Maggie
Waking up in Derek’s bed, the first thing I feel is shock. Then this delicious ache all over my body.
Then all I feel is bliss with one of his arms wrapped around me, his hand cupping my breast. The other arm underneath the pillow we share as his deep, sleepy breaths blow strands of hair across my face.
Who knew this man was a cuddler?
It’s uncharted waters here for me. Sleeping with a guy and waking up next to him…I’m not so sure how to feel. But my body is humming with pleasure and I know I don’t want to move. I don’t want this to end even though the sun is already rising, a peek of light piercing the windows.
No one has ever touched me like this or even looked at me with such affection. Derek makes me feel desired, a way a man has never made me feel and something I’m quickly becoming addicted to.
But I can’t, I reminded myself. This is temporary whether I want it to be or not.
Behind me, Derek groans as he wakes in the morning light and presses a kiss to my cheek. “How are you feeling, sweetheart? I can practically hear the gears grinding in your head.”
I cringe at the fact he can tell. But I’m still smiling through his grumpy tone. Part of me is tempted to lie about what’s burning in mind but I opt for honesty instead. “Trying to figure out if I should sneak out before you wake up or wait for you to kick me out.”
He stays silent for a moment, a moment too long, and then tightens his hold on my middle as he presses a gentle kiss to my neck. “Neither. Stay right here where I can have my way with you again and again.”
Last night was nothing but that. We couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves to where I lost track of the orgasms, lost track of the world. Only thing I could focus on was Derek and wanting to explore us. “I can still feel you inside of me,” I tell him in another moment of brutal honesty.
He lets out a tortured groan as his hips jut forward so I can feel that he’s already hard. Just for me. “Good.” His voice is low and deep, full of sensual longing as he turns me on my back, draping his chest over mine. “Because I can still feel your pussy, wet and quivering around my cock.”
I shiver at his filthy words but my body comes to life by the way his lips indulge in me, starting with my collarbone and working his way down until his breath finally hits my pussy. “Derek!”
“Can you feel this?” His low voice teases me until his tongue toys with my clit. It’s sinfully delicious. It’s wickedly naughty and an orgasm rushes in like no other.
“Oh my god, yes!” His tongue is magical, stirring up a sensation greater than any I’ve experienced. I’m in trouble. And not because of what he’s doing to me, but because of what his soft kisses and gentle touches are doing my heart.
By the time our shared shower is over, I’m scared for where this could go and as I escape to the room I chose for the weekend, I can hardly breathe when I call Sara in a mild freakout.
“Hey girl, how’s it working for Grumpy McHottie?” she laughs at her own joke and I can’t help but smile at her nonsense.
“Ugh, I miss you.”
“Yeah, yeah, I miss you too. Now what’s up? I know there’s something.”
“What’s up…” I huff, repeating her words. “Is that I spent the night with Derek and I’m pretty sure that I’m falling for the guy. Talk some sense into me.” A chill rushes over my skin and I put the phone on speaker, drying off so I can put some clothes on.
“And how’s this a problem?”
“Because he’s older and more mature, let alone incredibly rich. And I’m sure the man is used to women prettier and way more sophisticated than I am.”
“Older and richer isn’t a bad thing, Mags.”
“Yeah, I know.” I roll my eyes. “It’s great and all, but underneath the gruff and the bad attitude, he’s actually pretty awesome. He’s funny at times and sweet, and he has this smile that makes my heart melt. It feels as if it’s meant just for me.”
“And I’m still not hearing a problem.” Her skepticism is clear.
“Sara, seriously? I told him I wasn’t expecting forever.” And I’m not.
But I want it. Badly.
“What?” Her voice screeches. “Why would you do something dumb like that?”
“Um, to avoid the inevitable rejection I know is coming? I can’t afford to lose my job because I spill my feelings to my boss and weird him out.”
It’s like I can hear Sara shaking her head through the phone. “You know how ridiculous you are? You know I love you like a sister but seriously, what the fuck? You’re the hottest girl to ever enter his life and not only that, you’re generous and fun! If he’s too dumb to recognize that, he’s the one missing out and I’m happy to tell him so.”
“No!” I shout. “Don’t do dare. I love you for saying that but I can handle this. I’m at least grateful for last night, it was even better than I could’ve imagined.” My cheeks heat up at the memory. “You’re the best.”
“Yes I am. But so are you, Maggie. Don’t forget that. Go for this, for him. It could be really amazing.”
“Or I could embarrass myself.” Which is more likely.
“Ugh,” she groans. “Aunt Sabrina is howling, I mean calling for me. Gotta go, babes. Good luck!”
I take a deep breath and close my eyes because as much as I hate to admit it, she always seems to be right.
