Chapter Eight #4

She nodded. “On my way. I have my phone on in case of emergency, but Serin has the hang of things.”

Deno nodded. “I am amazed that I can feel this happy and not explode.”

Calypso patted his arm and nodded to Harper and Piper. “Back in a minute.”

She grinned as she walked down the path to the main space, the shops quiet at five in the morning.

The hotel was showing signs of life, and she walked inside and found the kitchens.

Calypso spoke calmly. “Is there any way I can beg some half and half for the bed and breakfast? Serin is back on coffee, and she’s going to hit it hard. ”

The staff froze, looked at her, and then grinned. A minute later, she had a gallon in a string net and was heading back to the B and B.

The first ferry was loading and unloading cargo. There were a few keen tourists slowly walking toward the town, and two were very familiar.

The smaller of the two ran at her, screaming, “Harper.”

The omega charged up to her, and her look stopped him in his tracks. “Hello, Skyler.”

His alpha ran behind him with their bags, and he froze. “Calliope.”

“Yes, Devin. So, what brings you two to Wonder?”

Skyler blinked. Devin grunted, “We are here to bring Harper home. She belongs with us.”

Calypso laughed. “That won’t go over well.”

Skyler looked at her with his earnest expression. “Can you take us to her?”

Calypso debated on how evil she was feeling that morning and smirked. Evil it would be.

“Come with me. She’s this way. Oh, and just because I am being polite, Devin, doesn’t mean I have forgotten what you did.

” Calypso started to stride toward the bed and breakfast, knowing what was waiting.

She swung the bag with the gallon of milk and smirked.

This was going to be highly entertaining.

She hummed and could feel the two idiots stumbling along behind her. They didn’t try to speak to her. Smart. The scars didn’t hurt as much anymore, but the memories remained.

She cruised into the common space, the open area, and grinned. She glanced at Harper, “You may want to start making out with one of your beaus.”

Harper blinked and kissed the darker of the two men. Hands wrapped around her waist and thigh, and the other pressed his lips to her neck and sandwiched her against the guy kissing her. Those elves didn’t miss an opportunity.

Piper’s guys looked over, shrugged, and did the same with her, right as Devin and Skyler came into view.

Calypso was watching Deno pour the cream into dispensers with a steady hand and put the rest into the fridge.

The scream from Skyler and the shout from Devin made her smile. Calypso poured another cup of coffee and settled back to watch the fireworks.

Devin rushed to Piper and pulled on her, but Temal turned and gnashed his jaws while a dazed Piper looked at him. “Fuck off and die, Devin.”

He jerked back. “Piper!”

Piper snapped her teeth at him and returned to Yeskin. Their scents were heavy and obviously intimate. It was quite the cloud.

Skyler reached for Harper by process of elimination, and the eagle turned and screamed at him. He jerked back, and Devin rushed to his side.

Calypso ate some ham and murmured to Deno, “This is why I don’t watch soap operas anymore.”

He was laughing silently. “I will make sure they get their asses right back on the next ferry.”

Harper, with swollen lips and flushed cheeks, looked at her brother. “What do you want, Skyler? I didn’t interrupt you and Devin when you were in this situation. Of course, I have two very large alphas with very busy hands, so it’s harder to get them to let go.”

Harper laughed. “They are very warm, though.”

Her guys chuckled, and the eagle said, “It keeps you close.”

She snickered. “Devin, Skyler, I don’t want any part of you. I never want to see either of you naked again, definitely not together. All I see when I look at you two is a tabloid article and a nasty infection.”

Skyler frowned. “But we want you in our pack.”

“Tough. Your wants don’t win the day. I am a person with a career, hopes, dreams, and a need for a much bigger bed. You and that tool don’t factor into anything. I am not planning for you in my life. I am going to have enough math to do with feathers and scales.”

The elves laughed and glared at the omega and stunned alpha. The two staggered back. Deno walked up to them and clapped them on the shoulders. “Gentlemen. Do you have the point, or do you want to do combat for her hand? I can guarantee you will not win.”

The subdued men looked around at the beta and alpha combinations who had made it down for breakfast, as well as the new mother with the tiny infant who was laughing at them.

Calypso walked over to Serin and helped her ease into a comfortable seat. She started filling a plate for her while Devin and Skyler were escorted back to the dock, where the morning ferry was waiting for cargo and two unexpected passengers.

Calypso looked at the packs, dens, and sundries who were waking and having breakfast, all cuddled together. Mia, Meeda, and Akervel were arriving to plan the shoots for the day. She grinned. She was going to be busy.
