Sometimes, in the stillness of the night, I can feel your eyes on me. I wonder if you even realize you’re searching for me, reaching for something you do not yet have the words to name.
I know what it is. I know what you need. You need my presence. My strong hand to guide you. My force of will to protect you.
I have felt you flutter with uncertainty through our bond. But in the past zeniths, I sense you growing stronger, more certain of yourself. I can even sense your pleasure.
Even at this distance, even through this fractured connection. I taste you in my dreams, in that space between waking and sleep, where your soul calls to mine.
I also sense your frustration. A restlessness beneath your skin, a dissatisfaction with the life you lead. I could take it all away. I could ease that ache, banish it entirely.
All you have to do is accept the bond. Say the words “I, Danika Starbourne, accept you, Orion Thalos, as my fated mate.”
You could do it this instant as you read the letter. Say the words out loud.
Why are you wasting time fighting something that is inevitable? How much longer do you mean to deny yourself what is already yours?
