Chapter 10
“You didn’t have to do all this,” Faye said, glancing sideways at me as we walked down the long pathway toward the river. “I thought we were just going to talk.”
I stared at her, shaking my head. The hell if I didn’t.
She’d given me one chance to have her attention, and I wasn’t going to waste it.
Shit, I’d spent both intermissions on the phone setting this up.
I didn’t care what it cost. I wanted to show Faye how much she meant to me… how I was willing to earn her love.
“If tonight is all we have, then I’m going to make it special.”
“Okay.” She smiled as we closed in on the riverboat.
I couldn’t believe I was here with Faye. Her showing up for the game had thrown me for a loop, so I hadn’t even thought twice before I ran off the ice after her. I was going to have to send somebody GZN Sports some flowers because boy did they help my ass out.
She gasped. “A boat, Jax?”
“Yeah. Take a ride with me.”
I extended my arm and helped her on board the boat before I settled in beside her.
“I figured this was the perfect setting for what we need to talk about.” I pulled out a small basket I’d had packed for us. “I got chocolate-covered strawberries and a bottle of wine, and if you don’t like what I have to say, you can toss me overboard.”
Her eyes lit up as she chuckled.
“You’ve thought of everything!” she exclaimed as the boat began to move down the river.
“I did, and did it during a hockey game, too. So, give me my props.”
“Props given. This is beautiful, Jax.”
The way she smiled had a nigga’s heart skipping a beat. I was just as captivated by her right now as I was when I met her.
“So, how have you been? What’s new with you?” I asked, eager to catch up.
She sighed, leaning back against the seat.
“Grinding. The show’s been getting guests left and right.”
“I know. I saw that. Congrats.”
“You’ve been watching?” She shot me a look.
“Faithfully. How else was I going to get my daily dose of you?”
“Oh, I started grief counseling and quit hooking up with randoms,” she replied, making me stare at her, displaying all thirty-two teeth.
“Damn, really?” I looked at her sideways. That was a huge step for her. I was proud.
“Yep. I figured it was time to get myself together. What about you? How have you been?”
“I’ve made some changes, too. I’ve been celibate. I mostly hang out at my parents’ place, so I guess I’ve been in therapy, too.”
We laughed lightly, and I could feel the tension between us disappear.
“She’s ready for you to go home,” Faye said.
“She told you that?”
“Uh huh.” She nodded.
“Wow. It be your own family.”
I held my hand over my heart, faking hurt, and Faye laughed. A silence settled between us as we took in the night sky.
“I’ve been thinking about you a lot, you know?” I broke the silence between us. “You know you didn’t have to return every damn flower.”
“I did. I had to let you know I was standing on business.” She rolled her neck and snapped her fingers.
“About that… the bet. I owe you an apology for that shit. I should’ve shut it down from jump. It was a stupid joke that got out of hand, and I never should’ve let it go that far.”
She was quiet for a moment, and my heart sank, wondering what she was thinking and if she could ever forgive me.
“I forgive you.”
“I never told anyone other than my parents about us. I deaded that bet shit as soon as I got back to my room. I swear?—”
“I said I forgive you, Jax.” Her words caught me off guard. “You don’t have to over-explain.”
I stared at her like she was crazy. Did I hear her right?
“I had up a tough shield, Jaxton Saint, and you broke through it with no problem. I need to know if it was all a game, you know?”
“How fast a nigga fell for you was not a game at all, Faye.” I leaned over and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. I wanted to stare into her eyes. “I want to have the chance to pursue you if you’re willing to give us another chance.”
Her gaze met mine, and the world around us faded.
“Pursue me?” she asked softly.
“Yeah. Date you… get to know you… take you out the streets.”
“Oh my God!” She squealed, bringing my attention to the fence up ahead—beautiful fairy lights hung on the trees, highlighting the beautiful arrangement of roses placed along a fence spelling out— I’m sorry. Will you be my girlfriend?
