Chapter 19

Chapter

Nineteen

Bodi

Sex has always been my priority in relationships so that’s why I intend to be patient this time around.

Except Jayne surprises me.

“We’ve known each other a month,” she replies quietly. “Is that rushing?”

“Well, technically, I guess not but our situation is different and—”

“Bodi.” She squeezes my hand, hard. “I don’t want you to treat me differently. I want you to be yourself.”

“You wouldn’t like the guy I used to be.”

“Okay, some parts of you maybe, but we know this isn’t a one-night stand. That part is different. Also, I’m a grown woman and it’s okay to want to touch me. Because I want to touch you. Desperately.”

I can’t help but snap my gaze in her direction.

She’s staring back at me with those beautiful golden eyes and I lean over to pop a quick kiss on her lips.

“I’m just trying to be a good guy,” I admit. “Not a guy just trying to get into your pants.”

“Is that the only thing you want? Because that’s okay too, as long as you’re up front and honest about it.”

“Hell no. You think I’d risk my career for sex?” I shake my head. “Not a chance. I can get laid pretty easily—I don’t need to do that with my coach’s daughter. You and I have had a spark since you ran me over at the DDS.”

She laughs. “I don’t know why you keep exaggerating the circumstances of how we met, but yes, we’ve had chemistry from that moment.”

“I might’ve gotten a black eye,” I deadpan. “I don’t know why you keep trying to minimize it.”

She reaches over and pinches my thigh. “Don’t make me hurt you, buddy.”

“Ouch.” I playfully swat her hand away.

“Just wait until I get you naked!”

“Uh uh, no way,” I joke. “I no longer trust you with the family jewels.”

“Oh, I’ll take good care of your…jewels.”

God, this feels good. A woman who can joke around and be playful and even have fun talking about sex without being crude. Most women I take out would already have my dick in their mouths.

And while that can be fun too, it’s not the dynamic between us. Or the one I want going forward.

I head toward home and there’s a comfortable silence. She’s staring out the window, humming, and I try to place the song.

“Nirvana? ‘Come As You Are’?” I ask.

“Yeah. They’re my favorite. Well, they were my mom’s favorite and listening to their music makes me feel closer to her. Don’t get me wrong, I love their music too, but the connection to my mom is special.”

“My mom loved Abba,” I say after a moment. “She would play them all the time so if their music ever comes on and I know every word, that’s why.”

“I like Abba,” she says. “And I love the movies.”

“I haven’t seen them,” I admit. “I was afraid it would remind me too much of Mom.”

“Well, if you ever want to try, I’m happy to watch them with you.”

“Next time we have date night it can be at the house and I can stream them.”

“Sounds fun.”

I pull up to the house and into my space in the garage.

“Wow, this place is almost as big as ours,” she says, looking around.

“Five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, five guys, and four parking spots.” I laugh.

“And West has two cars so it’s a little complicated but it works out.

Whoever’s outside has to drive with someone to practice.

West and I go together a lot since we like to get there early.

Simon and Felix ride together most of the time and Vik likes to go on his own.

So far, it’s been seamless but I’m sure there will be times when we need to move things around.

We’re all having duplicate keys made to hang on a ring in the mud room so if someone needs to move a car late at night, they can do it without having to disturb anyone. ”

“That’s a good plan.”

“Except West’s Ferrari—that stays in the garage.”

“Now that’s a car I’d like to drive sometimes,” she says. “Assuming I learn to drive a regular car first.”

“I can teach you,” I offer amiably. “Have you driven at all?”

“I took driver’s ed in high school, which included both the book stuff as well as driving time, but it’s been seven years. I might be rusty.”

“That’s okay. We’ll find a place with a big parking lot—maybe one of those mega churches, like on a Thursday or whatever, when no one is there. And you can practice.”

“That sounds perfect. I’d really like that. Thank you.”

We walk into the house and it’s dark.

“Everyone is out except Vik,” I say. “My bedroom is the only one downstairs. With its own bathroom.”

“You lucked out.”

“West asked me first so I got to choose. He’s in the primary bedroom, of course, but that’s upstairs.

Someday, with his permission, I’ll show it to you.

There’s a fireplace built into the wall between the bedroom and bathroom, so you can use it in either room.

It’s one of the two-sided ones. When I buy a house, I’m definitely getting that. ”

“It sounds beautiful. I have a fireplace in my room, but it’s just a normal one, against the wall. No complaints, though. I can’t wait for the weather to change so I can use it.”

“I don’t have a fireplace, but I do have privacy.” I motion with my hand and let her walk in ahead of me. Leaving a door open is a signal that we’re not home, so everyone knows if the door is closed, someone is inside.

“Oh, it’s spacious!” she says when I turn on the light.

“The bathroom and closets are a good size too. It’s technically an in-law suite, so it’s meant to be comfortable. Sorry about the bed, by the way. I don’t usually make it.”

“I don’t either.” She sits on the edge and smiles up at me invitingly.

“Do you, uh, want to see the rest of the house?” I can’t believe it, but I’m nervous. Not about the sex but about the emotions that could potentially go with it. I don’t know if I’ve ever made love to a woman in the romantic sense of the term—it’s always been about fucking.

“No.” She pats the space beside her. “I want you to come sit next to me and tell me why you’re acting nervous all of a sudden.”

I blow out a breath and sink down beside her, wrapping one arm around her waist. “I like you, Jayne. A lot. I don’t want to screw this up.”

“Will adding a physical element to our relationship somehow screw things up?” she asks softly, eyes searching my face.

“I don’t think so but I’ve never…” I hesitate.

Honesty, Bodi.

I have to be honest if I want to do better than I’ve done in the past. That’s the only way I can move forward.

“You’ve never…?” she prompts.

“I’ve always just fucked. There’s never been any kind of lovemaking, I guess. It’s always been purely physical. And I don’t know what you need.”

“What I need is for you to touch me.”

Well, what breathing male can resist an invitation like that?

Instead of continuing to overthink things, I lean over and brush my lips across hers.

I start slow, because I want to savor it, and I nibble and explore, testing out what she likes.

Every woman is different, and kissing is fun once you find your groove together.

She doesn’t seem interested in slow, because her lips part and soft and tender explodes into a deeper connection.

Our tongues move together, and she shifts, turning until I pull her onto my lap. Then I go right back to kissing her.

With one arm around her waist and the other on the side of her face, we’re nestled together and her body feels amazing this close to mine.

She’s warm and soft and curvy, her plump little ass pressed against my cock.

He’s gone from zero to sixty in about two point four seconds, so he’s as anxious as she seems to be.

But I still want to take my time exploring every inch of her body.

“You feel good,” I whisper against her mouth.

“You feel amazing,” she breathes, running a hand along my biceps. “I love your arms.”

I cover her mouth with mine again, this time going in deep.

Our tongues come together urgently, and my patience snaps.

I kiss her like I’ve wanted to almost since the first time I met her, digging my fingers into the hair at the back of her neck.

A soft moan leaves her and I deepen even more, until we’re all but devouring each other.

One hand drifts down her back, slipping beneath her blouse and coming in contact with silky skin. I skim up her back, skipping over the band of her bra so I can touch as much skin as possible.

“Fuck, you’re sexy,” I growl against her. I’ve just moved in for another kiss when there’s a brisk knock just before the door flies open.
