“Aye, what you need?” The nigga, Donald, who’d nicknamed Téa a ho at the promenade queried, bundled up in the hoodie that aided him in braving the cold LA nights so he could make his bread.

I enjoyed the fact that niggas had no idea I was supplying their boss’s boss. I’d sent Josias to convince him to collude with us in order to make sure Mylo got out and scot-free, so he still had no idea who I was.

“I ain’t sure,” I said, pulling my heat out on the low. “But I suggest you watch who you go around calling hos, nigga.”

“Huh? Nigga, get the fuck from ’round here with that bullshit! Come back when you know what you want and ain’t speaking in circles!” he barked, not realizing those would be his last words.

Before he could pull his long-faced ass from my window, I put three bullets in it, sending his homeboy running down the alley as Donald’s body dropped, mug unrecognizable.

Flooring the gas, I chased his boy down the alley and caught up to him instantly despite his head start. The loud screech of my brakes would be made up for by the silencer attached to my gun, as I reached that shit out and blew his face off just as I’d done his counterpart.

His body fell, face just as mutilated judging by the image of him in my side mirrors, so I pulled off as if it was a regular old fucking day, and in a sense, it was.

“My bad. I ain’t know you was dropping by.” Josias scratched his head in a sort of disoriented way as he walked off, allowing me inside his home.

I trailed him, frowning at the loud ass stench of marijuana that had engulfed his foyer, so I knew he’d been smoking that shit all over the home, which was alarming.

Josias put his kids first in everything he did, down to smoking. And his whip plus home were two places he didn’t smoke in, not wanting the smell to permeate the air whenever his kids came through.

“Nigga, you been hotboxing for a week or some shit?” I asked as I stepped down into his den, watching him toss blankets around as he searched for something.

“Nah, but I have been smoking a lot.” He located his phone, tapped it to check the screen, then sat down, finally looking over at me. “I ain’t get no message from you, so what’s up?”

Sighing, I walked to the bar and said, “Come have a drink with me.”

“I’m high enough, nigga, as you can smell.” He chuckled, eyes barely open.

“Come have a drink.” I kept a stoic expression, causing Josias’s smile to falter before he ascended and stalked to the bar where I was.

Reaching over it, he retrieved a bottle of dark Don Julio and two glasses before filling them halfway.

“Aight. What’s so bad that I need to be crossfaded, Rah?” He took a sip, tucking his lips at the strong taste.

“I found out what happened to Zaire for real,” I said, and Josias froze.

“Fuck.” He ran his hands down his face. “Don’t tell me.”

“It ain’t that,” I informed, making his head pop up.

“Ain’t what?”

“Suicide. I was suspicious of that, too, ’cause we know bro was struggling, but that wasn’t it.”

I watched Josias’s shoulders sag in relief before he asked, “Then what happened?”

I could hear the slight intake of breath he took to let me know he was nervous.

“Nate Godfrey happened to him. He injected that fentanyl, a high dosage. And since Zaire was no stranger to overdosing, he knew it was likely we may not question the shit,” I said, coming to my own conclusions as far as my father’s thought process.

“Nah.” Josias shook his head, chuckling sardonically as he glanced off for a moment. “You sure? How you know?”

“I’m sure. I wouldn’t even be bringing this shit to you if I wasn’t since I know you been dealing with a lot, losing him and Kasia.”

“Chill out.”

“Just being real, muthafucka.” I took a long sip of my drink, pondering. “Mylo found the nigga who sold the shit to Nate. What are the odds that Nate, who ain’t ever done drugs in his fucking life, would buy enough fentanyl to kill two people and around the time Zaire died from that shit?”

“Fuck.” Josias banged on the bar, blinking rapidly as he absentmindedly stared down into his glass of liquor. “But why?”

“Zaire must’ve known something or found some shit out. That’s the only thing I can think of ’cause nothing else makes sense. We don’ all talked shit to the nigga and poked our chests out to him—excluding Ayan—so it wasn’t no shit like that, or I would’ve been had a hit put on me.”

“Yeah.” He bobbed his head, scratching at his beard. “You think the nigga was gay or had a boyfriend or some shit?”

We chuckled.

“Nah.” I spun my glass. “Zaire was too empathetic for that to be something he’d hold over Nate. It had to be some shit Zaire didn’t like and was maybe gon’ tell us.”

Josias and I locked eyes, both contemplating and wading through our thoughts and scenarios, before saying “Ma” simultaneously.

