Chapter 35 #2

“I wanted to show you the spot where I met the girl I’ve fallen madly in love with.

” His greys hold me captivated, and the love I feel pouring off of him seeps into me so profoundly that tears spring to my eyes.

“That day changed my life forever, and I thank God every day that I made the choice to pull over.”

“Me too,” I whisper. “I love you so much, Miles. I can’t put into words how happy you make me.” His thumb catches a tear, and he smiles.

“I’m going to spend the rest of my life making you happy…making our family happy,” he says, including Bee and making my heart soar again.

His lips find mine, and I sink into their warmth as I wrap my arms around his neck. He brings my body against him, and it’s always like coming home when I’m in his arms.

“I have another thing I want to show you,” he breathes against my lips as he breaks away. Taking my hand, he leads me to his bike.

“What about my jeep?”

“Ryder and Eve are coming by soon to fix it and drive it back to Montgomery’s.” He takes the helmet off the back, and something catches my eye. I take it from his hands to get a better look.

“This isn’t Sophia’s.” I see my new tattoo design on the bottom left. I trace the little bee woven in with the honeysuckles and music notes.

“Thought it was time you had your own,” he grins. “It’s the same one I have, but girls like to decorate things, so I added something pretty to it.”

“I love it,” I whisper. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” he smiles. “Let’s see how it looks.” He helps me put it on and buckle the strap. “Looks just like I knew it would on you.”

“Which is?” I ask, watching him through the visor opening.

“Like it belongs there…like you’re mine.” He flips my visor down and grins. “We need to get going before I find a place to bend you over that bike and make us very late for our next stop.”

I’m grinning like a girl in love as I watch him fasten his helmet. “Where are you taking me? We have work.”

He gets on the bike and holds my hand as my leg swings over. I immediately scoot closer and wrap my arms around him.

His forever backpack.

“I know the boss, so you can be a few minutes late,” he laughs. “I want to do something first.” He kicks the kickstand, and I wait for him to tell me.

“What do you want to do first?” I ask, not being able to stop my curiosity a second longer.

“Take my girl for a ride,” he grins, flipping his visor down and roaring the engine to life. We take off down the road and enjoy our ride together along the coast. I smile when we pass the spot where he took me opening night. So many memories surround us, and I can’t wait to make many more.

His hand finds my thigh and squeezes lightly, letting me know he’s thinking the exact same thing.

When he pulls into Montgomery’s a few minutes later, my cheeks hurt from smiling. I still can’t believe he set this whole little date up for us today.

Helping me off my bike and out of my helmet, I jump into his arms as soon as he secures it.

Laughing, he holds me tight as I wrap my legs around and pepper his face and neck with kisses.

“Thank you for our little date,” I grin. “And the new helmet. I love it so much. ”

“It’s not over yet, honey. I have one more surprise for you.”

“I don’t know how this day could get any better. The jeep idea was a genius way of surprising me with a date on your bike. I love that you brought us back to where it all started.”

His hands rub over my thighs before settling on my bottom.

“Well, your boyfriend is a genius, so the idea came to me naturally.”

“He is a genius. I mean, you picked me.” I grin wickedly.

“That I did,” he laughs. “Smartest decision I ever made, too.”

Setting me down gently, he takes my hand and walks with me up the stairs. He’s got a sly smile on his face, and I don’t know why, but I feel like something big is coming. My heart starts beating a little more rapidly as he opens the door and I step inside.

I throw my hand up to my mouth and gasp.

The whole place is lit with candles, and the sweet smell of honeysuckles penetrate my senses as vase after vase is filled with blooming white flowers set on all the tables. The place is completely empty except for the two of us.

“Miles,” I breathe. “I…this is beautiful,” I finally manage to say, unable to find the right words to describe what I feel right now.

Turning to look at him, my eyes fill with tears as I watch him get down on one knee.

“Oh my God,” I whisper.

A small smile plays on his lips as he opens the black velvet box in his hand, and a beautiful diamond ring sits in the center. It’s elegant and classic with the white gold band and exactly what I would have picked out for myself.

I blink back the tears and swallow the lump in my throat, trying not to sob like a baby .

“Olivia Abigail Sinclair,” he smiles, and takes my left hand.

His greys hold mine, and the depth of love I see in them is the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen.

