Chapter 6

six

. . .

As soon as I accept, my screen goes dark and then I’m transferred to a different area. I’m a bit disoriented at first, caught off guard from the quick change of scenery, but once my eyes begin to adjust, I gasp.

My new surroundings have me in complete awe.

We’re in a small, cozy room with a wall of floor to ceiling windows in what appears to be the middle of the woods.

There are two wide walls of rustic bookshelves spanning the length of the other two walls and a small fireplace opposite the windows.

Two plush armchairs sit invitingly close to the fireplace and a chaise lounge rests against one of the bookcases. This place is my literal dream library.

There’s a faint sound of rainfall splattering against the glass as thunder rumbles in the distance. The room is dim and the outside is gloomy; my favorite type of weather. The ambiance is so soothing. Scanning the room in disbelief, a slow smile stretches across my face.

“It’s so beautiful here,” I say softly, pressing my palms against the window. I can almost feel the cold surface of the glass on my palms.

“Your avi,” Kaelum says from somewhere behind me. “It looks a lot like you.”

“That’s what I was going for,” I tell him, still admiring the beauty of nature before me. A single bird flies past me. A beautiful raven. “How does this all feel and look so real?”

“Pretty cool, right?” Lucien asks. “I thought it was a good choice given your love for trees, rain, and books.”

“It’s the perfect choice,” I agree. “I love it here. You know me so well.”

“Next, I’m going to make you see stars.”

My stomach drops as I turn to face Lucien, hearing him chuckle quietly under his breath. Except, I don’t laugh. If anything, I take it seriously. I want him to make me see stars. Hell, make me see the galaxy.

I’ll be a good girl and beg if that’s what it takes.

Is there a kneeling position on this thing or what?

“A world with a night sky full of stars, I mean,” he clarifies, almost testing me, seeing if I’ll fold. If I’m bold enough. If I want more.

“Yeah?” I ask, flirtatiously “But how will I see them with my head thrown back and eyes closed?”

Oh, shit. I’ll praise myself for that one.

Good girl, Nora.

“Oh,” Kaelum murmurs, slight humor in his tone. “Wait, am I intruding here? Should I leave?”

“I’m not sure,” Lucien responds softly to Kaelum. “Should he leave, Nora? Or is two better than one?”

“Even numbers are nice,” I encourage.

“Fuck,” Kaelum groans. “I feel like I’m missing something, but I like it.”

“Come here,” Lucien calls out, his voice sharp, demanding. For a moment, I’m not sure if he’s speaking to me or Kaelum. “You. Nora,” he specifies, my name sounding so good slipping from his tongue. “Come. Here.”

My heart begins to race as I approach him, especially considering how attractive his avi is. How can a damn avatar make me so nervous and giddy?

Maybe it’s because Lucien’s voice is attached to it.

When I’m right before him, he moves closer, cocking his head to the side. “Good girl,” he breathes.

“Innocent Nora may not be so innocent,” Kaelum whispers from over my shoulder, sounding so close it sends a shiver down my spine. “Is there something you want from him? Us, maybe?”

Internal screams.

What’s gotten into me? Whatever it is, why do I like it?

“Mmm,” I softly let out, my pulse quickening. “I can’t lie. Being sandwiched by both of your voices is like heaven to the ears.”

“Mmm,” Lucien echoes, saying nothing more.

“Seems like Nora wants to play with us.”

“I’m not sure.”

“Hmm,” Kaelum sighs. “Does she deserve it? Has she been a good girl?”

Lucien steps closer. “She’s been such a good girl.”

Kaelum circles Lucien and I, rubbing a hand on his chin. “Did I miss out on something?” Kaelum asks suavely, intrigued.

“No idea what you’re talking about,” Lucien replies dismissively, staying true to his word on keeping what happened between the two of us private.

Until I decide to make it known.

“It’s possible something happened,” I say teasingly, the two of them towering over me.

