One Adult Ticket to the Apocalypse

An emergency broadcast stops the freeway cold, and she peels off at the nearest ramp that is not already overrun, landing at WonderSphere—a sprawling theme park with walls, food, water, supplies, and plenty of the undead.

Paying for a ticket seems like the civilized option until the attempt collapses, she slips inside anyway, gets beaten by a waist-high gate, and finds herself the unplanned proprietor of a shuttered park, churro cart and all.

Joel, a grim operations holdout, is sure she will get herself killed the moment she moves; Beck, an upbeat disaster in a fish vest, builds zombie traps out of ride hardware and cheers her clumsy victories; Grant, a gentle animal doctor, made it through with capybaras, a baby wallaby,

and a look soft enough to wreck her composure.

Clearing the grounds, patching the walls, phoning her mother, and protecting the animals would be a full schedule even without the four-way attachment taking shape.

Gregory, a rotting hanger-on who refuses to quit, keeps crashing the romance, and he is not being invited to stay.
