Jett
We sit in the nice Center City steakhouse as Leo holds up a glass of one of my favorite wines from the Detert Family Vineyard in Napa. It’s a several-hundred-dollar bottle, but he’s spoiling me on my birthday.
“Happy birthday, buddy. You’re like a fine wine. You only get better with age.”
I scoff. “Yeah, right. When I get out of bed in the morning, it sounds like a damn orchestra of cracking and popping.”
He chuckles. “Not sure that bodes well for the rest of us mere mortals. You’re in better shape than any other man in the world who’s your age. There’s a reason I never let my wife come to your house for a pool party.”
I ignore him, sip the wine, and take it in. “Hmm, so damn good. Can you taste the red cherry, currant, and cocoa?”
He lifts an unamused eyebrow. “I can taste the plastic of my credit card that will get burned from this bottle.”
I let out a laugh. “You didn’t have to order it.”
He winks. “Yes I did. You deserve it. You’re one of the best men I know.”
“If that’s the case, I think you need to get out more often.”
He rolls his eyes. “No kids tonight?” he asks.
I shake my head. “Kennedy reached out. That’s a small victory in and of itself. We’re playing pickleball and having lunch tomorrow to celebrate. Pierce and Ginny are in Cabo for his spring break.”
“Which I’m sure you’re paying for,” he mumbles judgmentally.
I nod. “Of course I’m paying for Pierce to go on vacation. They did invite me, but I have some…other things going on right now.” I can’t contain my smile.
He studies me carefully. “A woman?” he asks both hopefully and accusatorily.
I nod. “The woman.”
His eyes widen in surprise. “Whoa. Who is she? Anyone I know?”
I’ve been contemplating not telling him, but I need someone close to my age to talk to about her. I know I can trust Leo to be discreet.
I swallow. “You probably do know her or have at least met her in passing. It’s Fallon Montgomery.”
He pinches his eyebrows together. “Tanner’s ex-wife?”
I hate that she’s viewed in relation to him. “She’s much more than that, but yes.”
He gives me an impressed look. “Wow, she’s stunning. There’s no denying that.”
“She is. Both inside and out.” I study him carefully. “I thought you’d have an opinion on this.”
He shrugs. “If you’re happy, I’m happy. Yes, I’ve met her at a few parties. It was many years ago. She was lovely. She’s age-appropriate, beautiful, doesn’t need your money, and seems like a decent person. As far as I know, there’s no drama between her and Tanner.”
“No, there isn’t. They’re very friendly. Fallon was a bridesmaid in his recent wedding.”
He lets out a laugh. “That’s a new one, even for me.”
I nod. “Yep. She’s amazing. She’s changing my life for the better. I’m head over heels for her.”
He seems taken aback. I knew he would be. He’s obviously never seen me like this.
“Why aren’t you with her tonight?” he skeptically asks.
“Well, we’re keeping things private for now with Pierce’s issues and her daughter going through some changes with a new stepmom. She has her daughter tonight.” And I didn’t tell her it was my birthday. Today was a big day for her.
Just then, my phone buzzes and I look at it, smiling when I read the text from Fallon.
“Oh my god,” he whines. “I can tell it’s her. You look like a lovesick puppy.”
I can’t contain my widening grin. “Guilty as charged. She had a change of plans with her daughter. She wants to come by later. Not to be an asshole, but let’s wrap this up. I need to see my girl.”
He shakes his head in disbelief. “Wonders never cease.”
Fallon should be here soon. She instructed me to undress and get into bed before she arrived. I’m hoping it means she’s planning to model one of her new lingerie outfits for me. I love seeing them on her. They drive me wild.
I’m reading in bed in my black boxer briefs when I hear my front door open and close. I then hear her moving around my kitchen for a few minutes. What is she doing in there?
The sounds of her ascending my stairs get my heart rate pumping wildly. I get so damn excited to see her.
She pokes only her head in my bedroom door opening. I immediately place my book on my nightstand and remove my reading glasses. “Hey, angel face. I didn’t think I’d see you tonight. This is a nice treat.”
She purses her lips. “Someone didn’t tell me it’s his birthday.”
I give her a small smile as I shrug. “It was your first day of work. It was your day. And I thought you were busy tonight with Harper. I didn’t want to make you feel bad.”
Her face softens. “It’s your birthday, Jett. You should be celebrated.”
I wave my hand dismissively. “I’m too old to celebrate birthdays. Plus, Leo bought me a good bottle of wine and a nice piece of steak. Now I get you for dessert? That’s all I need.”
“How old are you?” she asks cheekily.
I smirk. “Old enough to remember when Pizza Hut had a salad bar.”
She giggles. “I forgot about that. Seriously, how old are you?”
We both know she could google it if she really wanted to know, but she loves this game as much as I do.
“So old I have to look up a menu online before I go to a restaurant because I know I won’t be able to read it when I’m there.”
She runs her lower lip through her teeth. “But you look so sexy in your reading glasses.”
I twist my lips. “It’s not only the menu font size. It’s the dark lighting in restaurants. Pierce throws a fit when I turn on my phone flashlight. And I didn’t even have a phone flashlight until you came into my life.”
She giggles again.
“Why are you hiding out there?” I open my arms. “Come to me.”
“I decided to bake for your birthday,” she mischievously smiles.
“God help us all.” She’s a terrible cook.
“I think you’ll like it,” she coos like the little minx she is.
My dick starts to harden. I have no idea what she has planned, but I’m confident I will indeed like it.
She steps into my room, and my dick goes from a semi to the best, hardest boner of my life.
I suck in a breath as I take in the image of my wildest fantasy unfolding in front of my eyes.
The fantasy I’ve had for over twenty-five years.
The fantasy every man in America has also had, but I’m the lucky bastard who gets to live it.
“Holy fuck,” I breathe.
She’s wearing a whipped-cream bikini like in the movie we previously discussed. She’s naked except for the whipped cream covering only her pussy and tits. There are cherries over her nipples.
Saliva pools in my mouth as I stare at her, memorizing every inch because I will replay this image every single day for the rest of my life.
She lifts her right hand, which appears to have a candle in it. With the lighter in her left hand, she sets the candle ablaze and holds it out. “Come blow out your candle and then eat your cake.”
Best. Birthday. Ever.