“Is it bad if I’m jealous?” Kaelum questions, cautiously coming to a halt. He puts his hands on his hips and pouts.

“Not at all,” I reply, flirtatiously. “Lucien made me an offer I can’t refuse. Is it still on the table?”

Lucien releases a small breath. “For you, absolutely,” he answers.

“On the books, of course,” I press.

He inches closer, his avatar's face incredibly close to mine. “Just tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you.”

“Help me bring the friends with benefits trope to life?” I inquire.

“Yes. Done.”

“It’s all still strictly platonic. Best friend, fake boyfriend for hire type of deal.”

“All yours,” he replies promptly. “You want to learn more about yourself—I get that. There is nothing I’d love more than to help you…explore yourself.”

The popular meme pops up in my head.

It’s happening. Everybody stay calm, it’s happening!

“Well, fuck,” Kaelum grits out, and suddenly his hushed voice is in my left ear. “Can I… listen?”

Holy shit balls.

“You want to listen?” I ask, my body trembling with excitement.

“I’d love to.”

Voyeurism. That’s high on the list.

“Okay,” I answer immediately.

“Where do you want me, Lenny?” he questions submittingly.

Heat rushes through me. Why was that so fucking hot?

Without saying a word, I point to the other side of the room.

With that, Kaelum takes a seat in the corner of the room by the window, quietly surveying the scene before him. This happening while being in VR is wild. It really feels as if I’m in the same room as them.

“Are you at your desk?” Lucien asks me.

“In my chair,” I reply.

“Hmm.”

“What?”

“If I were there, I’d lift you into my arms and carry you to bed,” he says, vaguely painting out the image. “Or I could wrap your hair around my wrist and drag you there.”

Holy…

Being dragged by my hair to bed is definitely a goal. I’ve always fantasized about it after reading it in my favorite books, but my ex was much more vanilla. Five minutes of missionary was exciting enough for him.

Before I can even make sense of it, I’m in bed after tripping over the leg of my chair and a pair of slippers, half blinded by this bulky headset.

Worth it.

“Which do you prefer?” he asks, his voice deepening. “You’d rather be dragged there, wouldn’t you?”

“Yes,” I whisper, my voice nearly drowned out by the faint sound of rain and rumbling thunder.

“What are you wearing, baby girl?”

“In real life?”

“Mhm.”

“A big t-shirt.”

“Anything else?” he inquires, playfully.

“Nothing.”

“Fuck,” he groans deeply. “Get in bed, Nora.”

“Already am,” I reveal.

You can easily hear the eagerness in my voice. I’ve reached the point where I don’t even care how desperate I sound to him. To anyone, really.

Heat flushes through my body. I haven’t been intimate with someone in over a year, and at this point I’m raging with pent-up sexual tension. I’m yearning for this. For the first time in a while, I’m letting go of the potential embarrassment and giving in fully.

“Describe what you would do to me, Lucien,” I nearly beg, my breathing already labored. “In detail.”

“I’d start by trailing my hand along your leg,” he begins, his voice low. “Starting at your ankle, then slowly making my way up to your knee, lingering on the top of your thigh.”

My own hand mimics the path. Oh, god. It’s like he’s the one touching me. My heart races at the thought of having his large, tattooed hand caressing my body. Goosebumps rise on my skin, and a hushed moan falls from my lips.

“I’d brush my fingertips along your inner thigh, teasingly, up and down, taking my time. Then, when you start squirming, moaning, begging…only then would I move my hand to where you really want it.”

Oh, hell.

My stomach does that thing, flipping over. It’s like the drop on a rollercoaster ride. I’m in bed… free falling.

“Mmm,” I softly encourage.

“Slipping my hand between your wet thighs, I’d lean in and press my lips against your neck, feeling the warmth of your skin against mine while I sink one finger inside you.”

Right on cue, I gasp at the sensation.

I haven’t felt butterflies in so long. These damn feel-good chemicals wash over me entirely and hold me captive, my brain locking onto the sound of his voice.

