Chapter 25 Tying His Shoelaces
Chu Qingyun returned to school for classes. Because of him, I started showing up on campus much more often.
People still whispered about us behind our backs when they saw us together.
But Chu Qingyun no longer avoided anything. I asked him, "Aren't you afraid anymore that people will find out about our relationship?"
He shook his head. "You are my Boyfriend. There's nothing to hide."
Boyfriend. The word left a sweet taste in my mouth.
I reached out and hooked my arm around his, then leaned my head against his shoulder.
I was a full head taller than him, so the action looked ridiculous, but I wanted to do it anyway.
Someone was secretly watching us. I laughed loudly and called out, "Husband. Come and keep me company."
A blush spread across his face. He scolded me, "Bitch."
I smiled as I looked at him.
"Hey, wait."
He stopped walking. "What is it?"
"Your shoelace is loose."
He was about to bend down when I already dropped to one knee in front of him and tied his shoelace.
In the middle of the crowded campus, everyone's eyes turned to us at once. Chu Qingyun looked a little embarrassed.
Still, he reached out and gently stroked my head.
Someone took a photo of the moment and posted it on the campus forum.
I saved it, then paid quite a few people to spread it everywhere.
Cheng Yuzhou called me in the middle of the night while Chu Qingyun was reading in my arms.
His frantic voice came through. "Quick! Someone's dragging you online!"
"Dragging me for what?!"
"You're kneeling and tying someone's shoelace and it's everywhere! Go deal with it!"
"Oh, I asked them to post it."
There was a strange silence on the other end before he said, "Did I dial the wrong number? Is this Fu Yuan?"
"Yeah, it is."
"You... knelt down... tied someone's shoelace... and then paid people to spread it everywhere?!"
"So what? A man who loves his Husband will get rich. Now I finally understand why I'm so rich."
Chu Qingyun glanced at me with a mocking laugh. His eyes looked so charming.
Cheng Yuzhou was still yelling, but I didn't hear a single word. "I'm hanging up. Don't call me so late anymore. I have a family now, so watch your behavior."
With that, I hung up cleanly.
Chu Qingyun tried to roll away. I grabbed him immediately.
"So? Are you satisfied now?" I once made him kneel to light a cigarette for me. I was willing to kneel and tie his shoelaces for a lifetime.
He paused. "Not yet. I haven't thrown money at you yet."
"That's easy to fix."
I grabbed a stack of cash from the bedside drawer and made him sit on top of me.
"Come on, Wife. Fuck me while you slap my face with the money."
He laughed, tossed the money aside, then leaned down to kiss me. His fingertips traced over my face.
"We're even now."
"That's it? We're even just like that?"
"Yeah. You love me, I love you, so we're even."
My heart felt soft and warm.
I ran my hand along his smooth back. The desire had already faded, leaving only peace and tenderness.
"If I say I'll love you for a lifetime, will you love me for a lifetime too?"
"Yes."
I pulled him into my arms and quietly felt his heartbeat.
I knew that if Chu Qingyun promised me a lifetime, it would be a lifetime.
And so would I.
