Chapter 15
Preacher
“Church is adjourned unless any of you brothers have any business to bring to the table.” King scans the room.
I slowly rise from my chair. “Yeah, I got something to share.” Everyone’s eyes come to me. “I’m getting married.”
Hollers, whistles, and claps erupt around the room. They probably never thought they’d see the day.
“To that fiery little vixen?” Tank asks.
I smile wide. The one and only. They all clap and whistle louder. My girl has made quite the impression on them, starting on the night of my “arrest.” That’s the night she officially claimed my heart too. Since then, I’ve sunk deeper and deeper in love.
“Gotta say, brother,” Cage states. “Never pictured you as the marrying type. But I’m damn happy it’s my girl’s best friend you’ll be settling down with. She’s cool as shit.”
That she is. She’s going to fit in well around here.
She walked through the doors tonight and told every sweetbutt in the room that I was hers and that if she caught them trying to come up to me or even smile in my direction, she’d have them removed from the club in a body bag.
I had to pick her up and carry her back to my room to get her ass calmed down.
I showed that pussy she’s the only one I want.
Made her scream loud so everyone could hear my claiming.
After that, she settled in nicely. I left her at the bar with Payton and the girls for a drink, and I’m eager to get back out to her.
“So, when’s the big day?” King asks, clapping me on the back.
“Not set yet. Hoping soon, but it’s up to her.”
I’m still shocked she said yes. It’s not how I’d pictured it all going down.
I wasn’t going to propose until I knew she was over her ex and ready for a future with me, but she surprised me.
I don’t think it could’ve worked out any better.
But as far as the wedding goes, she gets to set the date.
As long as my ring is on her finger, there’s no rush.
“Well, this calls for a celebration. Let’s go get this man a drink.”
The guys all pound me on the back, shaking my hand and congratulating me as we exit the room.
As soon as we’re in the main hall, I hear her giggle.
Chassie’s right where I left her with the girls.
Prettiest woman I ever did see. And that laugh could chase away any demon.
I stalk right to her, wrapping my arm around her waist and nuzzling in.
“Missed you.” I breathe her in.
“You were only gone for twenty minutes.” She turns her head, giving me access to her lips, and I steal a kiss. Slipping my tongue inside and showing her how much I love her.
“Get a room!” Cage hollers from behind.
I pull back and smile as I see my girl’s face flushed. It’s time to get her home, but first, I’m going to have a drink with King and my brothers.
“Are you having fun, baby?”
“Yes. Shayna makes the yummiest drinks.”
I look over and give Shay a wink. “She does. Hey, Shay, can you pour me a Walker black?”
She nods and goes to grab the bottle.
“So, what are you girls gabbing on about?” Something had them all giggling.
“We were talking about who the next girl to get engaged will be, Meg or Dakota. I think the rich asshole Meg’s dating will hold off for as long as he can, but she claims otherwise.”
“He’s not an asshole,” Meg balks at my girl. She’s a good kid but wound way too tight. But after I got the rundown from Chassie about their dad, it makes sense. It also explains why Dakota rarely speaks.
“Yeah, he is.” Dozer comes up and clinks his glass to mine. “Guy’s a fucking douche.” Meg tenses at his arrival. It looks like her feathers just rose.
“Congrats to you both!” Dozer says, ignoring her annoyed stare as he looks to my girl. “Couldn’t have asked for a better woman to take this one off the market.”
He’s got that right. Makes sense now why I never had feelings for anyone in my past. There’s no one like Chassie.
“You’re one to talk, Dozer. Talk about being a douche. You’re a total dick.”
“And we all know how much your pussy drips for this dick, don’t we?” He cuts her a glare, and her eyes round out like saucers. That was an odd remark. Maybe she’s the one he was talking about the other night. Shit. No fucking way.
“You wish,” Meg spits back.
I grip my girl around the waist and lift her from her stool, so we can get out of the line of their drama. We’re supposed to be celebrating tonight, not breaking up a lover’s spat.
“Come on, baby. Come dance with me.”
I take her to the floor, and another roar of hoots and hollers breaks out around the room.
“Man, they hate each other,” she says, shaking her head as I sway us back and forth. “They should never be left alone in a room together.”
Being alone in a room together is exactly what Meg and Dozer need. They need to work off their tension.
“I think they’ll be next to get engaged.” I spin her around, dipping her back.
“What?” She lifts her head, looking at me like I’m crazy. “There’s no way. Not a chance in hell.”
“You want a bet?”
“Yes!” She nods. “I will definitely take that bet because I most certainly will win.”
She is about to be proven wrong, but I would love to hear what the stakes are because then I know the next thing I can get my girl.
“What are we betting for, babe?”
“You’re crazy for taking this bet, but it’s your loss. When I win, I want a puppy. A little fluffball that I can cuddle with when you’re not home.” She smiles cheekily.
She’ll be getting a puppy for Christmas then. Or sooner, based on what I’m seeing is happening in the corner of the room right now.
“It’s a deal. And if I win, your ass is riding my dick cowgirl.” I squeeze her backside so she understands exactly what I mean.
She lets out a moan and I squeeze her harder. Looks like I might be getting my wish tonight. I think it’s time for us to head on home.
“You ready to go, babe?”
She nods, her cheeks nice and rosy. I’m feeling the same heat between my legs.
I lean down and toss her right over my shoulder. “Gettin’ my woman home, brothers. We’ll have to continue this celebration another time.”
An uproar of laughter and claps hit my ears as I carry my girl outside and place her on my bike.
The moon shines down on her pretty face as I place the helmet on her head and it hits me right in the chest. I’ve suffered some pain in my life, but finding this girl makes it all worth it.
Out of the pain, I found something beyond incredible.