“I’d thrust my fingers inside you, over and over. Each time deeper and harder than the last.”

My pulse quickens. All the muscles in my body tense up. Grinding against my hand, I moan softly, breathing faster.

“That’s my good girl,” he praises. “Let me hear them.”

Desperate, urgent whimpers escape me, wetness coating my hand.

“You’re so wet, clenching down on my fingers so I know you’re getting close. Isn’t that right?”

“Yes,” I rush out, trembling, sweat beading on my forehead. “I’m… so… close…”

…Already.

“Tell me how badly you want to come.”

“So badly,” I whimper, my clit pulsing against my palm.

“You’ve needed this all day, baby, haven’t you?”

“Yes.”

“Then beg for it,” he commands.

Through waves of bliss, the blood in my body pulses hard.

“Please. I’m right there. Please,” I plead, trembling, toes curling.

“Not yet.”

On the verge of exploding into pleasure, I gasp loudly. “Oh my god, please? Please?”

“Don’t you dare fucking come, Nora,” he sharply breathes. “I said not yet.”

“Luce,” I beg. “I can’t.”

“You can do this, baby. I know you can.”

Slowing my movements, I whimper, breathing hard and fast. It’s almost impossible to hold off. If I do one more thrust of my fingers, it’s over for me. Forcing my mind to become still, I hold my breath, waiting. Spiraling.

“Now curl your fingers for me,” he orders firmly, “and ride your hand like it’s mine.”

Submitting fully, I moan loudly and do as I’m told.

“Now come for me,” he orders.

And holy hell, I oblige.

The pressure builds, an intense orgasm swallowing me whole. Letting out soft cries, I ride out my climax; my inner walls clench hard at my fingers as my clit pulsates against my palm.

“Good fucking girl,” Lucien grits out. “Look at you, coming all over your fingers to the sound of my voice.”

Holy shit.

I’ve never had an orgasm that intense in my life.

Breathless, and coming down from the insane high I just experienced, I scan the cozy library, gathering my thoughts. Did I have a good time? Yes. Do I have any regrets? None at all. Did I probably wake up Jasmine with my moans? Also, yes. Oops.

Most importantly, would I be down for another session with him?

Hell to the yes.

“How are you feeling, love?” Lucien asks, breaking the silence.

“I’ll be getting some amazing sleep tonight,” I admit.

“Good.”

“Well, shit,” Kaelum lets out, clearing his throat.

“You good, Kae?” I ask him, breathlessly.

“Are you kidding me? Never been better.”

“I think I’m ready for bed now,” I say, laughing shyly.

“If I were there I’d get you a glass of cold water and your favorite snack,” Lucien tells me. “Then I’d lay beside you in bed and play with your hair.”

My heart skips a beat.

“That’s sweet,” I reply, my voice barely audible.

“Are you hungry?” he asks, raising his hand to my face. “I can uber you something to eat.”

“A chocolate milkshake would go so hard right now, but I ate earlier,” I explain, feeling giddy as I stare into the eyes of his avatar. “Thank you, though.”

Kaelum approaches us, letting out a soft breath. “You know how incredible you are, right?” he asks.

“The same goes to you,” I say, my eyelids becoming heavier by the second. “Both of you are.”

“Eh. We’re alright, I guess,” he jokes.

“You’ve both been there for me through some really hard shit. Seriously,” I say, sincerely. “This last year hasn’t been easy for me, but you’ve brought some light back into my life.”

“We’re not going anywhere, love,” Lucien promises.

“We’re here to stay,” Kaelum agrees.

“Should we switch into the VC?” Lucien asks.

Kaelum disconnects, his avatar disappearing abruptly.

“Meet you there, Luce.”

“Your chocolate milkshake will be there in about fifteen.”

“You didn’t!”

“Couldn’t help myself. Good girls get rewarded.”

“Such a good guy,” I giggle, getting the urge to shove him playfully.

Disconnecting from Chatworld, I blush, smiling up at my ceiling.
