T here is nothing that this life can throw at me that will drown me. Not with God on my side. Sure, I’ll still experience tough times driven by loss, grief, and pain. But there will never be a moment where we are forsaken. Only molded into a powerful servant of Christ.
What a gift that is, to be loved by Him.
To be given the chance to love and be loved.
The water rushes around us, and I glance over at Bianca, who’s smiling widely. Soon, she’ll be my wife. Eloise will—God willing—become a big sister, as we both want children.
I’ll still help others through Knight Security, and plan to fly here one month a year to volunteer, doing whatever it is they need. I feel drawn to this place, to these people.
Things have never been so clear as they are to me now. I have a purpose. A plan.
And I’ll follow Jesus wherever He leads me.
I didn’t find my faith in a church pew on a sunny Sunday morning. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course, it’s just not how it worked for me.
No, I found mine walking through a fiery furnace, feeling like I was going to lose everything. But just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, I was not burned by the flames.

I was too stubborn to see it, too blinded by pain and burdened by what I thought I knew rather than the truth that was always in front of me.
He brought me out of the jungle.

He brought me Bianca.
And through Jesus, I found my salvation.
