mac is staring at her ass, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth and readjusting his junk like a teenage boy who’s never seen a sexy woman before.
Fucking pervert.
I grab the back of his collar, yanking him back towards me and making him stumble.
“Hey Mac, keep looking at my girl’s ass like that and I’ll have to break your fucking neck.” I growl into his ear.
The little fucker is so annoying most of the time anyway but watching him fantasise about what’s under Callie’s clothes the same way I do makes me consider acts of violence that I never have before.
He turns around and breathes a stuttered sigh. “Oh shit, sorry Cap, didn’t realise you two were a thing.”
“Well, now you know, keep your eyes off what’s mine.” I say, slithering past him and moving across the large expanse of kitchen towards Callie. Fuck the drink, I don’t want other guys staring at her like that, like they want a piece.
I snake my arm around her tight waist and kiss the crown of her head as Mac slinks away with a frown. She knows it’s me before she looks up, I can tell by the way she stiffens under my touch and I wait for her to shove me away again, but she doesn’t.
Instead I’m greeted with an eye roll and a muttered, “Fuck off Sean,” but she doesn’t wriggle out of my grip. My chest tightens and my dick does a dance at the realisation that she might actually be warming up to me. Maybe I can get a kiss from her tonight…fuck me what I wouldn’t do to get a taste of her soft lips. The same lips that are moving seductively right now, continuing her conversation with Anais, Kyle and Nick, whilst pretending her heart isn’t beating 100 miles per hour with my hand wrapped around her middle. If she thinks I can’t tell the way her body reacts to me then she’s crazy, I feel her pulse quicken and the air thicken between us every time I”m near her.
I eventually remove my arm from Callie’s waist and join in with the conversation, receiving a knowing wink from Kyle as his eyes track my arm where I let it rest possessively on the island behind Callie. “I’m not fucking telling you her name so just back off.” Nick groans as Kyle continues to tease him about this new, mysterious girl he’s been secretly seeing.
“Come on, just tell us, is she blonde?” I snicker, pressing my palm into his shoulder.
He shakes his head. “Brunette, actually,” He smiles and I let out a belly laugh at seeing him blush like that over a girl.
Nick is a lot like Kyle and I, we don’t usually go further than a one night stand with women, but it seems like me, Nick has become infatuated by this mystery girl. Maybe we’re all growing up.
“I thought you hockey boys only date blondes.” Callie says, lifting her almost empty glass to her pouty lips, lips I would die to suck into my mouth right now.
“Nah, that’s a myth,” I muse and she turns to me. “We only date 5-foot-4, sassy mouthed girls who think they’re better than us. You fit any of that criteria?” I grin and she rolls her eyes at me.
“You don’t date anyone Sean Taylor, you just fuck and chuck.” “I think I”d like to date you Callie Burch.” I whisper, still grinning at her. I see her emerald eyes flicker to my lips before she blinks, trying to hide the fact she wants me, I know she does.
“Hey, did Pelker’s skate cut your stomach earlier? Coach said something in the locker rooms about you needing to ice your stomach as well as that gash across your face.” Nick interrupts my unspoken moment with Callie and it takes me a moment to remember what the fuck he just said. My mind is on some sort of hallucinogenic drug when she’s around me and I can’t fucking think straight.
“Erm, yeah I did cut my stomach but it’s not that bad. It’s probably healing up already.” I say, lifting the hem of my t-shirt and showing Nick the long, but thin gash that slices through the centre of my hard stomach. Callie groans beside me and I flick my eyes to her face. It’s twisted into a painful expression and a flash of panic hits me in the chest, is she hurt or something?
“What’s wrong?” I say, letting my t-shirt fall back down to cover my stomach.
She gives me her signature scowl. “Can you stop showing me your sexy body? I’m trying so hard to resist you here and you’re not making it any easier for me.”
A loud laugh explodes from me and Kyle at the same time.
“I think someone is wavering…” He says, smirking at Callie whilst she narrows her eyes even further at both of us.
“Never,” She states, clenching her thighs together and making my dick instantly hard with need. “I might be finding it hard to resist his hot body but he makes it easier for me every time he opens his mouth and words come out.”
A smirk covers my face. “I can use my mouth to make you happy if you want, wanna go upstairs now and I”ll show you?”
She scoffs, flicking her hair. “You wish I was that easy Taylor.” She saunters away and I watch her with a satisfied grin on my face. She can deny it all she wants, but she’s definitely wavering.
“Why is she playing so hard to get? I know she wants me.” I say to Anais who is also watching Callie make her way up the narrow staircase of Mac’s huge house share.
Anais snickers. “She’s not playing hard to get, she is hard to get. She only broke up with her boyfriend a week ago and she doesn’t do hook ups. I’ve known her for almost two years now and not once has she had a one night stand.”
I sigh, I guess I”ll compromise then, if that’s what it’s going to take to get what I want.
“I guess I could break my ‘no dating’ rule to win her over. If I’m going to see anyone more than once it’s going to be her. There’s just something about her, I just can’t…I can’t stay away.” I muse as Callie’s sexy thighs disappear out of view at the top of the staircase.
Anais tips the last few drops of her drink to her mouth and tries to hide her smug smile. I think I”m already ready to give up the fight, Callie has made it pretty clear that’s she’s not going to be the one to give in easily. She says she doesn’t want to hook up, so maybe I could take her on a date instead? The idea alone makes me shiver with equal parts excitement at being around her and also complete and utter panic. I’ve never dated anyone before, it’s unknown territory for me and if I”m being honest it scares the shit out of me. But I think I need to put my big boys pants on and accept that I really fucking like this girl and I think it goes past just sex. Wow, I think I am growing up.