Faye’s hands were over her mouth as the boat slowly sailed by. Tears shimmered in beautiful eyes.
“What do you say, Faye Baby?” I gestured to the roses. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
“You said you wanted to pursue me. How’d we get to girlfriend?” Tears spilled down her cheeks, but there was joy in her voice.
“I do want to pursue you… while you’re my girlfriend.” I shrugged. It sounded reasonable enough to me.
“I... I… Yes.” She nodded. “I’d love to be your girlfriend while you pursue me.”
That was music to my ears. I pulled her body into mine before placing my lips on hers.
We had a long way to go, but for the first time in months, a nigga was content.
I’d gotten my girl. We kissed and got lost in our own world under the moonlight until the loud buzz of our phones stole the moment.
We both pulled away, glancing at each other in confusion. How was both of our shits going off?
“What the hell?” I muttered, reaching into my pocket for my phone.
Faye did the same. Glancing at the screen, I opened the notification and pinched the bridge of my nose.
“We made Hollywood Tea Room.”
“I see.”
She stared at her phone. Her hand was over her mouth in shock as I glanced at the clip of me ditching the game to go after Faye. I swiped on the clip, reading the caption.
@hollywoodtearoom: Bae watch! New couple alert: Professional hockey player Jaxton Saint ditched the game to get the girl…What do you think, attendees…cute or too much?
“I’m sorry.” I leaned over, trying to comfort her. “I wasn’t trying to overshadow your career... I’ll pull some strings and get it remov?—”
“Or you can slut your new girlfriend out on this boat,” she interrupted me, placing her hands on my lips.
“Well, I actually… I’d rather do that. Come ride your boyfriend’s dick,” I commanded as I pulled my already erect dick from my shorts.
“Boyfriend…” she hummed, straddling her leg across my lap. “I like the sound of that.”
I lifted her onto my dick, and a moan escaped her pretty ass lips as I filled her tight pussy with every inch of me.
“Mmm… I missed this.”
Her hips rolled in my lap, and I could feel her juices gushing around me, welcoming me home.
“I missed you, too.”
I thrust my dick into her from below, and I knew that it was going to take me all night into the morning to quench my thirst for her.
“When do you leave?”
“In the morning.” She panted between moans.
That wasn’t going to work for me.
“We need to work out a long-distance schedule.” I wiped my hand across her nipples. “I need this pussy every other day.”
“I can come here for home games.”
She rolled her hips into my lap.
“I like the way you think, girlfriend.”
I smacked her on the ass, digging deeper into her guts as the water rocked below us.
“We work around each other’s schedules, and we talk every day.”
“Uh huh!” She nodded.
I pushed my dick into her harder, tapping against her G-spot. Her eyes locked on mine, and nothing else mattered.
“Shhhit!” I grunted, gripping her ass harder.
I pushed into her with force, writing my name on that motherfucker. Her head fell back, and her cries filled the night sky. Paying the boat attendant to leave us out here alone was the best money my ass had spent.
“Tell me how good this dick feels,” I commanded.
“Ohhh! It’s good!”
“Tell me again!”
“It’s good! It’s good!” she cried, bouncing up and down in my lap.
“Tell me!”
I pounded into her harder and faster. My hand wrapped around her neck. Her walls were squeezing the fuck out my dick. She was about to cum.
“You were always going to be mine,” I said. “I’ma treat you so good, Faye Baby. I’ma be everything you deserve.”
“It’s so fucking good! Fuck!” She shook.
“Wet yo’ dick,” I commanded, lifting her slightly so she could spray her juices all over me.
When she was done, I slid her back down and pumped a few more strokes in her until I coated her insides.
“You have made me the happiest man in the world, Lafayette Porter.”
I slid her off me and pulled her into my chest.
“Don’t hurt me, Jax,” Faye whispered.
“Never,” I whispered back. “Now, let’s get out of here. I need to fuck you in my bed several times before your flight leaves.”
“Okay.”
