Chapter 22
Blair
That night, I couldn’t sleep.
I kept replaying the way Greyson had looked after running into Adrian. Tense. Quiet. Angry in a way I’d never seen before.
So when he knocked gently on my bedroom door and stepped in, I didn’t say a word. I just opened my arms and let him in.
He slid under the covers and pulled me close, his hand curling protectively around my waist.
“I missed you,” he whispered against my shoulder.
I turned in his arms. I was so scared of the past and what might happen if I finally let it go. I stared into his hazel eyes and breathed, “I missed you, too.”
His lips found mine, soft and searching at first, then deeper. Hungrier. Like all the fear and worry of the last few days spilled out in how he touched me.
Our clothes came off slowly, reverently. He kissed down my chest, across my stomach, and looked up at me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered.
“You’re safe, my honey bee,” he murmured, voice hoarse.
And when he thrust inside me, it was like coming home.
We didn’t rush. We took our time, exploring, remembering, and building something unbreakable with every breath and whispered promise. I knew, deep down, that there was no going back. Greyson was my person and I was madly in love with him.
I lifted my head and looked at him, into his stormy hazel eyes. “I’m falling for you, Grey, hard.”
He looked back at me and smiled. “Same here, Bee. Although I don’t think I ever stopped.”
I lay my head on his chest and listened to his heart beating, slow and precise. And when we finally fall asleep, tangled together, I knew I’d never feel alone again.
