Chapter Fifty-Nine
Saoirse
“That sounds incredible. I can’t believe it’s us,” I breathed as Dusty played back what we had recorded in his studio today.
Given I agreed to record my song with him, we’d gone in mostly to play around so I could get comfortable. I’d even brought my bodhrán.
I hadn’t expected it to sound like this.
“You sound amazing. I don’t think you understand, if this is something you want to do, you can do this,” he encouraged.
“You can make music with me. You could make music for yourself. There are guest offers coming in for you from all sorts of musicians, thanks to us performing on stage with Vixen Underground. I have the perfect project you can do with Remington Skylark.”
She was an up-and-coming musician. The song of hers that he’d played for me was haunting.
“I want to record with Ava.” Though I’d consider whoever he recommended.
“Great. You’ll have so many options. My agent’s been fielding all of the requests, saying that we were taking a couple weeks break.
You could do as much or as little recording as you want, you never have to perform live if you don’t want.
Nobody really knows your name. We can come up with a stage persona. ”
“I like the idea of recording. Though I’m not sure about being onstage, other than maybe Feral Ratville.
But even just making music seemed a bit vain.
That’s what I’ve always been told. If my sister wanted to put on a show, she was a delightful free-spirit.
If I wanted to sing or show something I’d learned on my bodhrán, I was attention-seeking,” I admitted softly.
“That is bullshit and I’m starting to work on the song. I’m absolutely going to eviscerate them. I think I want to debut it at Feral Ratville. What do you think?” he asked.
“As long as I get to hear it beforehand, and there are no mentions of sassy assassin or a-sassy-in,” I replied. “Should you perform it before or after we marry onstage?”
“You don’t have to marry me onstage,” he replied.
“What if I want to, I mean, we should probably marry before the baby comes?” I’d been thinking about it a lot. Rescuing Hale made me realize that I wanted this baby.
His face brightened and happiness invaded the bond. “Really?”
“I’d like to have this baby. Fiona knows. She thinks that we should all go to Ireland for Christmas, so I can taunt my sister and ex with my pack and baby,” I replied. My cousins, brother, and grandfathers would be all for that.
“Do they have kids?” he asked.
“Two, and the odd times I actually do go home, they make comments about me being bitter, mateless, and childless.” I rolled my eyes.
“We absolutely should do that. I will support that pettiness.”
“Fiona thinks I need to unleash you, Hale, and Carlos, and your shenanigans on my village,” I added.
He sucked in a breath. “Oh, I could come up with so many shenanigans.”
“I’m sure you could.” Yes, I liked the idea of taking them back to Ireland to meet everyone that mattered and spite everyone who didn’t.
No, I wasn’t a petty bitch at all.
“Are you certain you want to keep the baby? I just want to make sure you’re doing this for you and not for anyone else. Not for me, not for Fiona, not for the puppy who really needs a friend, and not to piss off any of your family. Though I feel like that is a valid reason to have a baby,” he said.
I smacked him. “That is not a valid reason to have a baby. That’s up there with wanting to have a child because you’d make a cute one.”
“You know we’re gonna have like twelve of those right?” He laughed.
“We’ll need to sell a lot of music.” I nodded.
“I want to keep this baby. But I’m not going to leave being an assassin behind.
Though I’d like to take a little time to see what life is like just living, perhaps discover who I am when I’m not Saoirse the trigger woman,” I admitted.
“I’ve never had much opportunity. I used to be scared of her, but in the time I’ve spent with you, I realize I’d really like to know who she is. ”
My position within the Company gave me the freedom to do that. My reputation gave me the freedom to leave without making myself a target. Though I had no desire to leave the Company at this time. I just wouldn’t push to get back on the active duty rosters.
Dusty leaned in and kissed me. “Oh, I know who she is, and she’s amazing.” His eyes danced. “Should I show her how incredible she is?” Desire filled his scent.
“I think I’d like that.”
He picked me up a little awkwardly, but I allowed it. We left the studio, crossed his sitting room, and went into his bedroom. Closing the door behind him, he placed me gently on the bed.
“I don’t know if tossing you on the bed is okay with the baby,” he said.
“I think the baby is just fine,” I replied. His worry was a bit delightful.
