Chapter Seven

Above Enchanted Jewels

Same Time

Friday Night

When she ran at him, Josh had just enough time to catch Genesis, as she landed against him. He braced for impact as her legs went around his hips, nearly taking him to the floor in a pile of limbs.

But he didn’t drop her.

Hell, no.

He caught her because he always would.

In his world, when you loved someone, you were there for the good, the bad, and the terrible.

This might be a dark moment for them, but he suspected the world would only get better.

Why?

Because they had each other.

And that mattered.

What they both wanted in life was to find that connection to someone who would always have their back. Genesis wasn’t the only one who’d been damaged by loss.

He had too.

Now, it was time to find their way through all of this.

When he found her mouth, the kiss exploded around them, and there was no place he’d rather be.

Was this all weird?

Yes.

Only, he lived in Salem and was friends with a bunch of psychics.

Weird was his daily thing, so nothing Genesis could throw at him would make him run.

He was in love for the first time in his life, and he wanted her to know that he’d always be in love.

As he kissed her, Genesis held on. The static crackled around them, and she was cognizant of it.

She was slipping into the sound, and the man with her was falling too.

They were crossing a threshold and taking a trip to a place she’d never been before.

You will be fine. Just enjoy the moment. We’ll talk tomorrow. I’ll keep you safe while you make this moment. It’s important that you two are one for what’s to come.

She could hear it as clear as day in her voice.

Oracle?

There was soft, melodious laughter, and even Josh heard it. That sound pulled his focus, and while he was kissing his woman, he was also cognizant that they didn’t feel alone.

Yes. Enjoy this moment. I remember when Nate and I shared something similar. You’re safe here in Raven’s charmed apartment. I’ll see you tomorrow.

And just like she had popped into her head, she was gone. But the moment wasn’t stopping there. Genesis needed this man, and she could feel his lust battering into her.

It appeared they were going to make some pretty magickal memories above that enchanted shop.

They were about to become one.

Whatever that meant.

Instead of stopping the kiss, she poured more of herself into it, her hands in his hair, and his body locked to hers.

“Bed,” she whispered. “I need you, Joshua.”

Oh, well, sign him up.

That was one hell of a way to have an argument, and he was up for it.

Literally.

He was so hard, and his body was screaming for hers. If he didn’t have her, Josh believed he’d die.

Somehow, he managed to grab the ring, one he’d bought downstairs for her, and get them to the bedroom. What he wanted was to make love with her in their bed.

When he got them there, he placed her on her feet.

Breaking the kiss, he stared into her eyes, making another promise to her because she deserved it.

And always would.

“I will always protect you, Gennie. I won’t let anyone hurt you or take you away from me. I promise.”

His words mattered so much.

Because she needed them.

The world was becoming confusing, and she wanted a way to stay grounded.

That was him.

“I need you, Joshua,” she admitted. “I need someone to help me fight whatever is coming.”

Oh, well, sign him up.

Why the hell not?

It was worth the reward.

HER.

“Then, let’s do this together, Gennie. Let’s make this the best ride of our lives and make those memories. I want to make them with you. Only you.”

She was staring into his eyes, and she could see he meant every single word.

Thank.

Freaking.

God.

As she touched his face, he turned his head to leave a kiss on the inside of her palm, showing her that he wanted the bumpy and the tender.

The wild, and the calm.

He wanted everything.

From here on out.

While she might feel alone out in the world, the truth would be that she would take his heart with her no matter where she went.

That was his vow.

His promise.

There was nothing he wanted more than the absolute honor and pleasure of calling her his wife.

She said one word, and he understood.

“YES.”

That was when he began pulling off his things, and she did the same thing.

There was a desperation there, one that couldn’t be calmed down. There was something pulling at them and pushing them together.

It was wild.

Frenetic.

It was desperation.

Josh needed his woman.

He wanted one thing from her, and one thing alone.

“Be my wife,” he whispered as that need for her took over. The words echoed between them, as the cool calm wrapped around them, like it was protection from what was hunting her.

Nothing was getting in.

They.

Were.

Safe.

As long as they stuck together, nothing could hurt them.

When they were both naked, he scooped her up landed with her on the bed.

They bounced, and there was laughter and love all around them.

The room contained that energy, and it sent licks of pleasure across their bodies.

It felt like…a spell.

It is. Bind yourselves together.

Genesis didn’t know what that meant, but it didn’t sound unpleasant. The calm in Oracle’s voice soothed her.

