CHAPTER 14

ANGELO

As I look around the party, I notice how everything is top of the line and fancy as hell. Still, my woman is the most stunning and magical thing in the room. She’s glowing and smiling with confidence coming off her in waves.

Earlier when she was getting ready, I could feel her nervousness from the other room. She was overthinking, and I couldn’t have it.

The moment I stepped into the doorway to the bathroom, I almost swallowed my tongue. My woman was a fucking vision in gold. Having jewelry that I bought her on her body felt like possession. I love the way her blonde hair was curled, but I knew I was going to mess it up before I was done with her.

Her dress was hugging her curves and calling to me like a siren’s song. Resisting was impossible. The only thing I could do was give into my carnal desires and fill her again with my cum after feeling her squeeze my cock in pure fucking pleasure.

When I told her how I wanted my cum coating her thighs instead of her cleaning up, she blushed so sweetly for me. She has no idea how enticing she is.

I’ve fallen in love with my woman. Completely. Irrevocably.

Since I brought her into my life there have been countless times when I’ve almost told her. But I knew she wasn’t ready. Even now, I don’t think she would believe me.

Soon.

Very fucking soon.

I’m not going to be able to keep these feelings inside for much longer.

When we arrived at the hotel where the party was taking place, I could feel Dove starting to become nervous again.

But I had a plan and a surprise for her.

It’s possible I had an ulterior motive for ripping off her lacy thong, barely there though it was, off her. And she found out after we stopped at the valet in front of the hotel.

When the valet started to approach the car, I frowned and shook my head. He froze in place and practically ran in the other direction like his ass was on fire. I almost laughed, but Dove didn’t notice the interaction because of how hard she was thinking.

She was fidgeting with her hands in her lap, her fingers twisting this way and that way. When I reached over and covered her hand with mine, her gaze snapped toward me and our eyes locked together.

“You have nothing to be nervous about, la mia pace,” I assured her.

She snorted out a laugh. “Easy for you to say. You’re respected amongst these people.” She looked down at my chest and scrunched up her nose. “What if I recognize someone from my previous employment?”

I nodded in understanding; glad she was trusting me with what she was truly worried about.

“Then they’re going to keep their mouth shut,” I bit out, the thought of anyone denigrating her because of her past making my vision become hazy. I wasn’t going to let something like that happen.

Not tonight. Not ever.

“And they would have a lot more to be ashamed of than you.” She looked at me dubiously, but I knew I was right.

“More than likely they’re married and were stepping out on their wife.

That’s not your fault; it’s all on them.

The last thing they would want is for something like that to come out.

If anyone knows you from that time in your life, then they’ll stay far away. ”

Her shoulders relaxed, but I could tell she was still concerned.

After reaching into the pocket of my jacket, I pulled out very special device built into a pair of panties. She looked at it curiously, her eyebrows furrowed and questions waiting on her tongue to be asked.

“You’re going to put this on,” my voice was deeper than normal, the thought of controlling her pleasure in front of everyone while they remained clueless was making my cock thicken.

When she took the fabric, she turned it over in her hands and felt the weight of the device positioned perfectly within them. Then I pulled the controller out of my pocket and showed it to my woman.

“You’ll never know when I’m going to turn it on.”

Dove gasped and her eyes widened as she looked between me and the controller. “People will know,” she argued.

“If you don’t keep quiet, they will,” I shot back at her and watched as she swallowed hard. “But the vibrator is silent, and I’ll keep the control in my pocket. I’ll be taking you right to the edge and leaving you there over and over.”

Her breathing started to pick up, and I knew I had her.

“Slip them on,” I commanded. She started to turn her head as if to look around and ensure no one was paying attention to her, but I barked, “Keep your eyes on me.”

We stared into each other’s eyes as she managed to get her legs through the holes and pulled the fabric up her silky legs and then up under her dress. Once it was in place, I flicked it on to the lowest setting and she jolted in her seat.

My chuckle of sinful delight wrapped around us before I stepped out of the car and made my way around to her side. I shot a look toward the valet while knowing Salvatore would take care of the details to keep my car right where I left it.

You never know when you need to leave somewhere quickly. And there’s no way some barely legal kid is going to get behind the wheel of my car.

When we stepped into the party, all eyes came to us and my chest puffed up with pride. Dove is the most beautiful woman at the party, and it’s been an honor having her on my arm.

I can’t wait until she fully realizes who she is and what it means. There’s no telling when it will all click into place for her, but I hope to be there when it does. I’m pretty sure it’ll be quite a show.

And I’m all about being entertained.

“It was so lovely meeting and talking to you, Dove,” Vivian Mason, the mayor’s wife, gushes as she reaches for my woman’s arm and gives her a gentle squeeze. The smile on her face is genuine, and it helps me relax slightly.

There have been quite a few women who have given Dove the side eye. If this was a different kind of party, I would have dealt with their disrespect already. Considering the Chief of Police is across the room, I’m going to continue to refrain.

