Portals of Infinity (Myths & Mythics #12)
Blurb
Things are changing for William and for once they all seem to be for the better, though for how long that will last is anybody’s guess.
Due to the actions of Cenewyg years ago, William now finds that he is becoming a Mythic, a person or being who, while not a god, is something more than a champion, or a saint.
For him and Feliogustus, events are quiet back home on Saladin, and in the Seven Worlds, now that the war against Two Rivers is over.
Many of the gods and goddesses of the Seven Worlds would prefer to just ignore this new god and his dangerous champion.
However, some of the gods and goddesses, the ones the William helped in Feliogustus’s name, have a much more positive view.
As for William, he needs to work on building his myth, now that his mythic status is starting to take hold and spread, and as William is Feliogustus’s champion back on Saladin and in the Seven Worlds, that means his myth is tied to Feliogustus in those places,
which means Feliogustus has much to gain by helping William, who is still as dedicated and loyal as ever.
Which is why William is more than willing to help Feliogustus’s allies with their problems, no matter how small.
For a goddess such as Vikoria the Bountiful, who traded away her ability to have a champion, this is quite a boon.
For gods with champions who aren’t willing to deal with inconsequential (to them) affairs, or who are busy elsewhere, this is also a boon.
For Feliogustus’s it’s a way to spread his name ’under-the-radar’, so to speak, and plays into his long game to become a fixture in the Seven Worlds while helping William solidify his status as a Mythic.
For William, it’s a nice change of pace, from all of the very nasty things he’s had to do the last several years. One that he plans to enjoy for as long as it lasts.
