ADRIAN

T he house is quiet, Jesse’s naked body draped over me as he sleeps, the moonlight casting shadows onto the walls.

And I’ve never been so at peace.

It’s this house and him and a million promises we made while we made love, while he cried out my name.

“You’re supposed to be sleeping,” he murmurs, snuggling closer in a way that is both endearing and makes me keenly aware of how hot he runs.

“I was just thinking how much I like it here.”

“That’s good because my bed is way better than yours.”

“Why?”

“It’s bigger.”

“Why does that matter? You’re still on top of me,” I tease, running my fingers through his hair.

“You like it. And we had plenty of room for all the ways you wanted to fuck me earlier.”

“Even half asleep you still have a mouth on you.”

“You like that too.”

“What’s your family gonna say about us?”

“Probably we told you so.” He huffs, leaning up to look at me, a shy smile on his face. “My mom will be asking when we’re adopting a couple of dogs.”

“Dogs?”

“It’s the next phase of her plan. Dogs then kids and I’m definitely not ready for kids. I’m selfish and I’m going to need you all to myself for a while.”

“Is that right?”

“Definitely. There’s no way you could do half the stuff you did to me tonight if we had kids.”

“You are pretty loud.”

“Yeah, well, I’m only like that with you.” The admission has him blushing, his cheeks darkening in the low light.

“Of all the things, that’s what has you blushing?”

Dropping his face into the crook of my neck, he groans, the stubble on his jaw sending a little zing of electricity through me.

“It’s too good. I can’t help it.”

“I love hearing how I make you feel.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, right now, you’re making me hard again,” he whispers, his teeth nipping the skin down the column of my throat, “and I love being in love with you.”

Kissing his way across my jaw, he doesn’t stop until his lips land on mine, his movements unhurried as he tastes me.

Savors me.

“I love you,” I murmur, my breath hitching when his lips curve up into a smile.

“I can’t believe I almost missed out on this.”

“I’m glad you didn’t.”

“We had all this time but I didn’t need it.”

“Didn’t need it for what?”

“To fall for you.”

“No?”

“No, I think I only ever needed one night.”