“Before you, music was the only thing that filled my soul. Then you came into my life and became my favorite song. You fill me with such joy each day and show me a love that I never knew existed. I want to do this life with you by my side. I will always be someone that you and Bee can count on, and I promise to love you, Bee, and our family we create together for as long as there is breath in my body.”

I swipe the tears streaming down my face as he takes the ring in his hand.

“Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife and making me the happiest guy in the universe?”

A small sob escapes as I laugh at our little joke about the planet not being big enough. Nodding my head quickly, I break out into a grin.

“Yes,” I cry softly. “It would make me the happiest woman in the universe to do this life with you.”

His grin lights up the room as he slips the ring on my finger and stands up, crushing his lips to mine.

“I love you so much,” I whisper. “I can’t wait to be Mrs. Montgomery.”

“God, I love the sound of that,” he softly growls and kisses me again.

“Is it time?” I hear Bee whisper, and I break away to look for her.

“Did she say yes?” Charlie’s little voice appears, and I laugh.

“You guys can come out now,” Miles chuckles. “And she said yes,” he grins, looking back at me.

“Momma said yes!” Bee says excitedly, coming out from the back hallway and running over to us. She leaps into Miles’s arms, and he picks her up, laughing .

Surprise washes over me when I see everyone start to pile in. Miles’s parents and his brothers, along with their families. I see Savi beaming at me before she steps aside, and my parents step forward with my sister and her family.

“Mom..Dad? Holly?” I look at my sister, and she smiles at me, brushing a tear away. I glance at my mom again, still surprised they are all here.

“Miles called us last week and asked your dad and me for our blessing,” my mom beams. “We weren’t about to miss it when he asked us if we wanted to be here.”

“Then, he called me and invited us to be here. I’m so happy you didn’t listen to me and stayed in Chicago,” my sister laughs softly. “You two were meant to find each other.”

I look over at Miles, and he grins. “Thought you might want your family here, too.”

“You are pretty amazing, you know that?”

“My fiancé is, too.” He puts emphasis on the word fiancé , and my stomach flutters when I hear it for the first time.

“I love the sound of that.”

“Me too,” he murmurs. His eyes have that gleam to them, and I have no doubt I’ll be hearing those words coming from his lips later.

“Look what Miles got me!” Bee holds up her chubby little wrist, pulling us away from our thoughts. Touching her arm, I finger the small gold bracelet with a bee charm dangling from it. “He got me something special to wear just like he got you because he loves us both so much.”

“Yes, he does.” I feel the tears again and blink them away. Bee gets distracted when she sees Charlie start to play with Gizmo. Miles sets her down, and she runs over to them.

“That was so thoughtful of you to include her in this,” I say softly, lifting my eyes to meet his .

“I didn’t want her to feel left out. I want her to know she’s just as special to me.”

“She knows,” I smile, as we watch her run around with her new soon-to-be cousins. “We can feel your love.”

“Wait,” I suddenly say, looking around. “I just realized you’re not open.” In all the excitement, I had completely forgotten that we should be working right now.

“I put the word out last week around town that we wouldn’t be open today, swearing everyone to secrecy not to tell you if they saw you,” he laughs.

“Tonight's just for us. The girls helped me arrange everything. Food should be arriving soon, and Noah and Mav are coming with their families. Knox is even flying in. His flight should be landing soon, and he’s catching a ride straight from the airport to join us for the night.”

“Does Savi know?” I laugh.

“Yes. And she promised to be on her best behavior. We’ve got a wedding to plan and both of them will be in it, so they need to work their shit out fast,” he chuckles.

“It’s going to be quite interesting to see how it unfolds.”

We are suddenly surrounded by everyone as they hug us, and congratulations are said. It doesn’t take long before all of us girls are crying happy tears as I show them my ring and tell them about Bee’s bracelet.

Champagne is popped and starts flowing as more guests arrive. Miles and I don’t leave each other’s side the whole night, and spend hours being with the ones we love most in the world. By the time we walk into my house later, I’m more than ready to be alone with my fiancé.

Judging by the look in his eyes, he’s thinking the same thing. My parents took Bee back to the hotel where they are staying so we could have some time alone tonight…just me and my fiancé.

God, I love calling him that.

I still have to pinch myself that all of this is real .

I don’t make it further than the front door before I’m caged in against it, and Miles has my hands bound together above my head.

“Boyfriend/girlfriend sex was hot, but I’m thinking fiancé sex is going to be even better.”
