Chapter Seven #3
“Josh,” she whispered, as he stared down into her eyes.
He gave her his heart.
“My only,” he promised, as they both teetered on the edge. The feelings of love, lust, and desire were just too much for them to handle.
They fell.
Together.
Oh, and as that orgasm exploded, and he poured into her, they became one above that witch’s shop.
Or in her mind.
Wherever the hell they were.
There was no doubt in either of their minds that it was meant to be.
As he collapsed over her body, his protecting hers, they rode out that storm brewing outside the ice castle walls.
So, this was love.
So, this was love with a psychic.
Josh wasn’t even phased.
As they lay there, spent, it was crystal clear that what happened was not on this plane because the room began flickering, and when he blinked, they were back in her bed.
Yeah…
They’d NEVER experienced sex like that.
Ever.
“Holy shit,” he muttered. “I think I like witchcraft. That was one hell of an orgasm. I know I love psychics, because that was…an adventure.”
That made her laugh.
“I was just thinking the same. That was pretty spectacular, Mr. Coffee.”
Yes, yes, it was.
“Did we…flicker from here to somewhere else?” he asked. “Because where did the ice cavern come from?”
She had no clue.
One minute, they were in her bed, and the next, they were in some place else.
In her mind.
It had to be there.
“Avalon?” she asked. “Can you hear me? Can you explain more to us, please?”
At first, she expected him to mock her, but he didn’t. Josh just rolled off of her body and tucked her into his side.
Then, they both heard it.
There was laughter, and then something in her mind. In fact, Josh heard it too. When he was touching her, he could hear Avalon.
This is part of your gift. You had sex on a different plane, as you had sex in your bed.
You went into the static, and Josh tuned it for you.
Like with us, Lucian and myself, we each have a place in our minds that keep us safe.
Yours was the icy caverns of that hall you created.
Mine is a field of snow and flowers. Lucian has a stone castle bedroom. That’s your mind.
This was all…crazy.
Avalon continued explaining.
We do our channeling in those safe spaces. We talk to the dead there. We find the lost. Over time, I’ll show you how to go further than that space.
She was curious.
Why have I never experienced this before?
Avalon shared.
I had this blocked to protect you. Your mother and father never learned how to use their gifts.
They ran to avoid it, but you can’t run from who you are meant to be.
Ultimately, it drove them both to madness.
Lucian learned how to use the space, and you will too.
You won’t have to do it alone because Josh is also able to go there. Like with Nate and Ridge.
That was something.
What?
She wasn’t sure.
And we can go there whenever?
Avalon’s laughter coated their bodies, drawing goosebumps to their flesh.
Yes, you can go there whenever you want. Outside of that room is dangerous now, but one day, when we handle this, you’ll be able to use your gifts to find the lost in the static. I help them, and one day, you will too.
That didn’t sound too bad.
It’s what you were meant to do. Like with Lucian’s parents, both being psychic, and mine, you inherited this gift. You and Josh will learn. I promise. Have a good night. See you tomorrow.
Then, she was gone.
“Did you hear that?” she asked.
He nodded.
“I did.”
She didn’t know what to think, but she knew one thing. If this man was going to be her ride or die, she wanted to lock that down, and fast.
Before this got weirder.
“Did you mean what you said? Do you want to get married tomorrow?”
Josh reached into the pile of clothing debris laying all over the floor and retrieved the ring.
Then, to prove he did, he sat up and faced her. Without missing a single beat, he went there.
“Will you marry me, Genesis? So that we can have a life together?”
It hit her hard.
Tears filled her eyes again.
Sitting up, she nodded.
“Yes, Josh. I want to be your only.”
That made him smile.
Popping open the ring box, the icy blue stone glittered in the setting, and it reminded her of…ice.
Like the place they’d just spent making love.
“How did you know?” she asked.
He laughed.
“It called to me when I went to look at rings. I was led to it. I’m guessing that wasn’t a coincidence.”
Oh, probably not.
The Ice Queen now had her Prince Charming.
Gently, he picked up her hand and took the ring from the box to slip it onto her finger.
“Tomorrow, we’ll elope. I’ll call a judge, and we’ll do it before we have to be at work. I think we should do it fast. I feel like I need to do this immediately.”
She didn’t argue.
Would she love to have the people there join them?
Yes, but they were fighting something monumental. Hopefully, they forgave her.
“Let’s do it,” she said. “I want to be your wife.”
Well, then, they were on the same page.
Because he wanted her to be his wife, too.
Forever.
He and the Ice Queen were going to have one hell of an adventure.
Together.