“Thank you,” Dove breathes out, the relief evident in her voice. “It was nice meeting you as well.”

“We’ll have to do lunch sometime. Powerful women in this city have to stick together.”

I am grateful to her for including my woman so effortlessly. Vivian just earned her husband his next reelection. I doubt it was part of her plan. She’s just a nice woman.

From what I’ve heard, Vivian and Oaklynn get together for lunch now and then.

Speaking of Oaklynn, just as Vivian blends into the glitter of the party, Kirill Volkov, with Oaklynn on his arm, move into our sphere.

I can see the curiosity on Kirill’s face even though he tries to hide it.

Oaklynn doesn’t even attempt to hide a damn thing.

Then there are the rest of Oaklynn’s men.

Maxim, eyes my woman, but there’s no interest in his gaze, only mild curiosity, and a lot of amusement.

I have no doubt that he’s going to give me shit.

Baker, who heads up security for their organization, has his head on a swivel and is assessing everyone around him.

When he looks at Dove, he pauses for a moment but decides she’s not a threat to Kirill or Oaklynn because he relaxes.

Huck, who is a tech genius, looks at Dove with assessing eyes.

There’s a spark of something like recognition, but it’s there and then gone almost immediately.

“Dove,” I tighten my hold on her hip as I nod toward them in greeting, “I’d like to introduce you to some allies.”

It takes a moment, but once introductions are out of the way, Oaklynn smiles at my woman before reaching for her. She tugs her closer while keeping her grip gentle. Dove doesn’t startle or freeze in place, so as much as I don’t like her being pulled away from me, I allow it to happen.

The women put their heads together and start talking with smiles on their faces. As much as I want to yank my woman against my chest, I let it go.

As the men step closer to me, they have shit eating grins on their faces except for Huck. He’s always been a little more reserved. Kirill normally is as well, but Oaklynn being in his life has loosened him up a little bit.

Not much, but I see the difference.

“I see you have found your woman,” Kirill’s voice is filled with surprise while he doesn’t take his eyes off Oaklynn.

“I have,” I agree. I can’t help but smile slightly when I look at her. Fuck, she’s gorgeous.

“Where did you find her?” Maxim’s eyes are dancing with mischief as if he already knows the answer.

I narrow my eyes and shoot him a look; one he doesn’t give a single fuck about. Ever since I met Maxim, I’ve wondered if he has a death wish. The man has no fear. It’s something that hasn’t changed about him, even now that he has something to live for.

“That’s not important. What is important is that my brother has been tearing her down for far too long.”

Baker glances around the room. “I saw Romeo earlier.” He meets my gaze and holds it. “If you need back-up, just say the word. Cleaning house isn’t easy.”

I shake my head and assure him, “It won’t be a problem. I’m not sentimental when it comes to my brother,” I spit out the word.

He nods once before his eyes start to scan the room again, but this time it feels more purposeful.

“I was lucky with my brother,” Kirill’s voice is filled with understanding, which I’m sure is layered since everyone knows Romeo runs Second Circle. “Not everyone is.”

“I’d rather be lucky in love than with blood,” I tell him honestly.

Before he can respond, Dove glides over to me with a smile on her face and something in her eyes I’ve never seen before. Oaklynn is at her side, but Maxim hooks an arm around her waist and tucks her against him.

“I’m going to head to the restroom for a moment, but I’ll be right back,” Dove murmurs softly.

“Oh,” Oaklynn says brightly while wiggling out of Maxim’s hold, “I’ll go with you.”

“It’s really okay, I’ll just be a moment,” Dove insists.

I have a feeling she just needs to take a breath. This night has been overwhelming but she’s done so well. Her eyes are clear and bright, but there’s an edge of panic there that has me nodding.

Salvatore will shadow her. She’ll be safe.

My gut twists at the thought of Romeo being somewhere around here. I saw a glimpse of him earlier as well, but I didn’t mention it to my woman. There’s no point in freaking her out.

“Of course,” la mia pace,” I murmur and kiss her softly.

When I pull back, her eyes are glazed over, and I can’t help but smirk. I’ve used my remote a few times tonight already. But it’s never been enough.

I don’t want it to be.

All I want to do is keep her on edge. It’s only fair since it’s how she has made me feel since the moment I met her.

As Dove turns away, my eyes dart around the room. Oaklynn opens her mouth and steps toward my woman, but Kirill is there and pulls her back which makes her pout slightly.

He looks at me with a frown on his face. “You’re playing with fire,” he warns.

My heart is pounding in my chest, and I take a deep breath to try and calm it. But it doesn’t help at all.

“She can’t be queen until she claims her crown,” I tell him with a sigh, my eyes locked on Dove. “She has to prove it to herself, not me.”

Even though I know Sal will keep an eye on her, I can’t help but follow behind my woman after sharing a look with the other men.

If anyone understands the primal need I have to be near Dove, they do. They’re the same way with Oaklynn. I can only hope that Romeo does something stupid because I’m tired of him looming over us.
