Chapter 5 #3

Shaking my head, I snickered. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re trying to sleep with me.” Was he? He thought I was straight.

“Would it be so terrible? That bed is so big and looks so comfortable. We can put pillows between us. I promise not to touch you.” He stood and strutted toward me, a playful gleam in his eye. “Unless you want me to touch you.”

My dick twitched in my slacks. Jesus fuck, what was he doing? He was tempting as hell. “I don’t swing that way, remember?” And if I gave in, I’d blow my cover wide open.

A loud cackle erupted from him, and he slapped his palms on his thighs. “Had you going.” He stepped to the side of the bed and fell back onto it. “Damn, are you gullible, and this is a really comfortable bed.”

I shifted, angling toward him, and set my hand on the mattress between us. “I knew you were joking. And we’ll order a rollaway for you, or you can pull out the couch. Your choice.” I had to put my foot down. His comment about touching me would taunt me in my dreams tonight.

“Please, Alex.” Rolling to his side, he placed his warm hand over mine. “I promise to be a good boy and not touch you.”

Holy fuck, this wasn’t helping. As a shudder rolled through me, my cock lengthened to my hip, and I covered it with my free hand. I opened my mouth.

“Please…I’ll do anything. We can watch game footage together.

You can teach me all the nuances of each position.

Tell me all about the various penalties.

” He wrinkled his forehead. “I hate sleeping on couches and rollaway beds, and I know if I make you sleep on it and you play like shit tomorrow, it’ll be my fault. ”

“Have you ever slept on a couch or a rollaway bed?” I raised my brows. Somehow, I figured the accurate answer would be no.

“Uh…” Huffing a sigh, he rotated onto his back and stared at the ceiling. “Not really. But I rolled out of a twin bed in Germany one time. We had to push the beds together.” He turned his head. “I don’t sleep well outside of an actual bed.”

“Jesus, okay, fine.” I scowled. He wasn’t letting up, and I had no choice.

“Really?” His face lit and he sat up, brushing his fingers along the bedspread. “These are really nice linens.”

“You know, sometimes you act like you’re twelve.” I needed out of this suit. Rising, I shrugged out of my jacket and hung it on the back of a dinette chair.

“But it worked.” He jumped off the bed and removed his suit coat, and then unbuttoned his shirt.

“Guess so. Spoiled rich boys must be my kryptonite.” I snickered.

Were we really getting undressed together?

But hell, he’d already seen me mostly naked in the locker room.

Except…I hadn’t seen him. As I slipped my shirt off and slacks down my legs, I peeked at him—his lithe frame held muscles, but they were of the long and lean variety.

“Yeah, whatever, Daddy.” As he lowered his slacks, his rounded ass came into view under a pair of sheer blue briefs.

Goddamn, he was fuckable. My cock hardened in an instant and I shoved it to the side. I should stop looking, but my eyes disobeyed my orders.

Bending over his bag, he rummaged through it and then stopped, his gaze cutting to mine and a sly grin curling his lips. “Like the view?”

“Uh, sorry.” Sorry? What the hell? Blinking a few times, I strode to my bag, pulled out my team sweats and dressed. This was awkward. With all the damn hints he’d been leaving and me being a dumbass, I’d give myself away.

After we’d dressed in team shirts and joggers, he dumped his bag in the closet and then faced me. “So, what’s next?”

Stared at him for a moment. I hadn’t seen him in team gear before. He had no business looking that good in it. “Uh, we could hang out before the meeting. The guys are probably playing Call of Duty.” I’d packed my gaming system thinking I’d have my own room, but I only had one controller.

He wrinkled his nose. “I’m not a big fan of shoot ‘em-up games.” With a heavy inhale, he strolled to the couch and dropped onto the end. “What about a movie?”

“Or we could review game footage together. You made a promise, remember?” With a smirk, I strolled toward him. “I’d like to see what you’ve been watching on YouTube.”

“Oh my God…so boring.” With a groan, he tipped his head back. “I suppose you can’t go to the bar with me and grab a drink.” He wagged his brows at me.

“No, I’m not drinking right now.” I fell onto the couch beside him.

“There’s a bar in the kitchenette.” I gestured toward the room’s far wall, where a microwave, sink, and refrigerator sat.

“Plus, I don’t want to deal with fans downstairs.

I’m supposed to be resting.” How many times would I have to repeat myself?

“Fine.” With a huff, he strode across the room, grabbed a beer can from the refrigerator and snicked it open. “I don’t need to be in top shape for tomorrow, so I’m having a few drinks.” As he took a sip, he returned to his position on the couch. “Go ahead, play the videos.”

A grin teased my lips, and I picked up the remote from the coffee table and turned on the television.
