Chapter 2 #2
Now I was skeptical despite my previous thoughts.
I hadn’t taken her for the one-night stand type, but maybe her ass was into the shit Sosa had been talking about.
It wasn’t going to stop me from hitting, though, as long as she could show me her MyChart.
All of those thoughts were running through my mind as she tried to figure out how to put her words together.
“I guess it’s just a few things I need to know beforehand. ”
By then, we were face to face, and the slight breeze had her sweet scent reaching my nostrils every time she made the smallest movement. “Are you propositioning me, sweetheart?” I couldn’t help teasing, and her eyebrows shot up.
“I guess I am,” she said, still flip flopping between confidence and uncertainty.
Real shit, I was surprised by how intriguing it was, even though on any other woman, it might’ve been aggravating as hell.
I was already prepared to do and say whatever she needed me to, and that realization let me know just how dangerous shorty was.
In just the last few minutes alone, I’d switched up a few times, and that shit just wasn’t like me.
At thirty-three years old, and the head of my family’s business, being levelheaded and certain about decisions was an everyday occurrence.
There was rarely a time when I changed my mind or questioned some shit I’d decided on, and I was always right; thus, the reason my father felt confident letting me handle shit.
If he knew what I was on at the moment, he’d definitely have a lot to say, but that’s why I planned to keep that shit to myself.
She was definitely gorgeous enough to make my lapse in judgment understandable in my opinion.
Glowing caramel skin, alluring almond shaped eyes, and juicy, naturally plump lips that I wanted to kiss bad as hell, all blended together perfectly.
Damn, I sounded thirsty as fuck. Shaking that thought, I stroked my chin thoughtfully. “What you need to know?”
“Are you married? Engaged? In any type of relationship?” She shot off each question with a tick of each finger.
I resisted the urge to laugh, considering how serious she was, opting to smirk as I answered truthfully. “No, no, and no. I’m single as a hundred-dollar bill.”
She twisted her lips at my cockiness but continued her interrogation.
“You’re not a killer, sex trafficker, or one of those weirdos who likes to kidnap people, are you?
” Despite how ridiculous the notion was to ask me that outright, like a true criminal would ever admit to any of that shit, she once again had me amused.
I wasn’t into sex trafficking. In fact, that shit was never the type of get rich scheme I’d fuck with, but the kidnapping and murder shit was just part of the game.
I wasn’t about to tell her that shit, but I also didn’t want to lie.
“Come on, shorty. If you thought I was capable of any of that shit, you wouldn’t have come with me all the way out here, away from everybody.”
“True, but you still didn’t answer the question.
” She shifted, folding her arms tightly.
Just as quickly as I said I wasn’t going to lie, I’d switched up again.
Instead of telling her that no, I wasn’t a sex trafficker, but I had killed, and or kidnapped some niggas, I denied that shit like an award-winning actor.
“No, I’m not any of that shit. I own multiple businesses, and I know that doesn’t automatically mean shit, but I promise I don’t have no intention of hurting you in any way.
If you need me to, I’ll give you my license.
” I was already reaching for my wallet, but she stopped me with a soft hand on my arm.
“Full names and addresses defeat the purpose of a one-night stand. Besides, I actually believe you. I don’t know why I believe you, but I do.
” She scoffed. “Anyway, do you have MyChart? I might be willing to overlook the other shit, but I don’t play about my health.
” She looked up at me, blinking slowly, so I knew she was serious, and my dick stirred.
Her bossing up was sexy as hell, especially when it came to her being cautious with her body, and that shit only had me wanting her more.
“I got you, baby.” My fingers were already moving across my phone’s screen as I pulled up my information for her.
Following my lead, she did the same and handed off her phone to me.
It didn’t take either of us long to confirm the other’s health.
Once she was satisfied, she gave my shit right back while I went further, skimming through her personal information.
I had a damn good memory, and I automatically locked in her address and phone number, adding them into my contacts as I handed her phone back with a smirk. “We good?”
The question had her studying me with her head tilted.
“You don’t have any questions for me? I could be a married serial killer.
” She sounded almost disappointed that I hadn’t had a certain level of suspicion when it came to her, but I wasn’t worried about her murdering me, and I damn sure wasn’t concerned about a possible husband. I still decided to humor her, though.
“Well, are you?” I asked, finally slipping my arms around her waist and pulling her to me. I’d been itching to touch her since we’d laid eyes on each other, and she definitely felt even better than I’d expected.
“Nooo,” she whined, head falling back with parted lips like she was offering them up to me.
“Good. Now that that’s out the way, can I have you, Essence?” I bit back a smirk as she shuddered.
“Any way you want to, Valentino.” The sound of my name rolling off her tongue had me vowing to have her screaming my shit all night as I finally kissed her.
