CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Liana

It's been three months since Luca found me.

Three months of healing. Of nightmares and breakthroughs. Of learning to trust again.

The men who hurt me are dead. All of them.

I should feel guilty about that. Should feel something other than relief.

But I don't.

They got what they deserved.

And now I can move forward.

Luca and I are... together. I don't know what else to call it.

We haven't slept together. Not yet. I'm not ready for that.

But we kiss. We hold each other. We talk about everything and nothing.

He makes me feel alive again.

I'm starting to remember who I was before. The girl who loved to read. Who wanted to travel. Who dreamed of opening her own bakery someday.

I'm not that girl anymore. I'll never be that girl again.

But maybe I can be someone new. Someone stronger.

Someone who survived.

And maybe, with Luca beside me, I can build a life worth living.