He pulled up my shirt. His lips brushed my belly button. “Hey, Baby Lovely. I’m your daddy and I’m so excited to meet you. Your mommy is so amazing and fierce and smart, and tough. And you have another mom, two more dads, and a puppy. I love Ispín. He’s so cute.”
“Our puppy needs obedience training, but yes.” I suppose I could take some of that in hand given I was taking time off from work.
“We have a house, no yard but a house, and we got a dog. Now there’s a baby on the way. All we need is a boat. Not that I need a boat. But I’d ride off into the sunset with you.” Dusty kissed me.
What? Then I remembered what I’d said to him our first day in Switzerland about people like us not getting all of that.
Dusty pulled off my shirt. He came behind me and ran kisses down my neck and back. I felt his teeth brush my spine as my bra came unclasped.
“Did you just unhook my bra with your teeth? That’s so silly.” I shook my head as I fully removed it.
“Why is that silly? I just want to eat all of you.” He finished undressing me. His eyes met mine. “That’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’m probably not as good at it as Fiona, but I’m going to devour you.”
“You do know what you’re doing with your tongue,” I admitted as he undressed me. “Not quite as much as you do with your dick, but I don’t have much to complain about.”
Dusty opened my legs and buried his head in my pussy, his tongue and fingers getting all the right places. But he always did, which was one of the reasons why I continued to hook up with him.
Now we were starting a pack, having a child.
He got another good spot.
“I love all your cute noises,” he murmured as he caressed my clit with his tongue.
I gazed down at him. “I do not make cute noises.”
“You do for me.” He went back to work, bringing me closer to my peak, his fingers and tongue getting into a maddening rhythm.
My body exploded, back arching.
“Oh, I just love making you come,” he murmured. He kissed my belly button again and then ran his fingers along my cheek. “You really are Mo Shíorghra, you know that right?
“Yes, Mo Ghrá, that’s why I haven’t pushed you off the building yet.” I looked up into his big brown eyes and smiled, his glasses slipping, slightly foggy.
He crawled forward on the bed and kissed me deeply. His balsam scent surrounded me with his own desire and a hint of something else.
“Dusty, did you cum in your jeans?” I looked at his crotch.
“Making you come, makes me cum,” he replied.
“That does not sound romantic.”
“I can be romantic.” He sat back on his heels.
“You are Mi Cielo, my sky that fell from the heavens, and slapped me, altering my world permanently, making me realize that the emptiness my alpha heart felt was not because it lacked an omega, but because it lacked a partner. You fill the fissures in my soul, and when you went after our missing packmate last night, with your big-ass gun, talk about wanting to cum in my pants. I could never doubt that you care for me as much as I care for you, even if you don’t show it the same way,” he confessed and then he gave me an expectant look as if to say, is that good enough?
Shite. I wanted to come from his words, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. Instead, I grabbed him by the shirt, pulling him to me, and kissed him. Then I pushed him with the flat of my hand to the bed, and got on top of him, pinning him, my nose to his.
“That was lovely, Dusty. I do appreciate the effort, but I think that perhaps we should take these clothes off.” I pulled off his damp jeans and briefs, his cock already mostly erect.
Alphas always seemed ready to fuck unless they needed a nap.
Pulling his shirt off, I kissed his chest. “You can make pancakes on these abs. Have you ever made pancakes on these abs?”
He sucked in a breath. “If I could figure it out, that would be amazing.”
My kisses went lower and lower, as my hands found his balls. I started to play with them as I took him in my mouth–something I very rarely did with a man.
But he was different. He was mine.
He groaned as I went up and down on him. But he wasn’t about to cum in my mouth right now, he would cum in me.
“Patience.” Straddling him, one hand still grasping his cock, I lowered myself down to his throbbing shaft.
He filled all the right places, hit all the right spots. Entwining my fingers with his, I leaned forward to capture his lips as I began to ride him.
“I like this.” He nodded. “Though you can have me any way you want–forward, backwards, upside down, tied up, inside, outside.”
Not sure about outside. I didn’t have Fiona’s penchant for exhibitionism. “Tying you up has possibilities."
A shiver of delight went through the bond. “I’m yours. I’m here to take care of you however you need.”
“I know.” My lips sucked on his neck where I bonded him. It didn’t leave the same sort of a silvery bite mark that he had left on my body, but if you looked closely, you could tell the mark was there. I lavished it with attention as one hand played with his nipple.