“I don’t want to be me without you,” she whispered as he stared down at her.

That made his heart skip.

Knowing she wanted and loved him was the fuel he needed to dig in and do battle for her.

ALWAYS.

“I’ll always be here for you. That’s my promise, Genesis. I swear on my whole life that I will never leave your side until we’re old and die hours apart.”

And she wanted that.

More than anything.

“Love me,” she whispered.

Oh, he did.

The scent of wife-to-be, if she was planning to marry him, overwhelmed him, and all Josh wanted was to lock them together with a lock that could never be undone.

So do it. Make the vow, say the words, and get the girl.

He didn’t know what that meant, but he absolutely would. As he left kisses across her flesh, the whole time, Josh was focused on one thing.

The intent.

He said words he never thought he’d say in his head, words he had no clue what they were, or what they’d do.

But he said them anyway.

‘Forever tie us together and make sure that nothing has the power to pull us apart. Make us one, no matter where this journey takes us.’

They both felt the energy, but neither knew where it came from. It exploded out, filling both of their bodies with lust, love, and intent.

It was time.

This was their moment, and in it, there was the promise of making their worlds one.

It called to him.

For him, this was so important. Genesis’s naked body pressed to his made it hard to think.

There was nothing he loved more than just being able to be with her. This precious gift had captured his heart so quickly, but so completely.

Without her, there would be no him.

When his fingers wandered, she moaned.

It was that sound of pleasure that made Josh absolutely insane. It also made him crave one thing.

Her body.

“Gennie,” he whispered, that whiskey warm sound of his voice sending goosebumps down her flesh.

His touch was beyond erotic.

It was necessary to survive.

Together, they explored, letting their hands wander, and mouths tease flesh until the torment was almost too much to bear.

When she found his erection with her fingers, Genesis wrapped her fingers around the thickness of it.

Her touch did one thing.

It made his heart skip in his chest, as he craved even more from her.

There was no doubt he’d love her forever.

How could she think he’d walk away and leave this? He’d found perfection, and he wanted to keep it.

As.

His.

Own.

No other woman had ever managed to find a place in his heart, and none other would.

Only her.

“More,” he whispered, needing her touch to survive.

Oh, well, ask and he was going to receive.

And then some.

As Genesis continued to stroke his erection, Josh fought that overwhelming need to take her. His body was wracked with pleasure, and he craved taking what was his.

And only his.

In that moment, they stayed skin-to-skin and soul-to-soul, as a promise of how it would always be.

There was no better feeling in the world than to finally know they found what they’d never had before.

LOVE.

This was so valuable.

“I love you,” he said. “I’ll love you until the day I die, Gennie. I promise.”

Yeah, she believed him.

Why?

Because he wanted to stay and fight. He wanted them to build, not run. Josh would always have her.

She could bet on him.

As his mouth moved down her body, touching, tasting, and enjoying her body, Genesis moaned in pleasure.

Nothing felt as good as this man’s mouth.

NOTHING.

“Josh,” she whispered.

His name on her lips was so sweet, and it made Josh want to weep with gratitude that the universe had dropped him into the chaos that was the Littlemoons.

The love he felt for her was so overwhelming that it almost made this all seem like it wasn’t real.

A dream.

There.

Was.

Joy.

She whimpered in pleasure as his mouth drove her absolutely wild. Josh knew where to touch her, and in the process, he was sending licks of electricity across her body as he traveled lower.

She was lost in that pleasure and never wanted to resurface again.

Holy shit!

Love was amazing.

As he left open-mouthed kisses on her flesh, they went from gentle to desperate, making everything around her feel like it was on fire.

She never wanted it to stop.

Ever.

Josh was driving the pleasure bus, and Genesis never wanted to get off of it.

As his body was above hers, Genesis admired him. This man was all hers.

Yeah, she was damn lucky, too.

The way he felt under her fingers was a little too much to take, so she opted to enjoy all of him.

Oh, and to share what she felt for him.

Rolling, she got him flat on his back, his rock-hard dick trapped against her body.

He moaned.

“Oh, no, pretty lady. Don’t have your wicked way with me,” he joked. “However will I live it down that some sexy lady took advantage of me?”

She grinned at him.

Oh, well, this lady wanted to take advantage of him on a daily basis.

For the rest of their lives.

Say the words, and make him yours. You have them in your mind. Make it count.
