Chapter Fourteen

Iswallow, feeling myself get wet at his words.

“Fuck.”.

“Do not make me chase you, Cece. I won’t be able to hold back.”

I bite my lip, feeling my cheeks flush, as arousal heats my blood.

“Strip.”

“What if someone comes?”

“The only person who’ll be coming is you.”

“Austin.”

“If anyone even tries to look at what’s mine, I’ll shoot them and bury them beside your father. How’s that?”

“Oddly endearing.”

“You’re a strange woman, Calliope.”

“Says the man who wants to fuck me on my father’s grave.”

He smiles devilishly at me as I slip the straps of my dress over my shoulders and push the material down over my hips, before letting it go. It pools at my feet, but I ignore it, my eyes on Austin as I unhook my bra and throw it aside.

“Panties too.”

I bend down and hook my underwear with my thumbs and drag the scrap of lace down my body.

I step out of them and the dress before standing tall in front of him.

He circles me, trailing the tip of his finger across my collarbone.

He drags it down my spine, dipping it between the cheeks of my ass for a moment before he moves back in front of me.

I watch in fascination as he unbuttons his shirt, swallowing when I see the still healing bullet wound on his chest, knowing how close I came to losing him, even though part of me knows we’d all be safer if he died that day.

My scattered thoughts snap back into place when he strips it off along with his jeans. He’s not wearing boxers, so nothing is blocking the view of his cock standing tall and proud.

“The things I want to do to you,” he murmurs as he strokes himself, his eyes on the curls between the apex of my thighs.

He licks his lips as he moves closer, wrapping his scarred hand around the back of my neck so he can kiss me.

If you can call it that. It’s more like an attack of lips and teeth before his tongue duels with mine.

He pulls away and spins me around. “On your knees, baby.”

I take a shaky breath and drop to my knees, bracing myself with my hands when Austin nudges me over.

He kneels behind me and drags the flat of his tongue down my spine, making me shiver.

I feel him line himself up and push inside me before he grabs my hips and starts thrusting in and out at an almost leisurely pace.

“I can hear him, you know. His pathetic little whimpers, begging for help as his air slowly runs out. You think he can hear us?”

I don’t say anything because that’s fucked-up. But Austin is Austin, fucked-up is his middle name.

He wraps his hand in my hair and yanks my head back, ripping a scream from me.

He grins maniacally. “There, that’s better.

I want him to know what he’s missing. I want him to know how perfect his little girl’s pussy is wrapped around my cock.

You were born to fuck, Cece. And I have no problem fucking you to death. ”

I swallow, my mouth dry, my brain flooded with what the fucks and oh gods. This man is certifiably insane, and I might just be too, because his words are unraveling me from the inside out.

“I want his last thoughts to be of me, defiling his daughter. I don’t want you to cry for the bastard, I want you to come for him.

I want it to soak into the earth. I want him to taste it on his lips before the devil takes him.

” He reaches around and pinches my clit as I sob, unable to hold on any longer.

“That’s it, Cece, come for him, make it the last thing he ever experiences. ”

I explode into a billion tiny particles flying high above the world, watching on in detached horror as my boyfriend defiles me on holy ground.

“Fuck, yes, come for me, Cece, come for your new daddy,” Austin roars as he thrusts into me hard and comes. He pulls out before he finishes, dripping his seed into the soil as his final fuck you to my father.

I roll over in the dirt and look up at him, dazed and confused and yeah, maybe a little turned on still. I should add a padded room to the ranch and a collection of straitjackets.

Austin reaches for me, picks me up, and sets me on my feet.

He makes sure I’m steady before he slips my dress over my head, forgoing my bra and panties.

He shoves my bra into his back pocket when he gets dressed before crouching down in front of me.

He uses my panties to clean my pussy and thighs before he walks over to the headstone and sits them on top of the cool marble.

“Rest in peace, motherfucker.”

He picks up the shovel, tossing it over his shoulder before he offers me his hand. I stare at it, still kinda shell-shocked.

“Did I break you?”

I blink, looking from his hand to his handsome face. “You’re insane.”

“I know. And you fucking love it.”

We pull up at the ranch, the house sending warmth through me, welcoming me home.

Austin jumps out, walks around, opens the door for me, and helps me out. He presses me against the door, caging me in, his eyes on my swollen lips. “I love it when you look freshly fucked.”

“Well, that’s lucky, because with more than one man, I look freshly fucked a lot.”