“If you keep doing that, I’m going to cum,” he gasped.
“As long as it’s inside me,” I replied, not stopping what I was doing. I was pretty close myself, as one of his hands reached down to caress my clit.
I gasped as another orgasm seared me. He shuddered as he came inside me. For a moment, I laid on top of him, resting my head on his chest. His hand stroked my hair.
“I like that.” He kissed the top of my head.
“Me too.” I slid him out of me and pulled the blanket over us, snuggling into him.
“When do you want to tell the pack?” he asked. “I’m guessing you’ll want to wait until it becomes obvious for everyone else. But we should let the pack know sooner rather than later. Especially with all of Fiona’s plans.”
“I have a doctor's appointment in little bit, just to confirm everything, and then yes, we should probably tell them.” Since I had health insurance, I should take advantage of it.
“That sounds good to me. Can I come with you?” he asked.
“Yes.” I never thought I would want that, but, yes, I did. I
I came downstairs in one of my usual suits and heels. We were going to a nice restaurant with a dress code that Fiona’s fathers had chosen.
Fiona wore a stunning blue dress, and she was straightening Carlos’ blue tie.
She looked at her phone. “Where’s Hale?”
Carlos opened this phone. “I think he’s almost here.”
The door flew open and Hale came in wearing his usual jeans, band T-shirt, cowboy hat, and cowboy boots. He also had a covered dish, a rock, and a unicycle.
“I know I need to change, but everything with Grace went fantastic,” he said, excitement radiating off of him as he pulled his boots off.
“She got her samples. I’ll be getting a payment soon, which will be an absolute, huge relief.
Oh, hi Ispín.” He realized that our sweet little puppy was sleeping on the couch.
That was the name that seemed to be sticking.
“We need a puppy enclosure.” I sighed. He’d made a mess while we’d been gone, even with Fiona home. “Why do you have a unicycle?”
“Oh, I won it.” He shrugged.
What?
“Oh, that’s what you were doing on the livestream,” Fiona stated as if it explained everything.
“My sister made me wonder salad. It’s my favorite.” He held up the container.
“I don’t know what that is.” Carlos shook his head.
Fiona thought for a moment. “Like a power salad?”
“It’s not actually a salad, it’s a dessert. It’s whipped cream, pudding, seven different kinds of chocolate candy, pretzels, and cookies all mixed together,” he explained.
“That sounds… sweet,” I replied. Just the texture of that sounded revolting to me.
“I can’t wait to try it.” Fiona kissed him.
“It’s so good. I’ll put it in the fridge.” Grabbing it, he ran to the kitchen. When he returned, he put the rock on the table. “It looks like spaghetti.”
“I love you, but you need to put some clothes on,” she said.
“I’ll be right back,” Carlos added, following Hale up the stairs.
“Does Ispín have food and water?” I asked Dusty.
“I’ll check.” Dusty left.
I pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around Fiona. “Mo Stóirín.”
“Hi, Love.” She gazed up into my eyes, making love swell in my heart.
As much as I was growing to love Dusty, she was still my everything.
“Stay with me tonight?” I leaned in and kissed her deep.
Her eyes sparkled with mischief. “Will you pick me up and throw me over your shoulder? I just love that.”
“Anything for you.” I kissed her again.
“Everything went okay today?” she added softly.
“Yes, I wanted to tell everyone before we left, but given the time, we’ll have to do it in the car.” I checked the time.
My doctor's appointment had gone quite well. I’d gotten the vitamin shot, and the doctor assured me that everything should be fine.
I added, “I’m a little worried about Hale. Bringing a baby into the pack is a big thing.”
“It’s fine, Love. We can afford a baby. We have space for a baby. Hale doesn’t have to help if he’s overwhelmed. There are other adults in the pack. I am so excited,” she replied. “I don’t know if I’ve told you lately how much I love you.” She sent love through the bond.
“You told me this morning when you were sitting on my face.” I rested my head on hers. Home was where Fiona was–and she’d brought me to a place I never knew I needed to be.
Here.
“We’re going to have a baby.” Her eyes danced with excitement.
Love flowed through our bond as I pulled her closer. “Yes, yes we are.”