“You think he did something to her? We got an autopsy done, though, and they confirmed it was a heart attack.”

He was right. My pops wanted to cremate my mother immediately, which caused some suspicion among Josias and myself.

So, we requested to have an autopsy done, and once it was confirmed that she’d had a heart attack like Nate told us, we let the shit go.

Now, I was feeling like that was a fucking mistake.

“Maybe so.” I finished my drink.

“How the fuck we gon’ get the truth now? Zaire gone, and that nigga ain’t gon’ tell on himself.”

“Not sure, but I’m gon’ find out. Just give me some time.” I stared off, but I could see Josias nod in agreement in my peripheral.

I kicked the shit with my brother for a bit, but when he started venting about Kasia and some nigga she was fucking with, I knew it was time to go.

I took no issue with listening to my little brother speak on his problems, but Zaire and I had warned that nigga years ago to leave Tarin alone and get his shit together for Kasia because she would tire of his bullshit.

Nigga didn’t heed to our warnings, so I wasn’t exactly interested in hearing him moaning and groaning about some shit I told him would happen when he had a chance to prevent the shit.

As soon as I walked into my home, the smell of something well-seasoned hit my nostrils, tugging me to the kitchen by my senses. When I peeked in, it was empty, but I saw the timer on the oven letting me know something was cooking.

Making my way upstairs, I heard the shower running in Daylin’s bathroom, and the thought of her ass naked under that water had my dick tenting my joggers. Stripping down, I entered the steamy bathroom, making her wipe the glass door to peer at who’d intruded on her.

“Oh.” She simpered, looking beautiful as ever, even with that elaborate ass shower cap on.

“Oh? Who else was supposed to be coming in here?” I asked, pulling on the shower door handle and stepping in. “Huh?” I smacked her wet ass, making her whimper.

“I had to be sure. You know I’m a hot commodity,” she jested as I hugged her from behind, pressing my dick against her ass.

“You are.” I sucked on her neck, groping her breasts under the warm water.

She winced slightly, catching me off guard, but I continued once she reached back to stroke my already hard dick.

She craned her neck some just before I started to suck on her full lips, running my hand down her stomach and in between her legs to toy with her swollen clit. I wanted to eat her pussy badly, but I was hard as a brick and didn’t wanna nut while licking cat. I wanted to feel her walls.

Leaning her forward slightly, I prodded her opening before pushing my way in.

“Fuck,” she whimpered, throbbing around my shaft though I was only halfway in.

As she palmed the shower wall, I gripped her ass cheeks in my hand while pushing further inside of her. Usually, I was able to fully sink inside, but before I could, Daylin was running.

“Bring yo’ ass back,” I commanded, but when I saw she wasn’t, I locked her against the wall before plunging myself fully inside.

She yelped, making me grip the front of her neck and lean down to tongue kiss her slowly as I slipped in and out of her measuredly.

I palmed her stomach with my other hand, to keep her close, and once she rained down my shaft, I started to beat her shit up.

“Rah . . . oh my . . . wait . . .” She whimpered against my mouth as I sucked her bottom lip, pounding her pussy from behind.

I knew I wouldn’t last long. Her pussy was perfectly wet, perfectly tight, and I could feel the way her plump ass was bouncing against me with every stroke.

“Fuck,” I grumbled, going harder. “You just be cumming back to back, Day. I love that shit,” I admitted, hammering her walls, hand still pressed against her abdomen to keep her from running.

She put one of her small hands on my abs to slow me up, but it was a futile effort as I continued assaulting her pussy, making the sound of it plus our skin clapping echo over the hot bathroom.

“Rah!” Her body tensed as she released heavily, causing her body to quiver, and I couldn’t take anymore as I filled her up, biting down on her neck as she whimpered.

We kissed as I unhurriedly removed myself from being inside of her. She couldn’t stand, so she sank down onto the shower seat as I put soap onto her wash towel.

“You running again, Day. We gotta fix that.” I started washing her off.

“Shut up.” She giggled.

“Nah, but it felt different.”

“Wow. You didn’t complain until after you finished, I see.”

“Not a complaint, baby, just something I noticed.” I kissed her slightly pouted lips. “Just as great, just different.”

Daylin didn’t say anything as I finished washing her off and then rinsed her with one of the removable showerheads.

I washed her down again with her moisturizing soap and then started on myself, but she didn’t stick around like usual, opting to exit and start drying off, so I knew I’d pissed her little ass off.