“Good thing I don’t care which of us leaves you looking like sin and tasting like heaven.”

“Such a poet.”

He leans down and kisses me, far more softly than before. When the door opens, he sighs and pulls back, pressing his forehead against mine. “I’ll see you tomorrow. You call me if you need anything.”

“Okay. Thank you for everything tonight.”

“Anytime you need help getting rid of a body, I’m your guy.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

His lips press against my forehead before he murmurs words meant only for me.

“I love you. I know I have no right to demand anything from you in return. If I were a good man, I’d stay away from you because fuck knows you deserve better.

But I’m not a good man, Cece, and I have no intentions of staying away.

You promised me that if I helped you with Porter, you’d give me you, and I plan on holding you to that.

“I won’t push the issue tonight. I know you have a rough day ahead of you tomorrow. But soon, you’ll need to carve out a space for me. Or I’ll carve one out for myself, and I can’t guarantee you’ll like it.”

“Sometimes I’m not sure if you actually love me or if I’ve just become your obsession.”

“What I feel for you is far too complex to be called love and goes way beyond obsession.”

“And that’s what worries me. Sometimes I feel like only one of us will survive this.”

“If you think I’d let death separate us, then you haven’t been paying attention.” He kisses me again, harder this time. “Tomorrow.”

And then he’s walking around the truck and climbing in. He watches me through the windshield, waiting for me to move before he puts the truck in reverse.

Riggs moves up to stand next to me. “You okay? Shepard called and said you left with Austin. I was worried.”

“I know. I’m sorry. Things with Austin will always be complicated.

I know that you and Shepard have strong feelings toward him.

I get it. I really do. But this bond ties us together whether we like it or not.

I know, deep down, that if I push him away, I’ll have to kill him because it won’t take much to twist what we have and make him into a monster. ”

“I hate to break it to you, Opie, but that man is already a monster.”

I look up at him and sigh. “But while he’s my monster, I’m safe and so is everyone else. The second I cut him free, he’ll kill everyone I love and drag me to hell.”

“Then I’ll kill him for you.”

“You can’t.”

“The fuck I can’t.”

“No, I mean you can’t kill him because…” I step into him, wrapping my arms around the back of his neck.

“Because you love him,” he finishes for me.

“I know it’s not normal. Actually, I know it’s about as fucked-up as fucked-up can get, but I think I’m coming to terms with the fact that I’m not normal. And I’m tired of trying to be.”

“You have daisies and roses growing next to wolfsbane and hemlock. You make face cream to slow the signs of aging and another to reduce scarring from bruises, but you keep it on the same shelf as those little blue bottles that cause erectile dysfunction and pills to make a man’s hair fall out.

You make the weather change with your mood, and when I say I can feel sparks between us, I mean literal sparks.

There is nothing normal about you, and thank fuck for that.

Normal is boring, and you, Opie, are anything but boring. You’re magic.”

He sighs. “If you want him in your life, we’ll find a way to make it work. But don’t ask me to stand by and watch him hurt you.”

“I won’t. If he hurts me, you have free rein to hurt him right back.”

“See, that’s all I’m asking.”

I grin before he kisses me, his hands going to my hips so he can pull me close.

I pull away before things get too heated. “Shepard back yet?”

He shakes his head. “He said not to expect him until late. I left food for both of you in the fridge. Jackie stayed until Hannah went to bed, then I told her to sleep in one of the spare rooms. I don’t know. I just had this feeling she should stay.”

“I’m glad you did.” I bite my lip, wondering whether to tell him what happened tonight.

“What is it?”

“Right now, you have plausible deniability.”

“Right now, you’ve got a pissed-off boyfriend who thought we’d moved past this.”

I press my head to his chest and breathe him in. “We can never tell Shepard. I know that sounds shitty, but—”

“No, I get it.”

I look up at him and see that he does. “I asked Austin to find Porter for me.”

“I know. You told me that earlier.”

“Yeah, well, he found him, and we don’t need to worry about that odious man again.”

“Good. What did you do to him?”

“I didn’t kill him. Neither did Austin.”

“Okay, didn’t see that coming. My question still stands, though.”

I bite my lip. “I may or may not have made Austin drive us to the cemetery where we shoved my father in the casket that was left conveniently empty for the last fifteen years, and then we buried him alive. We might have also consecrated his grave with some really dirty sex.”

He stares at me for a beat before he throws his head back and laughs. “Fucking hell, now that’s what I call poetic.”
